  1. After five years of working on my Star Wars Fan Film (that prominently features an E-11 and a Trooper), I wanted to quickly reach out to say a big thank you to being so kind during my build time. This has been an awesome and helpful community when I got stuck, but mostly I was reading quietly. Also I wanted to share the result with you. Hope you enjoy:

  2. Welcome to the FISD, Paul! Seems like you got a good start already. Just mentioning it now: if you want to aim for EIB/Centurion (aka more accuracy) you should remove all of the return edge on the wrist openings of the forearms. Looking forward to your build Remember to have fun and that it's better to measure twice and cut once, ask before cutting and gluing and to check your references

  3. Hello Troopers, I've been studying the forums here for about 4 weeks now and learned quite a lot about Imperial Stormtrooper armour. All thanks to the wealth of knowledge supplied by the amazing members here at FISD i've managed to make a start on my armour build...i'm in no rush to complete & enjoying the challenge of building something i've always dreamed of, an Imperial Stormtrooper. I'm hoping my progress pictures work in the images below.

  10. Helmet Back and Cap and Face Well, before I got to the assembly, I trimmed the outside following the lines in the plastic and then trimming the eyes and teeth: Personal choice, but I think, adding the U-trim before assembling makes the most sense. I also cut the edges of the rubber to run along the traps. Just looks a little sleeker. Then I assembled the the two helmet parts: Most people use rivets for this, but as I don't own a rivet gun I went with these things that I could always remove and reassemble. Makes things a little easier, I'd like to believe. This was the result. Right now I'm working on fitting the ears, so once that's done you can probably expect another update. If anybody would like to share some feedback in the meantime, I'd look forward to it! FISD Resources Used Most helmet assembly resources can be found in MaskedVengeance's Resource. I did not refer to any particular source. I used this image from Cableguy's Helmet Alignment Thread as a rough guideline for the alignment, as well as my ANH Stunt helmet.

  11. Thanks for sharing the progress on your armour build, i'm also starting a build with RS armour. Finding myself spending hours reading the wealth of information on this forum in fear of making any mistakes. Good luck with your build!

  12. Hey troopers, I have made some more progress on this RS helmet, including additional painting. Here’s a video where I talk about the painting process whilst I paint. Lots of info in here: And here’s how the helmet is looking now. As the OT stormtroopers were used, gritty, and worn, that’s how I’m making this replica. Hope you’re enjoying the progress. 13. Except for the heat-gun mishap everything looks to be coming along great, Lukas! The taper on the forearms looks fantastic. If I could make a few suggestions they would be: You may just not be at that point yet, but I would trim down the thigh front tops. Those points will stick into you and snag your under-suit, so I recommend shaving off all the return edge. Same with the rear tops. Although some folks like the thickness the return edges give the look of the armor, they are not a requirement for any level of approval and can be removed. Remember, comfort is what you need while trooping, and an hour or more of walking around during a troop with points sticking into you is no fun. Keep the photos and questions rolling in!

  15. Is this program still active? No awards since 2020... If so, I'd like highlight @trooper96 for the work put into his L2A1 Sterling design since his last award, as well as continuing work on his M38 scope, perhaps consolidating his previous silvers to a well-earned gold award? *Just re-read and noticed Gold is usually given after 5 Silver awards, but he's well on his way and deserving of another... something, I'd say! I'd also like to highlight @BigJasoni , perhaps for a silver award, for his work on the Rogue One ammo belt boxes! I don't know if that's how this works, but I'm happy to see people continuing to develop, submit, and support excellent 3D designs, and hope this program encourages people to continue to make great files available to the FISD family!

  18. Depending on the paint I normally add a thicker final coat of clear, auto acrylic is good for this, helps settle some of the orange peal. Does look very nice though, well done, almost there
