  1. If it was me I'd do all new photos kitted up, it will complete your application rather than using some with the logo still on. Also note any comments already made as well as check for gaps and position, this image your drop box is on an angle. You find at times the photographer doesn't know what to look out for, having a mirror handy can help you spot any potential issues You also have a bigger gap at the bottom of your ab/kidney sides, if you could even those out would look better. Appears the top of the kidney is overlapping the ab in this image. Action photo pose is entirely up to the individual, you could look through the EI gallery to see what others have done

  2. Hi everyone,Just wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year and introduce myself as a new member! I say new, but I originally joined about 20 years ago, when I first decided to follow my dream of being a trooper.I attended an event as an observer, and did buy a suit, but sadly had to sell it shortly after, to pay for other things. I never gave up on the idea though, and actually kept the fabric neck seal I bought then all this time, hoping I would get there some day! Think I still have the voice board I bought in the loft somewhere too!So anyway, watching the Mandalorian has reignited my desire, and after after a couple of pretty difficult years on the work front (I'm a Paramedic) & life generally, I've decided it's time to give it a other go. So here I am! Hoping to speak to, and maybe meet some of you in the near future! And thanks in advance for any advice along the way.Damien

  4. Welcome back! It's definitely worth giving another go! I don't know what I would have done to decompress from the gong show of the last 2 years if I didn't have this hobby to keep me sane. The troops are somewhat limited currently - but there is still reward in the kit-building part of the hobby. Check out the "getting started" section for some general reading - see what's changed over the years. Finding and building a kit is very straight forward thanks to the info on this forum. Good luck and Happy New Year!

  5. Hi (again) [emoji112] You'll get great help and advice over here. Best advice is to ask lots of questions and post lots of pics as you go. Looking forward to meeting up on a troop on the other end of your build [emoji106] Rich

  7. I went with a flat finish on everything except the butt-stock. For that I went with a natural wood finish as seen in ANH.

  8. Now that I have completed my armor and have joined the 501 I think my DLT-19 is next. I will be installing a coupling to the middle so I can break it down and adding a threaded end on the cocking handle for easier storage. My question is color....semi gloss body and gloss stock? Not sure....hasn't seen any official colors for it on the forums. Thanks TK 10545

  9. Very nice work on this build Ben, just those couple of things and you will look perfect.

  10. Yes, for ANH and ESB TK's the butt and kidney are separated. Return of the Jedi is where those pieces are not separated. I was nervous slicing my WTF kit! Sent from my SM-N970U using Tapatalk

  12. Thank you!! I tried one more time and think I'm finally OK with this version. My only issue is these pieces came from a separate Walt batch and the abs seems much whiter than my TK armor. Could it just be aging?

  14. FYI you will need to supply another action photo now that you have removed the UKG branding as once approved the action image is used for the Expert Infantry Honor Gallery

  15. I still have some extra cut vinyl on hand. Would you like them? I can pop them in an envelope. Downsides: You will still have a bit of paint bleed and you'll also have to clean up vinyl adhesive left behind. It's kind of a pain, but it worked okay on mine. Not much cleaning was needed really. A toothpick with either rubbing alcohol or paint thinner worked fine for me (my blue was acrylic). And once cured the adhesive was easy to remove.

  16. That looks pretty good. TBH all close-up photos of ab buttons show each and every sin. They will likely look a lot better on the armor. You can always use like 2 dots of E6000 to hold them on temporarily for your own visual assessment. Or even some CA glue. That stuff cracks free easily for alteration or final securing with E6000. If I remember right, it's an 11mm circle for buttons. I cut small circles out with my vinyl plotter.

  18. Apologies in advance - Imgur seems to have uploaded almost every image either upside down or to the side.

  19. Imperial Surplus does one too. I think it’s the TFA version, but it’s a nice looking kit (I’m helping a garrison mate build one). https://imperialsurplus.com/product/first-order-stormtrooper/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. Getting better. When in doubt purchase a circle radius stencil, lay it over painter's/making tape, select your hole size, cut the hole using an exacto knife, lay painter tape over button and paint. Note: hole circumference should be the same size as the button crown (slightly smaller than what's shown below).
