  1. Congrats man! I hate to tell you that I visit your site so often I'm probably 250,000 of those. hahaha
  2. Everyone seen this? http://tinyurl.com/force-trainer
  3. Well, you don't look silly at all... so I'd say that it fits.
  4. Here's the best thread on this whole debate... http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=1399 It's like everyone says... it really comes down to your preference. They're both excellent sets (from what I've seen). Just read, read, read, and then read some more to make sure you know you're getting what you want before you get it. Or get the "other one" later.
  5. My sig has me wearing FX with my MR CE... also you can---------- (below my sig) and see plenty of pictures with it. It looks great I think!
  6. You're my height exactly and my weight almost exactly. Depending on how long your legs are you may have to trim them, but the FX will fit you like a glove. Not too big at all. If this is your first armor consider looking around some more... don't rush a purchase. That's not because FX is "bad"... just my advice for everyone making a TK related investment.
  7. Your "end goal" is of course very important here. If you're wanting to troop and / or join the Legion then you'll need to get some actual armor, either FX (which isn't that expensive) or some other kit. I know nothing really about "papercraft"... but my question is how much would it cost to make a complete suit of armor out of it, AND cover it with fiberglass?! You, of course, have to count your time in producing this as part of the cost. You must factor in the probability of completing it successfully or having to, in the end, buy a kit of armor after all. Also I have to wonder about the wear-ability of armor made in this manor. Fiberglass armor is very heavy and hot. But, again, I don't know enough about it to form an opinion. As far scans of armor I'm not sure if any exist. All of the kits that are out there that I know of are either sculpts from fans or descendants of the original screen used armor. LFL might have scans, but I don't know if any of "us" do. We're not trying to discourage you or anything... just making sure you've thought it all out. Good luck whatever you decide!
  8. Hahaha... that's a great one!
  9. We all know the famous Order 66 and how it brought our glorious Empire into being. We all know that it was the Emperor's ingenious way to alert his troops that the Jedi had, in fact, betrayed them and were now rouge enemies of the Republic. We all know that without this order being in place all might have been lost. Many, however, do not know what orders 1 - 65 were. Here is a list of the ones I know... please fill in the rest. Order 1 "The Red Pill" It's been discovered that Jedi are actually Duracell batteries. All troops are commanded to stop fighting, collect the Jedi, and return them to the Jedi temple on Coruscant where they will be plugged in and used to power the Emperor's home theater. Order 7 - "God made earth and God made Heaven" Everything is going great and the trade federation is on the run. All troops are to meet at the "Healthy Heaven Day Spa" on Bespin for some well deserved R & R. Order 13 - "Palpatine in the House" The Emperor has been diagnosed with huntington's disease. All troops are to cease fire and return to base for a 2 weeks of sarcastic mourning and denial. Order 42 - "Life the Universe and Everything" The answer to the question of the universe has been found. All troops are to begin speaking with bad British accents. Order 50 - "The Flying Sheep" It's been discovered that the Jedi are secretly planning to use innuendos as a form of communication to distract from their hidden plans of taking over the galaxy with the help of midichlorian enhanced penguins and a grail of some sort. All troops are commanded to execute all Jedi. (This, of course, is very similar to Order 66 just much sillier.)
  10. Copy THAT! It will get a LOT worse before it gets better. There were many, many times that I had that sinking "oh cr@p... I've mucked this up for good..." Just keep trusting... it WILL get better.
  11. I'm so sure that's not true, and I don't even know you. #1 might be true... #2 is only true until you DO the project (repaint) and then it's no longer true. Repainting has the added benefit of giving your bucket a harder paint shell as well. The paint that comes on the bucket will chip and flake off very easily! One little knock against a wall, blaster, or anything else hard and you'll get a nice little yellow area where it chipped off. A chip off the ol' bucket if you will. Just my thoughts... I think they end up looking nicer too. Oh, and I didn't have the skill set when I did mine either... had to repaint it like 3 times. But by #3 I got it... and now I'll be able to paint my TE2 if I ever get some.
  12. If you're really worried about this happening, and you're keeping your "stash" in there, then simply wire it with an alarm. There are plenty of small alarms available that will sound very loudly if your TD is removed.
  13. I've heard on a scale from 1 to 10, 10 being really hard and 1 being out-of-the-box ready-to-wear the FX kit is about a 5 to put together... AP is probably a 7 and TE2 is about a 9. If you've ever done any model making or crafts of any kind then you could take a -2 from each one of those... FX = 3, AP = 5, TE2 = 7. Look through some of the build threads and see what people have done. If you can follow all they're doing and picture yourself doing it then you should be good. Another thing to think of is that TE2 is, in fact, HIPS... so it's actually easier to cut / work with. But it's also easier to goof up. AP kits are ABS, so they're stronger but harder to shape / cut / etc. -------------- This is from that thread... That's a great description I think! As far as sizing... for your size I would say do AP. It's probably the smallest kit out there and looks fantastic. FX can work (I've seen it on people that are just 5') but you'll have to trim it a lot. Which is fine... and probably needed on the AP too... but the AP is just closer to screen accurate. That ALL being said, I have LOVED my FX kit and I want my next kit will be a TE2. Good luck, and keep us posted!!
  14. Yeah... I'd do AP between those two. I have an MR CE and they're less expensive (by some) but if you mod them (which I would suggest you do if you get one) then they end up being around $200 total in expenses. The AP is a great looking bucket... never seen one in person believe it or not. I got the MR CE simply because I wanted to mod it! And I wanted a really idealized bucket for my white TK. The AP has the asymmetrical look to it which I didn't want at the time. My question... why not a TE2?
  15. Do the TE2 as the TD... let the MR CE be the clean white... that's my opinion. Since the MR is "stylized" leave it that way... let it be clean and "nice". And TDs look much better with screen accurate armor I think! Oh... and your link isn't working Heatshock.
  16. Yep, got to just cut them off... it's not pretty, but that's what to do. ---------- Good luck! It's a great bucket!!
  17. FIVE

    Feeling ill

Hope you feel better soon man! Seems to be something going around I've heard.
  18. Yeah... what's the "addiction" part? Sounds like all you talked about is what a normal, healthy male should be doing with his life now-a-days. Welcome!
  19. Might work... don't know. I used the MMD Putty... but if you're not going to repaint then you don't want to use that. Whatever you do post pics and good luck!!
  20. I vote stunt. Just looks more like most people 'remember' them looking I think.
  21. Sweet build man! Congrats! (and a belated welcome)
  22. That's a great looking site... he doesn't have a way to contact him via the site, so if anyone knows him let him know----- Great stuff!
  23. Hey Jennifer, Congrats on wearing your armor out for a "first time!" Just so you know it took me about 2 weeks of putting my armor on literally every day... walking up the stairs, down the stairs, standing around, moving, and just keeping it on for 30 minutes or so to figure out where to trim or fix or whatever before I got it all perfect. Yes, trim some of the curve out of the forearms. I did it. My brother did it. It's needed in a lot of people. Just start "thin" and trim more and more. Of course there's a lot worse things that trimming a little too much from your forearms. As for the pinching in the crotch, trimming out some of the cod piece might be a good idea... but I can't talk on this subject as mine was / is fine. You might also try / consider wearing an athletic supporter (a "cup"). It might give you the... umm... "bulk"... that's not otherwise there. But... like I said... I don't know for sure how to fix that problem.
