Hi Chris, Looking at your build thread you are doing a great work with your armor sir. keep it up. If I may, it seems like you have enough room in your Biceps and Forearms. To get a more accurate look, you could trim them a little more . If you used E6000 to glur the cover strips, this could be an easy fix. You could trim the raised flat area in the front an relocate the cover. I would also suggest to make a test before glue them again. Use painter's tape to join the pieces and make a test, post some photos to receive feedback (this suggestions is also for the Thighs and Shins) Reference images2 points

Good morning everyone, 3D printing is something I have enjoyed both personally and professionally; it's now become a big hobby of mine. Ever since joining the FISD, and subsequently learning about this, the 3D contributor program is something I've been incredibly interested in. Needless to say, I was overjoyed to be nominated by @TheRascalKing a few months ago and would now like to repay the gesture by nominating a few of my own. First is @ChrisThePropGuy for his incredible OTTK file set. My understanding is that Chris initially created these files to serve as molds for his vacuum formed kit. However, Chris has continued to refine his set and recently released an update kit that appears to be incredibly accurate and ready to be built by someone aiming for legion approval. What I find especially admirable about Chris' work has been his willingness to refine his work based off community feedback and essentially rework items that I know he spent a great deal of time creating. The accuracy and availability of his work as well as his willingness to work with the greater community highlights his contributions. See his thread here: Next is @TheRascalKing for the awesome FOTK greeblie set he just made available to the community. Similar to what I had to say about Chris, Justin did an incredible job documenting the design journey he took with Mr. Poopie from the Pathfinder's Detachment. Constantly changing the design based off community feedback seemed to be a consistent theme, but ultimately, the final design was made available to members for free a few days ago and they're fantastic. The level of detail and care Justin took in designing these files is incredible. Any time you see someone making design changes and adjusting files that are measured in fractional milometers, the 3D community takes notice, as should anyone aiming at creating the most accurate version of a costume imaginable. Here's the finished product: But equally important is highlighting the design thread which can be found here: Ultimately, for both of these guys, when you read the criterion for nomination, I feel that they've far exceeded the requirements. Both made their designs/ files accessible, they've freely offered advice and have created an excellent end-item. Additionally, both have done an incredible job at creating detailed build threads showcasing their work and willingness to accept feedback as well as make changes to their designs based off resident expertise. Not only would I like to see these nominations solidified, but I would also suggest possibly adding a fifth nomination bullet that requires designers to show a willingness to adjust their work based off community feedback and be open/ receptive to said feedback. This is one of the reasons I admire the FISD above all other detachments. Additionally, I was offered the following advice a few years ago when I started my TK journey and have valued it ever since: "take any feedback not as criticism, but as everyone trying to help you look your best!" These 3d contributors appear to have made this their mantra and I personally feel that it should be expected from all who aim to contribute to the FISD community.2 points

I'm going to be eager to see your fixes. If I get armor I will be in the same boat as you. No tools, no skills in this and not a ton of time to fiddle with it. Since I am also looking at AP armor anything you need to do I may need to follow with. I can't wait to see it all done and fitted on you! Bart2 points

Great news, nothing better than BBB's. Many find with commission builds that they have to do a few mods to strapping so you are not alone. Looks like you may need tighter strapping between your ab and chest, riding up, or it could be because you have your arms lifted. Many of use use velcro on the rear of the shins, but on some occasions you need to apply some heat so the shins will close fully, many use a hot water batch, I use a heat gun but that's with A LOT of practice, using a heat gun can be dangerous as you can go from almost pliable to molten mess. Originally the screen suits use elastic and hooks With your thighs you may be able to add larger rear coverstrips, or you may have to add some shims depending how wide you need to go. A couple of thread may be helpful You could also shape some of your coverstrips so they don't dig into you when moving Lots of helpful folk on the forum ready to assist so don't be too worried2 points

For sure - I feel like 5 min after I made this comment, I saw a thread noting that connecting the shoulders may be necessary for some approvals.1 point

You did state "The biceps keep wanting to kick out at a 45 degree angle" hence why I suggest adding the foam. You need to space out all our arm pieces so the gaps are more consistent. Note your shoulder straps are being pulled outwards sideways to the shoulder bells so you may need to double over the elastic or try a thicker elastic.1 point

I just got my kit yesterday - I ordered mine in 2017, i think... Is this going to be approvable? It doesnt have the yoke design, and it seems the whole upper torso design is much different than the ANOVOS 1.0 - looking at the DN assembly instructions, it looks like the back has a seam with the front torso. Thoughts? Do we have to do mods to this?1 point

im curious, what speakers did people use in their builds ? I'm finding the smaller ones arent the best for replicating the lower frequencies and so the sound of the fire doesnt have the sort of ommppff i'd like. With a bit of clever enclosure design, i might be able to fix this a bit,but still curious with how others are faring.1 point

Hi Joe. congrats on the kit. I think the required fixes are doable. I've had to resize a trooper's AP kit before. Mark uses e6000 (or at last he did on the kit I worked on), which means the parts will pull apart with some careful encouragement. The trouble will be getting some wider cover strips for the thigh to make it bigger (you could ask Mark for those). Also, be sure to remove the return edge on the thighs with lexan scissors or something similar - this will buy you some more room (sorry, I don't have access to a program that will allow me to mark-up your images right now). You can absolutely put velcro on the shins. What did Mark use? There is usualy something there to keep them closed. Get the adhesive, industrial strength stuff in white. Rough side facing out - I see Glenn just posted as I was writing this - see his post. And yes, the straps from the Ab to the chest will need to be shortened. I had to adjust the placement of the shoulder bridges on the kit I worked on - that allowed the chest piece to sit a bit lower. These are all manageable fixes that we can talk you through - but it would help if you could reach out to your Garrison and see if someone can help in person (that would be the quickest way). They may even have the few tools you need to make the adjustments.1 point

because the original builder made the front seem so wide, the knee will never sit flush… (and I can’t get it apart to try and fix that) So I put a 1/4” thick EVA foam spacer inside to let me glue the center. This also should help some with the knee wanting to go under the thigh. Then I glued the sides. waiting on approval…1 point
