  1. Mike is working on some super accurate screen printed decals for my helmets. The originals did seem not to fit, but I think we should have some that do fit for those that like a neat finish. I have never seen any ROTJ buckets with painted tears and traps. JoeR
  2. ABS does yellow with sunlight and just with the course of time. It can be fixed easily though...
  3. TM is right, no square frowns show up in ROTJ, except that my square frown helmet came from the set of ROTJ. It may not have been used and as it was given to a young boy (whose family had connections in the business). It could have been a spare backup helmet or deep background, but there is zero evidence it was used in the film. The visit was documented in a Star Wars Insider article. But TE's helmet is detailed like a screen used helmet but had the ANH style ears. DM Wearing the Screen style finished helmet with the ANH/ESB ears The whiter helmet at the front is from the 911 Charity auction and has a LFL COA with it, it is the same shape as my helmet, whereas the TE original and replica are much fatter in the face with the ANH/ESB ears. Weird... I don't think we can be sure of anything with any certainty, the mixed and matched all sorts. Joe
  4. Welcome back buddy! House moves are one of the most stressful things you can do, especially with a family. Now get the plastic out.
  5. The TM hero's look awesome. Check KEITH's build up thread of the archive helmet. And yes Karin pictures please!
  6. Nice to see something different, looking forward to this. Joe
  7. Edit answered my own question. Joe
  8. I also love to know. Joe
  9. Amazing work as always Keith. You are a true master and your attention to detail is second to none. If anyone wants an assembled helmet by Keith drop one of us a pm. Joe
  10. Sorry yeah that's what I meant to say!
  11. The originals look like faded gloss or possibly satin, so I normally use satin. Joe
  12. Hi Rick That is what Keith posted on the RPF. His point being that it doesn't match the originals. The workmanship is amazing, no doubt about it, but it is not what is it purported to be.
  13. Awesome picture thanks for posting that Paul.
  14. The TIE is clearly not cast from an original as Keith has rightly stated on the RPF. A picture speaks a thusdand words as they say. As a community I don't think we deserve to be lied to. Yes it is a great replica, but especially as you have said you will be selling these, you have a duty to be truthful with fellow collectors. Joe
  15. Looking good boyo!
  16. Yeah I have seen that video. There was definitely armour, I think it was either ROTJ suits or copies of ROTJ suits, someone like TM will know.
  17. Thanks fellas. In the theme of troopers helping troopers we will also be sending our brother in Europe Rolf H a helmet kit as well as he had a tough year last year and is a super Dad! Over and out.... JoeR
  18. TE also said that some of the ANH helmets in the archives had decals too, I suppose these could have been added post production but the picture is what it is... ------- - PS: awesome comps Tom!
  19. Steve Gonsoulin aka Monoman527911. Congratulations Steve, drop me an email and we can sort out the details and get your free swag on its way! To all those who didn't win but kindly made the effort to enter the competition, thank you and there will be another draw in February! Joe
  20. Happy Birthday fellas! Butah Fett, itrooper (40), darth motormouth (35), Corbadda (26), Bluehentrooper (26), The Kreator (31), Fleetfang (35), Nicho Pace (19) Joe
  21. No problems. I think that the ESB/ROTJ background helmet molds were different from the Hero style helmets in ROTJ. The TE helmet had ANH style ears as well but was finished like a Hero ROTJ helmet, when I say Hero I mean the only style that show up on screen, wonky with the new sculpted ears. Joe
  22. The TE ROTJ helmets were cast from the outside of the original and it was a very ANH looking original helmet, much less wonky than my ROTJ helmets. TE's look more like the background ESB/ROTJ helmets to me. Joe
  23. Congrats Karin. Always a pleasure to speak to and great skills too!
  24. Keith's method was awesome and worked really well. The originals had load of glue seeping out around the edges. -----------
