  1. I wasn't disagreeing.... Only poking fun. -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. If it weren't for the moaning basterds, would there be an internet with which to research on? Mark: Right or wrong (and you're totally right) you do realize you're moaning about all the moaning. -Eric
  3. Hey Rod... get a shot of the belt on the ab from the side and front when you get a chance. The RT belt is longer than the belt pictured in the Billogram and the ab is certainly bigger. Using measurements may have different results. I'm concerned that your holster won't be in the right place in relation to your body. Your drop boxes line up nicely with the end of the belt but be prepared for them to be a little further outboard than the screen used ones. I did my belt last after I got everything else fitted just to be sure it all lines up properly. Nice clean methodical skilled work. Your photos are quality too. We've had some really great RT build threads this year for sure. -Eric
  4. Before I got my hyperfirm I wrapped it in a towel. Eventually I ended up keeping it in my holster and then wrapping the whole thing in a towel. It helps that my holster can come off my belt with snaps. The towel in general takes up way too much room if you're trying to pack light. Now that my blaster is rubbery I care a lot less about protecting it. -Eric
  5. And then there was the gangnam style incident that we were involved in. -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. This got a laugh hard enough for someone in public to ask wtf was so funny. That was me who enjoys the freedom of saying butt and cod. -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Because the IOC DL is a badass TK and the XO founded FISD. The XO of CTN is also a TK. So maybe that's why? -Eric
  8. Holstering is a challenge for sure. I have a very rigid holster which helps. (Thanks Gazmosis!) I've found the iComm PTT to almost never work. I VOX every time. I crank my thigh garters pretty tight or else they do the same thing. It's girdly. I highly suggest Echo's fan setup. Totally worth it. Search for tactical helmet padding on Amazon. I find various pads places in the bucket more comfy than any other padding. Rubies has an orange toy blaster that, if spray painted black, will serve as a disposal blaster. Or buy a hyperfirm which can be happily tossed around. I also tell kids that it's my toy and I don't like sharing. "Mine!" And he's the man child factor is often very high. Understandably so. -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Glue and a lot of clamps is the way to go. Let it cure for a day or two after clamping it into submission. Who made your armor? Post a few photos of it and we may be able to make more recommendations. A little bit of foam behind the sniper knee at the top of the shin will stop it from digging in. Rivets are inadvisable from an accuracy standpoint. -Eric
  10. Thigh pack looks good from what I can see. Both Mike (Narc!) and my thigh packs are tilted up slightly. I have mine taped up with (Mike's actually) white duct tape so it doesn't fall down. If you look at the video from the white armor march from fan expo you'll see me reaching down to lift it up a few times on the escalators. Take a photo from the side when you get a chance. -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks man. FYI there are more photos in my WIP on SLD (and other acronyms). -Eric
  12. Yeah man. Shiny! -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Yep. This is my way of saying I was approved The same as always... troop your shiny white assses off as often as possible... and then write about it here on FISD -Eric
  14. Make a lamp out of it The FX helmet is also no longer approvable under the current costume requirements. -Eric
  15. As SL-9674 I'm just going to leave this right here... because black is the new white.
  16. RT-MOD should be able to pull a chest and back for you fairly quickly. I have no idea of the ABS color will match. -Eric
  17. Holy crap! Nicely done. -Eric
  18. The question about AM is if they changed their thighs and legs for 2.0. If so I think AM would work for you with an RT chest and back. Or at least an RT chest. He's even putting a return edge on the bottom of his chest plates these days. MTK shimmed on the sides may be an option for you as well but I'd like to see MTK in person before I really say that. I've got a 38" waist at the moment. My RT mod was able to fit nicely when I was a 40" waist too. I'm 6'5" and weight anywhere between 235 to 240 depending on the season. There's a good chance I'm going TM soon with the longer shins in spite of my waist size. I will likely buy a pair of man spanx... not really... ...ok I really might. -Eric
  19. The word from MTK himself is that his armor will fit up to a 36" waist without shimming. I have no confirmation of that but I believe him. -Eric
  20. Juan: You make the whole detachment proud to finally have you among the ranks of EIB and shortly... Centurion. -Eric
  21. That's totally it. Weird. I've never noticed that before. I'm sure Novatie will be long shortly to upgrade your status. -Eric
  22. Worst armor ever. (and a terrible eye for detail I might add) -Eric
  23. Are you using a directional mic? I switched to a better mic and all my feedback problems went away. I'm super annoyingly loud. I guess I should say that my aker hangs around my neck using the strap that it came with. It ends up sitting sorta almost in my ab plate but not quite. It shifts around way too much for my liking, but I also tend to move (dance) around too much for a lot of people's liking. -Eric
  24. Clamps?! He's got the cooler aker mount. -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
