Ok, so I decided to add a bit more weathering, as it really didn't look like much after later consideration. I can always remove some if I overdid it
I personally think it came out a bit better...?
And updated
It now reads as follows....
Correct Aerators/Hovi-MIX tips are present. Screens used shall be of a wide type mesh. The rim of the mic may be weathered, and the inside raised area painted white. Interior sides shall be painted black, mesh can also be painted black.
As we know the mic tips where white and had been painted black and no doubt when filming started would still have been all black, then some of the rim would have been rubbed of from general wear and tear, so should there not be an option for black rim? There are examples of only a slight amount of white visible.

I didn't start this thread until late in the build process, so I might be light on WIP pics. Oops. Next build.
Got a kit from Faraway Creations in Colorado.
Got pretty much all the torso, arms & thighs done. Had a bit of a snag with the calves, more on that later.
In progress with the helmet at the moment.
Modified BS lid I added the rear groove by cutting a 1.5 piece of styrene at the height needed from the black section. Stuck that on with double sided tape. Then VERY CAREFULLY went round with a needle file and kept going until the desired depth After painting I added black vinyl in the recess running round the bottom Pauldron from Trooper Bay with added vinyl
+1 on Glen's observation. All look weathered off to me. The originals likely started black dipped and had the tips rubbed white with natural use. Painting the tips white originally would give a different wear pattern than any of the screen examples display.
I just created an "imgur" account so I can upload better pictures of my build. I just read the post about how to upload pictures -__- I am not tech savvy... but getting there.....
