  1. Because THAT is Paul. I tried using velcro for just this during my build...and just no. Having people hold it against you is easier IMO
  2. Who knows?
  3. Hacks. That's all doctored. I stand corrected, and I'll stand down from my points.
  4. Considering the 'TD' is black in that photo and the control panel doesn't look anything like in the movies I choose to disregard that as evidence. Baradium thingy: -----------
  5. *recycled parts from the sandies for the O2 canisters.
  6. I think that's a rocket launcher. They might have just recycled parts?
  7. I hear you there brother. I agree on that point, I usually alternate between O2 can and TD. But I try to stick to O2 can because my local garrison isn't up with our fancy FISD lingo and they think I mean a sandtrooper. Then I have to try and explain that no, I don't wear a sandtrooper on my belt.
  8. I like this Paul guy.
  9. Haha true. But apparently they only hold 20 minutes of oxygen so that does explain the need for the backpack.
  10. Vern, He's done all of those things. he's also got a pretty mad weathering job, I think you might Iike it. He knew all the other stuff already, but he was specifically curious about the lower t-track and the holes there. He does have a small piece of T-track there, but he wants to know if that will stop him from going for EIB? Thanks for the help so far guys, I'm sure he'll appreciate it.
  11. Well the evidence speaks for itself. TKs on the DS and anywhere in space have them. TDs don't, as they are stationed on planets. Hence they wouldn't need an O2 can, planets have oxygen. Also there are hoses going out of it on one of the troopers, can't remember which one, DarthFurious could argue the point better than I, he got me into that train of thought. EDIT: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Stormtrooper_armor John
  12. Haha trust me it's an O2 can. some EU crud called it a thermal detonator, and it's somehow stuck.
  13. Also why does everyone call the o2 canister a thermal detonator? It's not.
  14. I am asking on behalf of a fellow member as his internet is dead at the moment. He has built his blaster as an ESB promo blaster, and he has added the small piece of T-track as seen in the photo on the CRL: --------- However it's not in the requirements, and he is wondering if the picture is wrong or if the wording is just confusing. He said to say that he is 'swearing black and blue that there was an extra T-track'. He is also wondering how long the extra T-track is meant to be, because apparently the bayonet lug is in the wrong spot? Also how many holes are meant to be exposed on that section? Again, this is me asking on behalf of someone. Cheers, John
  15. A word of advice about those ones mate, the holster is a bit dodge. A mate of mine has a pair of them and the strip of material that holds the binders in at the top came off. Even after modding it he prefers to just carry them. So I advise getting just the binders and making your own holster or having a wrangler to hold them. This isn't an attack on the maker, cos the binders themselves are awesome; but I'd avoid the holster.
  16. I use something similar; it's basically just a really big sports bag that I picked up from Aussie Disposals for $65. I really do need to build a frame for it though, as it has the potential to cause damage otherwise.. I'm thinking of using aluminium, and putting thin foam padding around the sides and on the aluminium for a bit of extra protection. That should do it I think.
  17. Just a heads-up Pete unless they have a TAG account they won't be able to see the contents of that link. Well, they shouldn't be able to anyway.
  18. Hey mate believe me the investment is well worth it. I have a 5 hour round trip to get to any troop but even so it is so worth doing. You'll love it one you start.
  19. I trimmed off that piece for comfort. I can't imagine having that ride up somewhere unpleasant. Mate I'd recommend taking a bit off of the flap on the cod piece too. Not heaps, but some. Then round the edge off to avoid biting. Your return edges are looking quite good, and having not been sanded you've done a great job cutting! I would also recommend that you take all of the return edge out of the bottom of the shins. Otherwise it could throw off the sizing a bit. That and it could get uncomfortable/prematurely ruin the finish on your boots. (those things are expensive. ) Nice clean build so far mate, keep it up!
  20. Those hands look really, really funny for some reason. I look at them and can't help but laugh.
  21. As has been mentioned, beware pre-assembled. While it usually comes good there is always risk involved. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=19541 That was a member of my garrison who had a rather nasty experience with pre-built armour.
  22. Exactly! Vern knows what he's on about.
  23. Again, have you trooped with it on? Or just tried it on while standing/sitting still? Also breathe out of your nose too, don't breathe out of your mouth or you're just asking for trouble.
  24. Wait have you actually trooped with it on or does it just fog up when you've tried it on? When you're trooping moving around circulates air and hey presto! Generally defogs.
  25. That's bad. :/
