  1. I have a little pouch thing I stuff in my holster. It only fell out once. Thankfully pickles found it as it happened. -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Looks good to me. I bet rob has one mold for both biceps. If it were in the crl i would feel better about asking him to make one without the thumb print. Nice work -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. When I read the title of this thread I immediately thought: FIRE BAD! -Eric (RIP Phil Hartman)
  4. I see it as a way to get them to post more about trooping. I just want to read more troop reports. Is that too much to ask. I personally try to troop as much as my life allows and don't need an incentive system. Let's discuss the mechanics of it at a later date in another forum. -Eric
  5. Well... this an idea that has been kicking around. If it happens it would likely occur after elections in February. -Eric
  6. On the cover strips... roughly: 15mm for arms, 20mm leg fronts, 25mm leg backs. Good to see you over here Chris. I was beginning to wonder if anyone from SLD actually "built" anything. -Eric
  7. Usually small children. If you don't crush at least one of them under your field of view, you're not trooping. -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Head over to the Imperial Officer forum. They can probably help you sort out the costume. http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/ -Eric
  9. Congrats brother -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. This got an actual laugh in an out loud manner. No one ever has left over snaps -Eric
  11. Even if all belts were trimmed and sized the same (which they're not) don't get hung up on measurements made in millimeters. Just put the rivet covers where you think they look good based on the reference photos and go on with your life. No one will ever get a ruler out to measure how far off your corners or rivet covers are. -Eric
  12. Amen. Please post on SLD what you find out. The chippy calves are too loose for my liking I'd like something more form fitting. So between this guy and liquidsolidchewy do we now have two reliable vendors for TK boots? -Eric -Eric
  13. I have a split cod because that's how my RT-MOD came. I like it because my kit packs really nicely in a bag for air travel but I hate it because its one more set of snaps I have to deal with... and sometimes it shifts around under my belt when I am actively dancing around (which is often). It is nice because I can sorta sit in my armor because of it but at the end of the day I would rather have a one piece ab/cod plate. I suggest trooping it a half dozen times before you decide to do it or anything major to your armor. Your armor is never "done" anyways so just add it to the list of things you plan to tweak someday. It will not hinder your centurion approval at all. -Eric
  14. It will be easier to fix the butt plate problem once the whole torso is in place. I wouldn't bend it or do anything until everything else is strapped up and not taped. Certainly adding snap plates to the very outer edges of your butt plate will help... you may also be able to adjust the belt vertically by shifting your ab around but not until everything is place. -Eric
  15. Holy sh!t. Best shims ever. -Eric
  16. Moar RT mod! Squeaky's style of peer pressure is hard to resist I'm sure. It must be the way he struts around in that RS of his. You're in good hands up in Canadia for sure. Don't hesitate to post here or PM me if you need help. -Eric
  17. I can't wait for another Centurion in the New England Garrison -Eric
  18. First off... F them. Join the 501st and instantly gain 6934 new friends worldwide who totally accept your passion for this hobby. New friends wasn't my original motivation for joining the Legion, but now it is one of the main reasons I love being a member. As others have said... ask them what their passion or hobby is and you'll find that either they don't have one or its totally self serving. Your answer "Oh? Really? Does your hobby help raise $14 million dollars a year doing volunteer work?" Rest assured "geek" culture has never been more popular. Cosplay is mainstream. Con attendance has skyrocketed. New cons appear every day all across the world. Shows like Big Bang Theory is a great indicator of the rise of the nerd. Most of us are semi normal professional people of sorts. Otherwise how else would we afford this madness? I think a lot of people think we're some sort of basement dwelling mouth breathers (aka: Star Trek fans). But really wait until they see you in your armor, and wait until they see kids faces light up when you walk around the neighborhood. They make change their mind on how cool or uncool you are. And they don't.... again... F them. -Eric
  19. Don't trip over the red tape... or burn yourself jumping through that flaming hoop. -Eric
  20. I'll check my RT forearms later today but Rob does leave a lot on the wrist side compared to the original suits and Centurion standards. I trimmed mine back quite a bit but not all the way as I should have. My forearms are technically too short on me and they're strapped too close to my elbow and my gloves pop out now and then when I'm dancing around. -Eric More from the LFL archives:
  21. What a badass collaboration between detachments! A big thank you to everyone that took time out of their busy lives to write something and to the PR staffs of both dets. I would like to recognize one trooper (who doesn't even have an approved TK yet!) in particular who raised his hand to help out with the graphics for this newsletter. Thank you Clint (cm325i) for creating the headers for this newsletter and putting up with the staff's nitpicky requirements. Nice job everyone... now back to your post! -Eric
  22. I know that I'm one of the guys who runs this here forum... but maybe someday someone can explain to me the difference between the HOWTO and the tutorial forums. Maybe safety wire twister pliers would make things easier? (those are a little cheap but you get the idea. -Eric
  23. I think a ton of people use tandy snaps. Do a search for tandy on FISD. Did you mean to paste a link in your last post? And you'll use about twice as many snaps as you think for your build. -Eric
  24. The force is soooo sleeeepy. -Eric
