  1. you could just bring the helmet with you to the paint store and eyeball it. but if i remember correctly, most people painted the TE2 with rustolium gloss enamel or high performance enamel ----------- another option would be to bring the helmet to an auto body paint store and have them make you up a few cans of color matched paint. my local auto shop can do this for around 11$ a can. its a bit pricey but the colors are matched very close.
  2. yea, the ATA kidney can be tricky at first. but the best way to do it is study the reference materials. if i recall i just positioned it on my back and looked in the mirror . it should somewhat conform to the natural shape of your back and the outer edges should be fairly vertical. when it was up-side-down. it didnt look right to me. also i asked ATA and he stated "Before you trim the kidney the side that is smooth is down and the side with the lip is up." here is an example of how it should look as for the return edge, you should leave some return on both the top and bottom. and the top of the butt plate should also have a return. heres some pics of some original screen used suits
  3. got a response form denix and it doesn't appear to be automated.. Dear Mason, Thank you very much for your interest in our articles and sincerely thanks for your suggestion. We take good note of it and will study the possibilities to develop this item in the future. Best regards, Jaime Llull DENIX, S.A. i would urge anyone that reads this thread to take a few seconds to request that they make the sterling L2A3 . this could really be a good thing for all troopers if they decide to produce a accurate affordable sterling replica i would think a few hundred request would get there attention im pinning this thread for now
  4. looks great! any chance you could post a few detail pics of the flamethrower?
  5. it cant hurt to try il send one from each of my email accnts
  6. very nice! looks like you've covered all the bases. and you have even gone by the new proposed centurion standard for AM armor!! HERE replacing the chest and back really makes the AM armor look 99% better IMHO Approved! and great work trooper
  7. you will likely need to replace the belt. looks like the older FX kit that comes with a plastic belt. also it looks like the shin assembly is incorrect. also it has the giant black ab buttons. but if its that cheap, i would get it for a deathtrooper myself
  8. got any pics of the armor?? you may have a bad batch of plastic or a heating issue
  9. much better. you have a neck now Approved, congratulations trooper! (and mini trooper too)!!
  10. outstanding!! and an easy pass Approved, great work trooper
  11. if your planning on getting Jessie's clips and need a quick fix i would use plastic strips as Karin suggested . here is a guide from pandatroopers AM build thread----------
  12. looking good, the only issue that should be corrected its the chest and back plate are riding very high (strapping malfunction perhaps?) as you can see here on another AM build, the shoulders and shoulder straps should sit flush, yours are lifted up a few inches above the top of the bell and appear to be floating (not resting on your shoulder) if you bring down the chest, back and they are riding too low (overlapping the ab plate too much) you might want to trim the bottom of the chest plate, but it may not be necessary. other than that everything looks great! just try a re-shoot with the minor fix and you should be good to go...
  13. much better and with that you are approved! great work trooper
  14. the only problem i can see is the shoulder straps are too much to wards the back of the armor.. i would move them about 1.5 to 2 inches down the front of the chest plate. looking at the way it is glued now (right on the edge of the chest plate)it could break off and possibly ruin your chest armor other than that it appears to be a fine job
  15. i upped the limit some time ago. i think you can post over 30 images per post
  16. i wouldn't recommend driving with impaired vision just ask Mr Magoo
  17. approximately 37-38" but you could add or take away a little. be sure to use thin walled drain pipe and not the thick plumbing pvc if you can.. that stuff is way to heavy.
  18. great build!! as the boss noted just show a shot of the shoulder straps and youll be good to go (you dont need to re-suit up) also are you planning on going centurion? all you need is a bazooka!
