  1. Great job IPM! Happy 10 year anniversary to all!
  2. Your armor is looking great Hunter! I love the changes that Mike has made to the kit over the years. It is truly a nice kit. Good luck with your application and bring another MTK to the centurion ranks!
  3. Hey William. You could always reach out to Mike (MTK) and ask for a new helmet kit. It depends on how rushed you are. He took the month off from everything because he had knee surgery. Other then that I have MTK and I use a TM when I do ANH. It is slightly off but you can't really tell the difference unless you are looking for it.
  4. Happy Anniversary FISD! Thank you so much Paul for creating such a masterpiece. You formed a place for a bunch of dorks and geeks to come share a common passion. Thank you to all past and current staff members who have worked so hard on keeping this ship forging ahead and making it the best detachment. I have truly enjoyed being an active and non active member of this amazing place for the last 5 years. Here's to many more years of troopers helping troopers!
  5. Hi Chris and welcome to FISD! So I know 46 pages seems like a lot but you have a lot to consider in this hobby. This hobby costs a lot of money. You certainly want to make a well educated decision on what armor is right for you. Picking your armor will be the most important decision you could make. I would seriously not recommend taking shortcuts anywhere. You should take the time and read through all 47 pages. There is a ton of information here. The questions that you asked are all answered in this thread. Good luck with your research.
  6. Hey everyone. Mike has done a great job keeping up on his armor and making changes to it to reflect the highest of standards. I love my set even though it is probably a few versions ago. It is quality armor that has not let me down in the least bit while I've been out there trooping. I wouldn't hesitate to jump on his deal if you are looking for a great set of armor.
  7. Hey Greg that's a good idea for those awkward times. If I make it up to the HVS at all are you willing to rent out time? Is there an ECG discount?
  8. Wow I'm actually surprised with how few ROTJ troopers there are. I knew it wasn't the most popular but I thought there would be more then that!
  9. Hey Lance and welcome to FISD! I'm looking to do a tie reserve and pilot next. I highly suggest you head over to the Jolly Roger detachment and the Imperial officer corps. You will find most of the info you are looking for over there. Good luck on your journey!
  10. Hi John. Why not contact a different vendor? Most vendors always have helmets ready to go. RS and TM are amazing and you can't go wrong there. Cheaper options are MTK, WTF, ATA and AP
  11. Geez Sean you certainly slapped this together really fast! You did a great job on this MTK. I noticed you didn't put any shoulder elastics on and didn't make any hooks for inside you biceps. If you did that would keep your biceps in a better position. Also I loaded up my boots and inside of the bottom of my shins with industrial strength Velcro and it's worked wonders. Maybe that will help keep your shins down more so you can bend your knees better.
  12. Thomas since you live in Norway I would highly recommend you reach out to RS Props and Troopermaster. They both offer sets already completed.
  13. Thomas welcome to FISD! Your height would be good for about any kit but RT-Mod. As my buddy Allan said if you wanted to go with Anovos it will probably be a long wait right now as they are back in the pre order stage. Look at the getting started thread and you will find the link to the vetted armor vendors. Try and read through the whole thread so that you are well informed when you make the most important decision you're going to make.
  14. Jim I edited my post. I did not intend to use the word recast. I must have had it on my brain while typing the post
  15. I agree with you as well Kalani. Walt has a proven track record and has never steered anyone wrong. While on the same subject Mike (MTK) is in the same boat. However, you will find that some people will believe that they do not belong here because they casted parts of the TE2 and CAP which is always taboo. Both of them provide a great set of armor and I'm sure they will never be added to the list. But I'm starting to find out especially lately that this list isn't the be all end all. I just recently read someone accusing troopermaster of recasting TE. So there will always be people who feel a certain way about certain things. It doesn't change the fact that they all provide a great set of armor to make our legion look that much better!
  16. Yes nice job guys! It never gets old reading those every month! Keep up the good work!
  17. Carl you're off to a good start. I think you can cut more out of the corners atleast. I can't see the right eye too well from the picture but the left eye can certainly be cut out some more.
  18. Well glen certainly is right. If you can get the ears to fit you can easily do the rest of the kit. However if you are looking for less stressful peices then start with the shoulder bells and biceps.
  19. Those are right. Take your time with those MTK shins. Fit, trim a little, then trim again. And again.
  20. Happy Birthday Gazmosis! Thank you for everything that you did/do around here!
  21. Looks like you certainly have your list to move forward Aaron. When I put my armor together I never realized how a troop would have so much of an impact on how my armor was put together and the changes that needed to be made. When I was building my armor I was certainly going for the "look." Now the changes that I do make are for functionality. But you would never get that the first time you build an armor set. Dare I say that sometimes you may push the limits of the CRL's especially for centurion so that you can wear your armor more comfortably and have it function better. Good luck with your changes!
  22. I know that checking the box on the plane varies by price depending on your location. But is anyone willing to share how much it cost them to check it? Also what was the cost of shipping the armor to the hotel. And again I know that probably most experiences will deal with going to Anaheim but I'm still just curious.
  23. Yes Vern is right. [email protected] And MTK is high quality first class armor. Mike has made many changes to his armor to make it more accurate over time. You will not be disappointed in the least bit if you chose MTK. He usually gets his armor out pretty quickly. If you need anything else go ahead and ask. You may always reach me by PM as well. Good luck!
  24. 4 Day Pass bought! But wow I was clicking away right at 3PM and finally got through at 3:14PM and the VIPs were already gone. Not that I wanted one but man how do you get one of those????
  25. Geez Aaron I don't know how I missed this. Sorry buddy! You did an amazing job on your armor. You should be real proud. You made your MTK kit look like it could be one of the best kits out there. Congrats! You deserve it!
