  1. Yeeaaahhhh buddy! Mark your calendars for 2026! I actually sent a similar photo to Adam (and Luca, who was less excited) two weeks ago when that covert mando debuted. Bonus that it's confirmed as a trooperbay pauldron, so attainable screen accuracy!

  2. I pulled the middle belt cover off and reset it from this image because it was off center and causing me ocd issues but here’s the covers for idea of the belt minus that one change. Updates for today (section on rigging will be updated as well) Arm straps from biceps to shoulder bells Posterior snaps 3 Kidney middle snap for posterior connection And the finished tabs for the kidney to abdomen to hold it in place.

  3. First, let me say that this is awesome documentation of your build! Kudos. Second, I have to let you know that your photos & journey helped give me some reassurance with my resumed build. I too, am building an AM kit but made a few mistakes and got into my own head about my the dork up I did on my helmet and went on a year+ hiatus of build. Now that I am back at it, having someone documenting the build with the same kit is really helpful. Cheers!

  4. Paint and decals happened over the weekend. Assembled and installed the hovi mic tips over the last few days and I just finished installing the lenses and frown mesh. All I have left is to get my thighs strapped to a belt and I'll be ready to try it all on for the first time. Phew. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

  5. Aright… made some tweaks. Had to rip the belt and reglue it to get it straight. Also adjusted the “teeth” on the belt to fit the slots. Made some fitting adjustments on top of it!

  6. Just wanted to introduce myself...I've been stalking/researching on FISD for months. I've always wanted to have my own TK armor and have recently ordered an ANH Stunt custom build from Troopermaster (TK Props) in the UK. Looks like the build is almost done and it should be shipped this week! It comes with the full armor, helmet, belt, holster, gloves and thermal detonator. It would be fun to learn to build my own armor kit, but between my job in engineering and a real estate business (and maintaining a patient/tolerant/happy wife ), there just isn't time to take on a long term build. I ordered boots this week, but am currently researching manufacturers for the E-11 blaster, neck seal and audio/fan helmet kits. There's so many options with helmet audio kits and fans! My ultimate goal will be to get my armor approved and join my local 501st, the Great Lakes Garrison (Michigan). I'll also be attending ICCC this year in Nashville in May and would love to wear my armor if I can get it completed and approved prior to. Thanks for taking a minute to read my introduction and I look forward to learning more from FISD...I've already learned so much on here!

  7. I came to this site because our grandson loves star wars and the storm troopers. I don't have a uniform yet, but I am looking to get one so that I can visit him and others at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

  8. I use fabric pouches for any of my painted costumes, it does protect from scratches, chips and scuffs. For my ANH TK most is pretty well protected as it's all stored inside the clamshell, the body of the armor then I have a towel which wraps around.

  11. I know a lot of what I’m doing with mine is to make it work to kit up myself if needed. So far it’s doable. Does take work, but yeah flexibility helps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. Made one last adjustment tonight. I didn’t like how the top inner edge of my thighs looked too sharp of an edge so I rounded it out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. Couldn’t stop doing some work today, so here’s a few more updates. Each section has been updated as well. First the shins. I finished the hook closure method in the back. Then the thighs I added a mobility cut and they feel better. You’ll also see the shins I did a mobility cut (too much armor bite was going on in the back. Belt I started the glue of the cap covers. And for kicks and giggles I gave the lower half a test run. things fit and felt good. Only adjustments from the run were the mobility cuts and I did trim the extended plastic on the sniper plate forward by 1/4 inch just because it was digging into my knee. This way it’s not going to slice my knee up.

  14. Definitely starting to look the part. Hard to kit up and take photos yourself but the use of a full length mirror can help, especially if you have someone taking photos that may not know what to look out for. I can kit up myself, normally @10min but have been quicker when I've been rushed, does help having long arms and legs

  15. So these pictures aren't the best cause my helper is at work but I couldn't wait! Man, this stuff is hard to get on by yourself but I'm sure it gets easier. The rear crotch snap wasn't going to happen without me standing on my head so my rear looks rather large! There's a lot of clanking going on when I walk and I can already tell you I need to trim more out of the insides of the thighs. Might go with a piece of foam for the inside of the sniper plate to keep it off of my knee. The double cap rivet in the ammo pack on one side popped right off when I was taking everything off. A helper is vital. The back of my belt isn't lined up good enough. I think I'm going to replace it with a split rivet and washer. I feel like I'm close. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

  21. I do the same as Glen, use a backing piece of either ABS or HIPS in this case to reinforce the area. You could make some ABS paste as well to reseal the crack/break and sand and polish to a clean finish.

  22. I use a piece of ABS plastic just smaller than the actual shoulder strap, heat and bend to the shape, rough up with sandpaper and glue with E6000, gives some nice stiffness to the shoulder straps

  28. Hi Jim, If you looking for new ABS shoulder straps I can recommend the ones from Troopermaster. Paul is delivering great quality and is from UK. Should be easy for you to get them.

  29. After assembly is how I did it. Like Kyle said it helps to have the abdomen on so you can look at the final trimming.

  30. I was just wondering if any one had any input as to whether or not the thigh pieces should be trimmed at the top before or after assembly. Also, did the lines I drew on the backs look good if I am able to move forward with trimming?
