  1. If someone makes this system..put me down for one!
  2. I haven't really been following this, but it is an awesome idea and it looks like it is going to come out absolutely awesome! You have an awesome talent Paul.
  3. Good luck mate, you wear it well!
  4. True that. The movie ones were 20-25mm I believe, but as Pat said some troopers that have monstrous calf muscles resort to using bigger ones, up to about 30-35mm in some cases. How big is the gap at the widest point btw Derrek?
  5. I think that (like strapping) it's a personal preference thing. I always go thighs-boots-shins-random assortment of upper body haha
  6. I was on my phone, didn't even realise it was FX. Sorry Tyler, I acted like a bit of male genitalia there. It's not my place to judge someone's opinion. My apologies. Replacing them would definitely fix the double left shin issue (which I hear is really annoying to deal with) and could fix the gap. As a long-term solution buying new shins might be the best way to go, but in the short-term if you want to get approval as soon as you can you could just try this. -------
  7. Most people, I hope, would figure out how to put on their TK relatively quickly anyway. There isn't a huge variation of ways to do it.
  8. Avoid eBay mate, it's just not a good way to go. As the guys have said, let your budget build up a bit and get something right from the start. It's an uphill struggle to work with with 99% of eBay kits.
  9. He doesn't need new shins... O.o all he needs to do is use the cover strip + velcro system. Cut 4 strips of ABS about 20-25 mm in width, put two on the outside of the outer shin pieces with about half or more of their width hanging over the gap. Then put the other two strips on the inside of the inner shin pieces with about half or more of their width hanging into the gap. Stick white velcro on both pieces and voila, the gap is covered the shins are connected. This method basically makes it look like you have cover strips but they are really a cleverly disguised connection. That should work because the gap at its widest doesn't look all that big from the photos.
  10. You can't be approved if they don't close as far as I know. Unless your GML is a bit lax. If you add a piece of ABS on the inside of the shins that extends across the gap and then a piece on the outside of the shins that does the same, you can put velcro on them and have then close that way. I would put up pics to demonstrate but I am on my phone atm. I'm sure someone will chime in with pics or other alternatives.
  11. I hope so too, but it was Albin that posted this so I don't know which to believe...
  12. I've heard a lot more horror stories like this about pre-assembled armour than good stories. I'll never take that road.
  13. From a Facebook update: TK TwoTen Reporting fallen trooper: TD1373 Phil Tyre call sign Florida Phil has passed. Buckets off, trooper, you are relieved. God speed you to the other side...
  14. Moral of the story, don't buy pre-assembled armour if you are tank.
  15. I got my undersuit, neck seal, and gloves from www.stormtrooperundrrsuit.com The hand guards come with the kit as far as I know, and belts can be home made or bought from here on the boards. I bought my belt from TKittel and would do so again. He does good belts.
  16. Really? What part is it and what were you doing?
  17. I sit on chairs relatively easily, but one time (before my kit was trimmed down more) it made my belt snaps come off from my ab plate. Let me tell you, those snaps are a real slave Leia to snap back on when you are kitted up.
  18. I just wanted the ribbon. Just kidding! Glad I could help out, this community was and still is a fantastic resource!
  19. Awesome thanks mate. I'll get on those things ASAP. Thanks Matt.
