  3. Hi Tiffany, and thank you for your EIB application! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry. Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor, and please keep in mind that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. Starting from top. Your helmet seems to be riding a little high. Perhaps you have too much padding on the top. You could remove a little so the helmet will lower a little and get a better look. Reference Images Next is a very common issue. The screws on the ears should ideally align with the rear angle of the trap above them, and the bottom should angle back a little bit more. The left one looks great and the right one could be improved a little. Reference Images The ends of the brow trim could use some trimming to look more screen accurate. Reference Images Your chest plate looks to be little raised on the left side, probably just a matter of a starpping adjustment. Esay fix! Refrerence Images Just to take care every time when put on your armor. your TD is a little uneven due to the right clip is not siting down completely on the canvas belt. Reference Images *************************************************** Centurion Requirements: In this section we prepare you for our highest tier of approval. Because Centurion photos must show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Level 3 might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we are able to clearly see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. Starting from the arms section Requirements for all 501st costumes are proportional to the wearer in scale, fit and size. Your arms armor is very large compared to your arms size. We absolutely welcome troopers of all different body types, but we do expect that for our highest level of approval, the armor is sized appropriately to the wearer's body. In order to size down the biceps and forearms, you'd need to carefully remove the cover strips, trim back the pieces some, and re-glue them. A hot water bath may also be helpful in re-shaping the curve. Reference Images You could try to get a better arch in your straps, perhaps with a hot water bath. Doing this would allow them to ride closer to the back plate so they won't protrude out, and put less strain on the elastic strap. The Ab Buttons panels look quite large and a little trimming will be necessary . As you can see in the reference image the Buttons panels don't cover the raised ridges of the Ab armor. Reference Images CRL L3: Back plate shall have no, or minimal overlap of the kidney plate. A possible solution for your overlapping could be 1- to trim a little the Neck section of your Back plate to allow it to be higher 2- Bend down the Shoulder sections of the back plate to match the chest armor and shoulder bridges. Reference Images Moving on your Han Snap. We do allow a bit of leeway in some cases, but yours has been placed way too far from the corner. Taking off a bit of return edge on the ab plate would look even better, and the hole will need to be filled with ABS paste. Reference Images CRL L3: The corners of the plastic ammo belt shall be trimmed at a 45 degree angle that that meets the outer edge of the cloth belt. You may be able to get away with repositioning the cloth belt to center it and trimming the ends of the ABS belt, as long as the cut doesn't go into the square button covers on the ends. Reference Images CRL L3: Hand guards shall be latex or latex-like, solid white or painted white, and affixed to rubber gloves with no visible strapping or stitching. Yours Plastic Hand Guards will need to be replaced by the correct ones made of latex or latex like material and be glued to the gloves. Reference Images CRL L3: Lower thigh ridge joins (front and rear) shall butt-up flush against each other. Any gaps must be backed with ABS or filled as not to be noticeable. There's a small gap in the back of your left thigh . Gluing a small piece of ABS plastic behind and filling the front with ABS paste would do the job. This thread HERE could be helpful Reference images CRL L3. T-tracks and grips shall be of a black plastic appearance with no silver/metallic weathering allowed. Some battle damage can looks nice but as the crl states, there appears to be some weathering on the grip and T tracks of your blaster. The ammo counter looks to have some weathered lines as well. Just a coat of black paint and it' s done. Reference Images That's all Trooper. Perhaps it could looks like a lot of work ahead, but we are confident that you can do it and we here to help you to reach the next goal. CENTURION. Congratulations once again.

  8. Looks fine, just take care not to make pieces too small, I have really thin arms and legs and if I trimmed to fit they would look too small and weird compared to the rest of the armor, I have small pieces of foam in some areas. Some references

  10. Hey there Chemi That’s awesome!! Thanks so much. And a big thanks to those that helped and to everyone for the kind words. I appreciate the list of things to look into for Centurion. Will make a start on some of those today. Will touch base, and get some help from, my mates here for the stuff I may struggle with. Do you recommend all of the photos for a Centurion application? Or just the areas where the current issues have been identified?

  12. You should be ok with the belt and would be mentioned for L3, unfortunately it's a little wide and also has the velcro stitching showing, be pretty much impossible to have the angled corners meet the fabric belt as it's almost the same width as the plastic belt Just watch your spacing of armor pieces and make sure you have the same gaps both sides of arms and legs. Good luck and hope to see your EIB application soon

  18. Hi Dave, and thank you for your EIB application! Let's start with the helmet. Your helmet seems to be a little high. You could remove some padding from the top to lower it a bit. Reference images The brow trim, you could cut it a little for more screen accuracy(do it little by little so you don't trim too much). Reference images Ideally, the ear screws should be aligned with the rear edge of the Traps. It's not much, so we leave it as a suggestion. Reference images Your forearms overlap the handguards. We recommend you to raise your biceps a little bit so that you can raise your forearms a little bit too, so that they are in line with the handguards. Reference image One of the holster loops is at an angle. Easy fix. Reference image It seems that your back plate is sticking out a bit and is not aligned with the kidney. Maybe you can use the famous "v tabs" to fix it. Reference images It looks like the Thigh ammo belt has moved, as in other photos you have it "higher". A drop of glue will fix it Reference images Your right thigh seems a little low. You can shorten the strap a little to match the other. Reference images Just a dressing issue here. When putting on the calves watch the alignment of the back closure. L3- If silk or satin gloves are worn, the hand plates have the correct visible stitching with a 5 point/star pattern, equally spread out with 2 on each side and 1 in the middle front, double stitched with 2 holes at each point and sewn to the glove at each one using black thread. Yours looks to be satin type gloves but the hand plates are affixed with an elastic strap and no stitched to them. We think that it is necessary to sew them to the glove. Reference images L3- Abdominal and Kidney Plate align horizontally at top. An adjustment in the straps will do the trick. Reference images L3- Ideally there no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor. Abdominal and Kidney Plate align horizontally at top. A single visible seam line is present. This seam is totally fine for the EIB, but for Centurion, it has to be seamless. You can use abs paste, or some two-component putty to fill the joint. Then you should sand it and paint it. It looks complicated, but it’s not. Reference images L3- The top of the ABS ammo belt should sit at or just above the bottom of the central and vertical abdomen button panels. The easiest solution is to add some Velcro behind the belt to raise it up a bit. Reference images L3 -The corners of the plastic ammo belt shall be trimmed at a 45 degree angle that that meets the outer edge of the cloth belt. You can trim the edges of the plastic ammo belt a bit to adjust it to those 45 degrees. Reference images L3- Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box. Many of us add a drop of glue to the elastic holding the drop boxes on to keep them from wandering. Reference image Looking at the back of your thighs, you have a small gap in the ridges. you can glue a small square of ABS plastic and fill with ABS paste, sugru or something similar. Reference images -As for the blaster, it may be the photo, but we think it has a too "shiny" finish. To give it a more similar look to what you see on screen, we recommend giving it a layer of matte paint. That's all, Dave. A few small fixes and that’s it! I look forward to seeing your application for Centurion soon. Congratulations!

  19. Once I get my leg gaskets sized properly I plan to size the leg armor to fit me. Right now the overlapped inners on the thighs and shins are not glued.
