  1. If you're having issues with the mic staying in place, use a little surgical tape and tape the wire to your face. Or you can wear a faceless balaclava and put that over the mic strap and it'll hold it in place better. Oh, you could also permanently fix the mic to the inside of your helmet and then you'd not need to worry. Remember that with a wireless mic comes the addition of another battery to worry about.
  2. This is great work, guys. I'm in the UK so be sure to post when the episode airs and I'll see if I can get hold of it somehow.
  3. Think I'll give this one a miss unless a friend gets it and I can test it out on my laptop to see how it runs. I haven't had a desktop PC in about 5+ years.
  4. I was going to get it. Then I went online and checked the minimum specs. 2.0ghz minimum processor speed? FFS! My BAND NEW laptop only has 1.6 ghz It might pass everything else with flying colours 7 gig ram. 2.9 gig of video ram. Ugh. I'm hugely annoyed.
  5. Here's a couple of photos. Loads of photos were taken but the group I was with didn't have the photographer, but no matter. Enough photos were taken by the public. Please ignore the 'armour errors' They will be fixed before the next one. Full credit goes to the photographer. I'm in the middle.
  6. Hi all. Just got back from my first troop and all I can say is "Wow". Walking out in TK armour to see a swarm of people Christmas shopping was a bit daunting at first, but then you see their eyes light up and the smiles. It's incredible. I swear I posed for "Over 9000" photos. At first I was smiling at the camera, giving a menacing scowl, then realized I had a helmet on and nobody could see my face. The store was far bigger than I thought it would be, but that was a good thing as there were LOADS of people all over the place. I was the 'silent trooper' for most of the troop as my Rom F/X and microphone decided not to do what I wanted so I just had to do some hand gestures. Also whilst wearing armour you can get away with saying stuff you wouldn't normally say - nothing rude - but when else could you tell someone to get on their knees and put their hands on their head. Oh and the ladies LOVE a guy in uniform. Sadly I don't have any pics to post as I didn't manage to take any. I'll ask the other members that trooped with me if they took any and if they did I'll update here. Armour will need some mods here and there but nothing major. I'm just glad to be home now so I can actually sit down for the first time since 11am.
  7. Tomorrow marks a 'special' day as it is my first troop and therefore my induction. It's at a store called 'John Lewis' and we will be wandering around the toy department, I've given my armour the once over before tomorrows event and I'm already thinking "Damn these shins! Stop riding up off my boots!" Then I'm thinking "Are my biceps too high or too low? I hope these shoulder bells stay in place" I guess it's normal to worry. Hopefully I'll have some pictures to post for you all to see tomorrow. I'll also be taking some trading cards to possibly sign for people if they want one.
  8. Nah I don't think so. I'm in the process of getting a TB (Biker) costume together. It's personal preference really. Some like the clean look of the TK, some the weathered look of the TD. TB has it's obvious advantages.
  9. Shaundi? Cool stuff. I'm more a fan of Kinzie at the moment though. Would be a great outfit to make.
  10. That is certainly an interesting looking helmet. Looks like he was standing guard and Wile e coyote dropped an anvil on his head.
  11. Awesome suit and pics. Just wondering. Do you talk normally or go around saying "Uhhhh, Wurghh,,muhhhh" and other such zombie esq noises?
  12. It's a shame you can't reply with "Aren't you too ugly to be a human?" But also we have to behave ourselves in the garrison.
  13. Nice build. Also nice guitar collection, but I notice a serious lack of BC rich warbeast guitars
  14. Dude. Just use some tape. Honestly. I've no return edge on my armour either and mine would ride up like yours if I hadn't put tape on the inside. But at the end of the day you can do whatever you like.
  15. I'm in the UK and I'd love to incorporate a troop into a US holiday.
  16. Hmm. Do you have any elastic holding the butt plate to your back plate? Also, you could put some ductape on the inside seam and that'll hold it in better.
  17. I'm not a member of the RPF so I can't even view the armour.
  18. But they'd be green or black. I wear my glasses under my lid.
  19. I can't sit down at all in mine. I can see what's causing the problem. It's the front of the thigh sticking into my cod. I might take a little bit off but I don't really know if I'll bother. I can sorta sit down if I have LOADS of leg room.
  20. I have a pair of dyed jodhpurs (Or however you spell them). I can post pics if you like.
  21. I use foam in mine. I did have a hardhat liner, but it began to annoy me. Foam is comfy, just make sure you're not irritated by it.
  22. At the end of the day you get what you pay for. ATA is 'cheap' but not cheap and nasty cheap. It is allot of fun building and painting your own lid. As for the lineage of the helmet. I'm not really sure. But I'm no expert.
  23. Can't seem to log in over at the 501st website. Resent password but still no joy. How strange :S
  24. A stunning suit you have there. Can't see there being any issues.
