Some people have to put shims at their sides because their armor doesn't fits as we would want to. Would that exclude us then?

I took some time today and decided to go and weather my blaster. here is the result I decided to go with the "went through hell" look but anyways, it looks really good to me. But the damage i gave to the hengstler counter looks wrong, i think i'll need to improve it and give it a more realistic look.

I'm sorry to bump into this thread, but, does the butt plate needs a return edge at the top? I also have the AM armor and it has a return edge by default, so I'm wondering if after I trim probably half an inch (or less) off it, do I need to give it a return edge?
