  1. FINALLY pulled my finger out after months and months of procrastination and joined the ranks in September. I am still not entirely happy with my getup though, and am going to be doing some major strapping overhauling and a few cosmetic changes this weekend before trying for Centurion.
  2. Spectre

    Sweet

Hahah not to mention the blaster has no scope and what looks to be U-channel...on a trooper with an ANH helmet.
  3. I am pretty sure that the AM sniper plate is too think compared to screen kits anyway. There should be a faint line along the edge of the plate that will show you where to cut.
  4. Did you stir it? If you just leave it sittting to dissolve it probably won't work. I've used this on many things, including major repairs to my helmet, and it has worked fine every time. You may be doing something wrong during the process.
  5. It's like that here. I wonder how much it costs to get placed as a sponsored advert on google searches..
  6. Yeah, they say they don't endorse any particular maker but they should back the vetted makers and go through a process to validate any new makers and get them vetted. If you aren't vetted and can't prove the molds/armour is yours, then you can't sell it on 501st garrisons/detachments. It wouldn't be as clear cut as that, but you get my drift.
  7. I don't think MTK are made anymore are they? I was under the impression he had stopped. I hope he hasn't, cos they were amazing quality and value!
  8. Saw that. What a shame, I was having a good discussion with a few people.
  9. Indeed. A discussion that has been made before and is floating somewhere on these boards I am sure. Anyway, LFL turn a blind eye to people making armour, as we ARE their preferred costuming organisation (or so I hear). As long as the person isn't blatantly marketing the armour to make a profit they don't mind IIRC. I'd call that giving permission..
  10. The 501st Legion does not have a stance on recasting and does not support one maker over another. It is frustrating, especially in this case where it is a fan scult being recasted, and Paul has put in so much time, effort and money to make his armour awesome. RTA are pathetic IMO.
  11. Yeah, I was sorta surprised that they bothered trying to sell at a Legion level after the debacle here..
  12. I've been thinking (wierd,I know) that it would be cool (in an idealized suit) to have some sort of ribbed latex seal around all the parts, so that any gap between your bodysuit and the armour is only seen as a 'spacey' looking seal. Sorta like the neck seal, but permanently attached to the part. I guess basically a 'real' environment seal. Not really functional, but just for looks. I reckon it would look cool especially on the forearms.. Maybe I'm just dreamin'.
  13. Yep, dremels can do damage of you aren't careful. I have a few nicks and chunks missing on my faceplate caused by a momentary loss of control of my dremel.
  14. You can still read all about them. Read the thread called RTA a few topics below this one in the recast discussion forum.
  15. http://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=72727 They're also doing mic tips, and while they claim that they are 'hovi mix mic tips' they actually have 'RTA' stamped on the side on them, and 'hovi mix' isn't on there anywhere. (I know cos I bought a set for a mate, the photos don't show it I think) Before anyone starts an argument here I am simply passing on the observation that they are now selling at a legion level. I don't want this to be a recast argument thread. If you wanna argue about the armour/mic tips lineage start your own thread. Or I'll get a mod to lock it.
  16. What do you mean? That's a beautiful helmet.
  17. If these go ahead (as they seem to be) I'll definitely be up for one depending in the price. Great work!
