  1. Good luck. Hope your build is trouble free, unlike mine. But unlike me you went and bought your armor from a good source.
  2. Email sent regaring this matter. Just incase it didn't get through, I'm after the 4 bump stunt ears. Cheers.
  3. Cheers guys. Will get those sorted out as well then. If there's anyone even thinking of getting armour off the ebay, my advice is to steer clear. Then again, there might be a poor(stupid?) sap like me who leapt before he looked. Now all I need is ab buttons that arn't 'reversed' and hopefuly that'll be all I need to get sorted apart from the obvious fitting malarky.
  4. Looking around the 501st website, here and the UKG. It appears that ANH stunt helmet requires 3 bumps on the ears. Mine doesn't have any. Will this mean I can't be approved?
  5. My lid is too huge even for my rather large head + lots of hair. Even with a bit of foam in the top it sort of...slopes towards my chin and my mouth is right up against the front. I breath out twice and my lenses fog up. I've ordered one of those hard hat insert things, so it'll then sit on my head properly.
  6. I had similar problems with latex masks in the past. Sometimes stuff would get to me in a week, other times I'd have to wait a month. It CAN get stuck in customs and what with all the fuss with security and whatnot, they do check more packages than they used to. Also, I've checked tracking numbers and got no information back and then the same day or next day it would arrive and the same useless info would be on the website. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, because I can totaly sympathise and understand the wait for something to arrive with no real help or info from the mail courier/company.
  7. Here are a few pics of my armor. It has not yet been fitted to my size. I don't even want to THINK about attempting to bend/cut/trip/sand etc the armor to fit. No idea what armor it is, maybe someone with more knowledge can tell me.
  8. Thanks for the offer, but I'm gonna leave the ears as they are for now. I'll just paint a stripe I think. I think I've spent enough £££ for the moment, but I'll keep you in mind should I decide to change things up. I've got more pressing issues at the moment. Trying to work out how I'm gonna bend and fit this armor to myself.
  9. Thanks for the replies. I do have decal stickers for the cheeks and the back of the helmet, I just haven't put them on yet. My 2 main concerns were the paint on the ears..I'm 'sure' it should have a black line/stripe somewhere. And secondly, how on earth do I attach the mesh to the hovi tips? Do they just get pushed in and stay there, or do I need some sort of glue? Once I get chance I'll take pics of the armor for you all to see and you can advise me on any alterations I'd need before attempting to apply for 501st membership. (Once I get myself some gloves and I finish dying my jodhpur boots.)
  10. My armor JUST came back and it looks alright to me. Needs some fitting later I think. Well I'm wondering, first off, if this is an FX helmet or not. If it isn't, what is it? Why is there no detailing on the ear pieces? Should there be? Im going for ANH stunt. Also how do I attach the hovi tips mesh?
  11. Checked my car (Peugeot 206) and it doesn't even have door vents So you can count that model out.
  12. I know everyone is hating on the Rubies, but for a mass produced costume, it really is quite impressive. When I first read the title, I thought it was a legitimate, serious question and I was gonna go off on one about Lucas destroying my theory with his clones BS. How I'd always imagined that the remaining troops left the empire and went back home. I often wondered how many were forced (No pun intended) to join the empire. Anyways, the video is pretty creative. There are some talented guys out there in internet land.
  13. Colour me a shade of gobsmacked. That is awesome. Truly you have made something of epic-ness.
  14. Can't recall seeing anything like that on my car door, but I'll have a look in the 'morrow.
  15. 3 of my favourite things. #1 Rock band #2 Metallica #3 Star wars.
  16. I had tacky paint on my E-11 when I painted it, so I gave it a coat of clear coat and now it's fine.
  17. I'm gonna sound like a parrot, but yeah. Do all that's been said already. Hold off with the armor untill AFTER you've given birth and you're back on your feet. It honestly doesn't take forever to get your armor fitted. Get hold of other things in the meantime. Blaster, Neckseal, Fan, Microphone, holster. You might want to hold off ordering an undersuit as well. Although it has some give, as you've no idea how big - or small you'll be after you give birth, it's better to wait and see. You could get shoes, but don't your feet sometimes swell up?
  18. I bought mine online and it has a double zip so taking a..err...toilet break doesn't mean I have to take the whole thing off.
  19. I cut it off with a dremel, filed it flat and sanded it and glued the sucker on.
  20. Thats a sweet helmet. Looks really, really good. You did a cracking job on it.
  21. I've seen some crap masks in my time, but that REALLY takes the cake. I bet it looks 'dark' (sic) good in the dark from a few feet away. I've made better looking things out of paper mache when I was just doing a test.
  22. Reading this has now made me a little worried. My suit is aparently 'FX' armor. I'm 5'10" and about 10 stone 144lbs or 66KG. I have no clue if it'll require trimming or not, I will have to wait till it comes back. Another 'problem' is it's pre-trimmed and strapped. Ugh. If only I found this place BEFORE I bought the armor.
