  1. Awesome. More RT-MOD. Cruising right along! Thread followed. -Eric
  2. Hey man... overall looks pretty good. Are you using snaps on the outside of your belt for your hero holster attachment? They should be rivets or chicago screws maybe. Yours also look a little far apart. Do they line up with your holster straps? If you want a removable holster (like I have) I suggest riveting a snap to the belt a la Billy Haggis: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/4553-holster-attachment/?p=62524 Nice progress trooper. -Eric
  3. A-MAZING! Are you bringing 3PO to Celebration? -Eric
  4. You're totally right. I'll put fixing the HWT CRL photos on my todo list for 2015. -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Nate: were you thinking of gluing those in your armor instead of snaps? With snaps there isn't much adjustment to be done once you get the lengths right. That may take a few troops to decide what elastic needs to be changed but as soon as you're dialed in there is no need to mess with it. I think if you used those little cam buckle things every time you put your armor together your strapping would be different lengths. Imagine trying to find the right fit every time you trooped. It takes long enough to kit up as is Fixed length elastic with snaps is super repeatable. -Eric
  6. Cruising right along Mike. Thread followed -Eric
  7. Hopefully (if the vote goes well) we'll have a new LMO very soon that is amenable to moving forward with this CRL. He happens to be very pro TK given that is name is: stormtrooperguy -Eric
  8. This here seems to be the original poster with similar (cheezy) wording:
  9. I think MNS should have his/her own spinoff movie. -Eric
  10. Awesome. The lights are a classy touch. I dig it. -Eric
  11. Cool poster! Great looking bucket. Also... old and vintage is redundant. -Eric
  12. Not a story per se... It's more about the creepy way my flowery shorts bunch.... that's a big part of the story. -Eric
  13. Funny... the first racing shirt box I opened had yours starting right at me. It is now probably buried as I went to look for mine -Eric
  14. Ooookay. I'm back. I am off work for the next couple days to be able to legion and FISD matters. Bring it on. So... what day and time is it exactly? -Eric
  15. Ugh. I am in the first of two airports. Trying to catch up with Legion stuff. There are eleventeen thousand messages waiting for me. I arrive back in Boston the morning of the 17th. EDT. Thank you all for your continued patience. -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Take a look at the photo reference galley here on FISD. The Lucasfilm archives show actual screen used armor parts. You'll see there that the cover strips are just flat (literal strips) plastic. -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I like puppies. And trooping around in my plastic spaceman outfit. Maybe we can all take it down a notch and take our internet life a little less seriously? Please let's get back to the armor building. -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Congrats to you too Mr DL of spec ops -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Good luck trooper but I suspect this is an easy pass. This is hilarious and should go on your trading card: "What?! Come at me bro!" -Eric
  20. Aloha, I am unable to properly express my extreme gratitude to everyone for electing me as your FISD Detachment Leader for 2015. I am humbled by the swell of support I received during the election, much of it coming from unexpected directions. I cannot thank everyone enough, especially the TKs of the Canadian Garrison and the United Kingdom Garrison. Their collective belief in me buoyed me through a difficult Q&A period. I hope everyone is as glad as I am to put election behind us because it is time to get to work. I have a long list of goals for 2015. Here is the short list that I intend to work on right out of the gate: Continue with the charter to increase the FISD sense of inclusiveness and “Troopers Helping Troopers” ideology for both new and existing TKs. (read: make FISD warm, welcoming and fun) Produce formal attaché materials to educate local garrisons about various TK related construction methods and costume requirements. Add more entries to the TiKipedia that houses reference information for every TK armor part in the CRL. Create and implement a CRL change policy that ensures updates to the TK CRLs are voted in, implemented properly and with done with transparency Move the forum to a more powerful web server. Plan a TK meet and greet at Celebration Anaheim as well as a group photo. Punch and pie Offer new FISD and EIB swag. To answer the question of how I expect to get any of that done here is my staff for 2015. Executive Officer - WideAMG (Squeaky): Yes, yet another Steve. It is time to bring a fresh face to the staff. Squeaky has not been very active on FISD since his RS built but that doesn't mean he doesn't live and breath Troopers Helping Troopers. I expect him to be around full time as of this announcement. Locally he has helped many troopers with their builds and make a habit collecting reference materials for new recruits. I have tasked Steve with heading up the work on the TiKipedia and other howtos. I also may need to change his forum name to "Squeaky" soon. Deployment Officer - Gazmosis: Not much needs to be said here. Steve's dedication to reviewing and approving applications for EIB and Centurion is unparalleled. His charter is to continue his clear delineation between CRL related issues and the subjective fit of armor in his review. Provost Marshal - captsafe66: Mark is a pillar of level headed fairness. In case you did not know the PM position is the cop of FISD. The PM acts in the same capacity as the Legion Captain of the Guard. His mission for 2015 is to keep an eye on anyone not being warm, welcoming and fun. We need to put an end to not only the perception of assholery and elitism on FISD but actually stop it as it happens. Deputy Provost Marshal - Tolo: If you do not know of Eric you do not hang around FISD much. Tolo is always welcoming and helpful and his good nature will be a great addition to the PM team. What we need is a handful of people monitoring the tone of FISD and counseling people as issues come up. I may appoint a second DPM in a different time zone in the coming weeks. Public Relations Officer - evan_loh: Evan has been pumping out newsletters for a while now without the PRO title. His celebrity interviews have raised the bar on our already badass newsletters. Not only will he carry on with the newsletters but I want him to reinvigorate our social media presence as well. FISD Ambassador - Dark CMF: What is the FISD ambassador? The position was created for Clamps (who has stepped down from FISD staff to focus on being his garrison XO) as the head attache. This position will not only organize the attaches but work to create materials for them to bring to their recruits. Tim was the first and only person on my list for this job once Clamps told me of his decision to abandon us. Membership Officer - NoVATie: A.C.'s quiet dedication to setting up users's forum access is unwavering. Merchandise Officer - TK4205: Wyatt was one of the first members of FISD and has been running merch off and on for most of the forum's life. He cares a lot about our brand and the quality of the products we offer to our members. I've asked Wyatt to be the head of a merch team this year. I will be naming at least two deputies to spread the responsibility around so one person is not over burdened with ordering, shipping and receiving. Deputy Merchandise Officer - TBD Web Server Admins - svache and Locitus - This forum and web server could not survive without these two nerds. FISD Founder - Daetrin: Our collective conscious. Paul's ongoing gig is to reminds us why we are all here. That is the team in a great big bloody nutshell. From what I heard during the Q&A we need to be doing two things. First is to make FISD even more welcoming and to cut down on small number of people being (almost always well meaning) dicks. Two is to put out more FISD merch. My own third hope is to create the best reference material of any detachment in the Legion. My choice in staff reflects those goals. I still intend to appoint a Chief Party Officer. I am also looking for a professional web designer with a sizable portfolio to help redo our forum skin. My PM and email door is always open. With Unquestioned Loyalty and Aloha, -Eric
  21. Hey all. Just a quick update. I am still away from home for work but as of today I have better access to the Internet. That means I can finally start contacting people who I want on my staff for 2015. Expect an an announcement tomorrow on that. Right now I'm catching up on unread threads and making a plan. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience. -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Don't you mean "yayayayayayayayayyyy!" ? -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Hey everyone, Thank you for the warm congrats. Many people during elections (many non TKs) came out of the Death Star's woodwork to give their support while I was running. I remain really touched by it. Many thanks to Vern and Manny for raising their hand in willingness to serve the Empire. I am away from home for a little while with limited interwebs. I have many messages of congratulations to respond to including PMs here and other boards as well as email. If I don't answer right away, I promise it only a lack of bandwidth that prevents me from doing so. In the coming days I will be putting together a staff and a plan. Once I get all that sorted I'll make a little announcement. My gratitude goes to my favorite Swedish jerk for the last 12 months of his hard work and dedication. Mathias, it was a pleasure to serve as your XO. Thank you for ignoring me when I tried to resign at the start of your term. Not only am I humbled and honored... I am super stoked for 2015. All indications are that this will be the year of TK. Mahalo nui, -Eric (PS I merged both of the congratulatory threads into one)
  24. Hey Vern... as you've done many times in the past whenever you feel this level of outrage... you're welcome to PM the command staff if you have a concern. I've never ignored you when you've come to me with a complaint. You're welcome to send a message about this to me, Mathias and Mark... or just Mathias if you prefer. -Eric
