  1. Nothing else. Just add the d-ring and you should be good to go.
  2. Hi Joe and congrats! Everything is looking very good so far. Let us know if you need anything!
  3. Yup I love my Hyperfirm! Its one of the best trooping blasters. I have an Phoenix Props as well and would never consider taking out on a troop.
  4. Yes thanks for sharing Joseph. It's a shame that a message like this would even need to be conveyed. I for one like to partake in adult libations but would never even consider doing so while at a troop and in armor. Of course I'm sure that different cultures have different views on this issue. But I bet that most everyone in the U.S. would agree that there is just too much liability for all involved. We are out there trying to do good and shouldn't let alcohol creep in and bring out any bad. Please wait until after your troop or especially until you are done with active trooping to enjoy alcohol. Well done GGG.
  5. Well Lee here is the deal. There is certainly a general consensus that David (TKUK) (stormtroopercity) is a nice guy and is a pleasure to deal with. That is always an important part when you are choosing armor. However, the issue for many people is that David has not provided any pictures of the molds that were used to create his armor and produce his armor. So far it has been unclear as to what the origins are of his armor. There are basically three ways in order for a set of stormtrooper armor to be vetted and recommend. A person needs to be given permission to cast a set of molds from the actual owner of the molds, a person needs to buy a set of original molds from another person, or a person needs to show progress photos of their molds that they are sculpting from start to finish and many times in between. Many people may have their own opinions on the origins of this armor but David has yet to provide the actual information on his end. He has stated on this forum that his armor has gone through "changes" which appears to happen regularly. If you look at the armor from the beginning up until now it seems that the armor started off as a recast of FX armor with a non FX bucket that is a 3 piece like AM. You can even still see some images on his website's homepage where the chest and back armor are clearly FX/AM. Once you actually click on the "product shots" tab then you will see pictures of a different chest and back plate. Because of all of these discrepencies it is very difficult to recommend to someone that they should spend their hard earned money on a product like this. However, of course people are allowed to spend their money however they seem fit. A two for one deal is hard to argue with. Here are two more links to discussions on this set of armor for your reading: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/37251-info-on-tkarmourcom-vendor/ http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38558-tk-armour/ Again you have every right to spend your money how you would like but at this time I would highly recommend you look at the vetted armor list in the getting started thread before you finally do make your decision.
  6. I'm not too sure of any other sales as most vendors do not announce anything as they are behind the scenes. The only ones that I could see maybe doing something is RS and check out the WTF facebook page.
  7. I'm sort of the same as Mark but didn't go anymore beyond industrial strength velcro. I put a strip in the front of the boot, on the sides of the boot and small strips on the back corners. I glued them on the boot and inside of the shin. Once I did that a couple years ago I have yet to have a problem with my shins riding up. Only issue I have now is sometimes the velcro rips off the boot and I just regule a new piece.
  8. Congrats Paul! Well deserved and it's about time! You are looking sharp!
  9. Yeah Braden, Ben is all over it. Please post some pics on just how messed up they are. We might be able to salvage them. I'm not sure which armors color would go best with Anovos but I know AP, ATA and MTK all sell replacement parts. So if it comes down to it, I would reach out to those guys.
  10. I would stay away from SDS. There is a ton of information on the forum if you search for it. And depending on where your located he can't ship to certain countries.
  11. Well obviously I'm gonna say MTK! No for real though, knowing what I know about Anovos armor now, I would honestly choose any fan made TK armor over Anovos any day. You can just tell that so much care went into a set from a fan made vendor then just the rushed production from Anovos. I just think the issue that many fan made vendors run into is the lack of a website or facebook page. It seems that many first time buyers hesitate pulling the trigger when you are just communicating with some guy over emails. Keep up the good work Mike!
  12. Hello and welcome to FISD! You have already been given the link to get you started. There is a ton of information on this forum. It may seem a bit overwhelming at first but just take your time and read through as much as you possibly can. You should head over to the Florida Garrison website and sign up there as well. There is more then likely members nearby you who can also give you some hands on assistance as well.
  13. So I saw this thread and your Vader thread. Like Mark said, you should head over to the UKG forum. Are you looking to become a member of the 501st or are you looking to just go out there in costume? The UKG has very strict standards so if you have not been in contact with them then I would do so soon.
  14. Hi Barry and welcome to FISD! At this point and time Troopermaster and RS Props are the only two vendors that offer built sets of armor. They are both located in the UK but they both ship to the US. Another option is trying to get a fully built set from Anovos but who knows when they would be shipping theirs. Anyway, I strongly recommend that you look into building your own set of armor. It really isn't as difficult as you may think it is. We all started where you are now. Once you start making your first few cuts on your armor then you will become more comfortable with it. You can start a build thread on the forum and people can see your progress and comment when they feel the need. Also depending on where you are located, most garrisons have the occasional "armor party" where members get together and provide hands on assistance to recruits trying to build armor. Where are you located?
  15. Yeah I saw it and kinda chuckled to myself. I was wondering why he was even displaying it.
  16. Well Paul has certainly given you all of the info you need. It wouldn't be advantageous for anyone at FISD to add people to a do not buy list just because they do not like them. People added to lists like this are well deserving of it through a well documented pattern of poor business practices.
  17. Awesome! Congrats Josh! It is a great feeling when you finally pull the trigger. Which set of armor did you go with? I absolutely love my Hyperfirm. It is a nice blaster to take out trooping because you don't have to worry about it breaking.
  18. Hi Kevin. Yes research is key like Glen mentioned. However, we get very spoiled over here at FISD. Everything is within our fingertips and stuff is available from a multitude of vendors and with typically minimal wait time. The same can't be said for other costumes. I know from experience that finding an accurate Tie helmet is difficult. There are handful of vendors of Tie helmets but they are all different looking. Some of the more accurate helmets are from vendors that have extremely long wait times like Dan Laws and Moncal. I narrowed my decision at the time to The Shed of Glittering Delights because I liked the way the helmet looked. However, when this past Black Friday rolled around I took advantage of the Anovos tie helmet. I'm happy with it but still don't know how accurate it is. Another option is to check out Radu Plucinsky on facebook. I kinda like how his stuff looks. I hope I have helped atleast a little.
  19. Wow Paul your armor is looking awesome! Shouldn't be any issue there! You had some good eyes on ya. Good luck
  20. Tim those photos are amazing! I can't wait to see all of the ones that were taken down there.
  21. Great times! Welcome back fancy way to say pirates!
  22. To be perfectly honest with you Adam, unless this all is going for a really good low price, I would look elsewhere. I'm not entirely sure if your garrison would approve the eFX helmet. The armor looks okay from the pictures but there are far better sets out there. Have you reached out to any of the vetted vendors? I would consider checking with WTF or MTK if you are looking for a set of armor and want it pretty quickly. They are also in the lower price range. I have not yet heard of anyone taking a Rogue One black series helmet and modifying it to look ANH. I think it might cost you too much in time, effort, and materials then if you were to just buy a kit from someone.
  23. Yeah it was good to meet you at the lunch as well Preston. It was really awesome finally getting to meet all of you in person. Meeting everyone and hanging out was the best part of Celebration for me. I actually forgot there was a con going on!
  24. Hi Zac and welcome to FISD! Well there are a large amount of varying opinions of Anovos and their armor. There is a ton of information already documented on the forums. I do not own a set so I can only speak to what I have seen and heard. So far it seems that the armor is not made to last. I have had my set of MTK armor 2.5 years now and it has held up well. I have trooped in it a bunch now. Done the whole walking around for Halloween bit. And just the past weekend finally traveled with it on a plane to Orlando for Celebration. So my armor has gotten some use now. I have not had one issue with the durability of mine. Now in comparison one of my buddies that just went down to Celebration with me has Anovos and his armor is cracking in certain areas and his chest piece is falling apart. He has put it to good use since he has had it but it should not be falling apart like it is. I have heard this numerous times now about Anovos. It will certainly get you into the 501st if built correctly but there is cause for Concern about its durability. Just keep doing your research and you will be able to make a well informed decision on which armor you would like to go with. Good luck!
  25. Happy Easter everyone! Enjoy the day!
