  1. FX armour is pretty darn big. The helmet is huge no matter how big your head is. I'd not bother buying it if I were you.
  2. Looks like you're off to a fantastic start. Don't think there's anything I can offer, yo seem to have it covered.
  3. Thanks for the link. Guy is a complete douche.
  4. I posted about this a little while ago. I'd like to play it, but my laptop isn't powerful enough, sadly.
  5. Don't think I'm familiar with this fella. I'm not a member of the RPF, so can someone clue me in?
  6. I can't post a pic of it, but inside mine I have foam at the top, a fan and my Rom F/X.
  7. Happy Christmas to everyone at the FISD (My second family).
  8. On a semi-related note. I use a stanley chest to transport my E-drums. Not that they go anywhere, but I have one should I ever need to transport it anywhere.
  9. What's wrong with the helmet? It looks grand to me. Or do you mean you're replacing it with an ESB or ROTJ bucket?
  10. Hmm. Are they clearable? I'm not sure of the shape and the side elastic looks huge. Might just be the pictures, though.
  11. Congrats on your first troop. I did my first troop this week and I can understand you when you talk about your armour. I had one or two issues with mine - the cod being one of them. It was fine at first, but after 4 hours it started to dig in a bit. Now you've done your fist troop, you know what needs to be altered before your next one.
  12. Yeah you need to pick a bag or case depending on how you're gonna transport the armour. As Ill most likely always use the train, I chose a big sports bag type thing. It has wheels on it, but it isn't a suitcase. It's big enough to hold everything minus my lid and as it's soft I can just put it on the seat next to me.
  13. ATA would fit you well. I'm 5' 10" and 10 stone. I don't have ATA armour but it will fit you. I'd avoid RT mod as you'll end up cutting away a huge portion of it. Also try and avoid getting the eFX helmet. It's rather on the large side and looks like one of those bobble head dolls.
  14. 14" forearms? Dayum. That's as big as my biceps! lol. Yeah looks like you'll probably need to get hold of some new ones. RT mod should be cool. Best thing to do is get in touch with the various armour makers and give them your measurements and they'll be able to sort you out.
  15. Just tried skyrim which has similar minimum specs and it runs like an asthmatic ant with some heavy bags. So I guess I won't be getting the game now.
  16. If you're having issues with the mic staying in place, use a little surgical tape and tape the wire to your face. Or you can wear a faceless balaclava and put that over the mic strap and it'll hold it in place better. Oh, you could also permanently fix the mic to the inside of your helmet and then you'd not need to worry. Remember that with a wireless mic comes the addition of another battery to worry about.
  17. Think I'll give this one a miss unless a friend gets it and I can test it out on my laptop to see how it runs. I haven't had a desktop PC in about 5+ years.
  18. I was going to get it. Then I went online and checked the minimum specs. 2.0ghz minimum processor speed? FFS! My BAND NEW laptop only has 1.6 ghz It might pass everything else with flying colours 7 gig ram. 2.9 gig of video ram. Ugh. I'm hugely annoyed.
  19. Here's a couple of photos. Loads of photos were taken but the group I was with didn't have the photographer, but no matter. Enough photos were taken by the public. Please ignore the 'armour errors' They will be fixed before the next one. Full credit goes to the photographer. I'm in the middle.
  20. Hi all. Just got back from my first troop and all I can say is "Wow". Walking out in TK armour to see a swarm of people Christmas shopping was a bit daunting at first, but then you see their eyes light up and the smiles. It's incredible. I swear I posed for "Over 9000" photos. At first I was smiling at the camera, giving a menacing scowl, then realized I had a helmet on and nobody could see my face. The store was far bigger than I thought it would be, but that was a good thing as there were LOADS of people all over the place. I was the 'silent trooper' for most of the troop as my Rom F/X and microphone decided not to do what I wanted so I just had to do some hand gestures. Also whilst wearing armour you can get away with saying stuff you wouldn't normally say - nothing rude - but when else could you tell someone to get on their knees and put their hands on their head. Oh and the ladies LOVE a guy in uniform. Sadly I don't have any pics to post as I didn't manage to take any. I'll ask the other members that trooped with me if they took any and if they did I'll update here. Armour will need some mods here and there but nothing major. I'm just glad to be home now so I can actually sit down for the first time since 11am.
  21. Tomorrow marks a 'special' day as it is my first troop and therefore my induction. It's at a store called 'John Lewis' and we will be wandering around the toy department, I've given my armour the once over before tomorrows event and I'm already thinking "Damn these shins! Stop riding up off my boots!" Then I'm thinking "Are my biceps too high or too low? I hope these shoulder bells stay in place" I guess it's normal to worry. Hopefully I'll have some pictures to post for you all to see tomorrow. I'll also be taking some trading cards to possibly sign for people if they want one.
  22. Nah I don't think so. I'm in the process of getting a TB (Biker) costume together. It's personal preference really. Some like the clean look of the TK, some the weathered look of the TD. TB has it's obvious advantages.
  23. Shaundi? Cool stuff. I'm more a fan of Kinzie at the moment though. Would be a great outfit to make.
