  1. Here is a pic of the kit, partially unwrapped. I was checking out a few pieces for fitting -----------
  2. If I do sell it, it would be as a complete kit for sure. Not sure what I want to do with it yet though. I am going to take a few pics because it really is like a time capsule, lol
  3. I am definitely going to upgrade the helmet because its WAY too big. I have an AP helmet for my TD, not sure which would be better for my wife because shes so short Doubt I would piece it out, seems like it lasted this long, may as well build it up
  4. Hi guys, As I said in that "help" thread, I picked up an unused FX kit today for $300. I know the helmet is frowned upon by the modern standards, but what about the armor? I have an AM kit that I bought and built as a TD, but either I will build this kit as a TK, or I am going to use it for my wife so she can join the legion. I would really like to use this kit if at all possible. Its kind of funny opening a complete kit from 2004 ( I was off a few years in my early estimate, but it still has the recepit. Giant helmet and all
  5. 3 piece helmet alreasdy assembled and well wrapped in foam, so its an FX kit 300 bucks though, cant complain
  6. He will be here shortly, then I can hopefully end this mystery, lol I was thinking FX too, but I am not sure how many different types of armor were floating around 6 years ago. He said it was $665 total
  7. I am looking at a kit today that was purchased in 2006-2007 and was shipped from Suisun, CA. The owner was in the military overseas in Iraq when it was bought, so he is not sure of the maker. Its been in a closet for half a decade untouched and unopened. Naturally, I will get some pics today, but I was hoping someone might know the maker from the city it came from.
  8. A trooper once told me that there were downloads of trooper "chatter" available, anyone have a link? I got my iComm in yesterday, I want to see how it sounds with my ipod going through it and me talking also
  9. I thought I had the plates upside down This is a pic of the accessories that came with it, it does have one or two ab plate covers and some other stuff. -------- How long is the wait on a new AM kit anyway? I was looking to get something that I can start on right away and this one popped up, so I snagged it. The helmet didnt come with the kit, thats one a buddy of mine made. I actually have 2 different ones on in the pics.
  10. The whole kit cost me 500 plus it came with an ATA helmet kit, pouches, pauldron, some triangle things that I still dont know what they are and a few other pieces. All that was missing (that I know of) was the boots cause they were way too small, gloves (too small) and waiting on the neck seal (which is prob too small as well, lol) I put everything on and took a few pics without adjusting anything. The straps were tight on one side, lookse on the other, one of the side straps had no hook, so I think with a little time and adjusting it can fit me "good" but not perfect. I think if I add shims on the sides, maybe on the calves and forearms too, it can come together as a nice kit, it just depends on how much extra $$ I am looking at. Worst case, I am sure someone can use this kit and I can just buy a new one. I have lost 15 lbs since february 1st, plan on dropping another 15-20, so I am going to avoid any cutting or permanent adjustments till then. I was really hoping to troop this one soon, but it still needs work. I dont think I look horrible in it, but you can see that it needs works ----- Sorry about the bare feet I think I can remove some padding from the calves and get a little spare room for starters, the forearms are not going to work without cutting though. Ahhh, the joys of costuming
  11. Well, I finally bought a set of used armor that hasn't been trimmed up, and I am having issues with it fitting. I bought an old FX kit, its really nice, but apparently I am too big for it at 6' and 235 lbs. Mt hands cant fit through the forearm armor, and there is way too much gap between the chest and back plate. What should I do? Would it be better to buy the few pieces and bash a kit together, or sell this whole suit and just buy a larger set of armor? Looks great too
  12. Whoops, I quoted "move along", it's based on the "how long have you had these droids" TD I think they look great,
  13. Looks high on the second pic, looks good in the first. Dunno. They will be here Monday for me to look at though!
  14. So, I was fortunate enough to trade off my vader helmet for 2 trooper helmets last week. What do you guys think? I got a battle damaged TK and a TD all customized to my liking. Pretty sweet looking I think, now I need a shiny white to go wth these! Move along! Plain White
