  1. Karin had a run off of some flat hand guards that look closer to what sandtroopers used on screen and I jumped on them. Even some B grades have been sold and used with no issue. You're going to be painting them white and gluing them on your gloves. Once you have them on no one will be able to notice.
  2. Shouldn't be an issue but I'm sure Mike will take care of you if you want a refund. He runs a full time sign/vinyl business so the trooperbay & MTK is a side job. He can get busy but he will get back to you. Your best bet is email
  3. Go to Michaels or Hobby Lobby and get yourself a longer ruler. You'll need it to cut out finishing strips anyways.
  4. I used knit but if I could go back I'd choose woven.
  5. Your picture links broke. ATA is very nice armor but there are some other great vendors that make a quality kit and a fraction or zero wait time. Not trying to push you either way, just letting you know. Best of luck.
  6. 2 kids still in diapers in my household, it took me a better part of a year so don't worry.
  7. Check out ukswrath's builds. He displays links where to get the snaps for a good deal.
  8. I think Mike at trooperbay.com has his own molds. Karin is selling hers from what the FB group post said.
  9. Yeah you can leave it at the top. I took mine off because it was too tight and it bit me
  10. Hit up your local garrison. Guarantee someone has a rivet gun they can loan you.
  11. Taking off a little off the back will close up some of the gap in the front. Shave a little off right where the disc and the curve starts.
  12. When you are factoring in the bottom of the back plate fitting against the top of the kidney, realize that the back doesn't just go straight up when you wear it. The top of the back will be angled outwards. I hope that makes sense. Line the bottom of the back to kidney with that in mind and that curve will line up much better.
  13. You're going to want clamps and rare earth magnets to hold it in place
  14. I never paid or anything, never had another word of communication. If he sends me something and I can give my slot away, I will definitely let someone here know and take it.
  15. I think I've been on ATA's waiting list since March but decided to get MTK cause I could get it in a few days or wait forever. I never cancelled but then again I have never been notified either.
  16. Get a new belt, it's cheap and an easy fix.
  17. On those long straight pieces, make sure you are scoring against a ruler so your lines are straight. You should have to score like 2 or 3 times with an exacto blade. I used a #2 for my whole build. Once it was scored, back and forth and it came out perfect. Scissors or tin snips for the curves and smaller parts.
  18. Glad you got your handguards, heard yesterday that Karin is no longer doing them and selling her molds
  19. I wasn't on yesterday so I expected to see lots of progress this morning.
  20. I think you're on the right track.
