  2. Thank you Mario Many thanks Chemi Thank you James Thanks Randy, funny story went to the store a few weeks ago and found a reduced to clear suitcase as it had some marks on it, blue with black marks, seemed very appropriate for this costume

  3. Hi Glen, and thank you for your application for TKC Expert Infantry. CRL and EIB Application Requirements All required photos are now in and, after review, we are pleased to award your 8th EI approval. On behalf of the entire DO staff, congratulations!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. All is just as it should be, so nothing to see here. Centurion Requirements In this section we prepare you for Centurion. More photos may be requested in the future that allow us to make better decisions on possible adjustments. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here. Because Centurion photos show much more detail than EIB, items to pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here. We try to point out all that we can from what is seen, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. Now ready for your Centurion submission, so fire when ready!

  7. A trick I learned when doing mine, if gluing on cover strips one side at a time, start with the side that faces outward first, so you can get a flush seam on the more exposed/visible side. This is because the second side may be a bit more difficult getting super flush as you've already locked down the first. Sometimes I had to use locking clamps to secure a flush seam as the rigidity of the cover strip and the armor may be a bit stubborn. Also when using locking clamps, don't press too hard, I've managed to squeeze all the e6000 out of the cracks it didn't adhere at all, hours wasted ><

  8. Exactly what I was thinking. Don't have a sewing machine here. Bought some thicker, black linen thread and will stitch by hand. Also the stitching gives a more accurate look.

  9. Looking good, FYI the only sewing I normally do on these are just down the sides and the center seams, usually the glue is enough but I like the added strength

  10. If you try to buy clamps from Amazon UK, they are out of stock. Richard, you're a handyman!!!

  12. Hi All- Charles here from StL, MO. I just submitted my armor (RS Propmasters ANH Stunt) to my GMLs for review. Till I get word back I thought I'd stop in and say hello. This has been a dream of mine for the last almost 20 years or so, since I first stumbled across the 501st and realized I could one day be an actual stormtrooper. Back in those days there wasn't much online to reference how to build. Plus to be honest I didn't have much money back in my 20s lol. Now in my mid 40's and my kids are grown I'm finally ready to jump in to your awesome world. I purchased a full commission set for RS and my profile photo is it. I currently have it on a mannequin in my home office and can not stop staring at it. I truly haven't smiled this much or been this excited since I was six years old and got a Kenner Death Star playset from Santa Claus! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and learning how to put a second kit together - this time from scratch. Just glad to be here finally Charles

  16. You came to the right place! "That's good - You've taken your first step into a larger world." and BOY, is this a large world. I think the thing I hadn't realized until after spending more time on FISD and local garrison is that there are so many degrees of dedication and enthusiasm to the armor. Scouring the forums is really thorough but time consuming; talking to people directly is highly efficient and would definitely recommend! So reach out, everyone I've met here is extremely helpful and friendly. Good luck with your build!

  18. Hi Mike and welcome to the FISD! I was just visiting Bar Harbor and Ogunquit this past week. Beautiful up there along the coast. There are many helpful members around here with a bunch of knowledge on Phasma. Enjoy the build!

  19. You’ll enjoy building a kit. I built my whole suit from a kit. Although I’ve already got experience from costume making before it was nothing like this. It’s the best feeling when you get that thumbs up for clearance. The armourers are brilliant and your going to get loads of support. Excited for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. Hi, Had the same problem with my shoulders too. You look quite slim like me. I reduced the length of the white webbing that connects the back piece to the chest. For mine I’ve only got a gap of 1 inch between them and it would pull both together giving a better shape. You’ll then find the elastics will generally stay in place better. 23. I would say with a fair degree of confidence that that is the S&T Airsoft gun that they sell under part number (AEG-ST-AEG-68) as a "completed" E-11-style blaster, with electronics added instead of shooting BBs. For the Rogue One studio guns, to the best of my knowledge, they used the Airsoft rifle as the base Sterling, but had mostly resin Doopy-Doos and SDS accessories added to them, not the ones included on the completed S&T "E-11". Cool, and could be modified to be a Rogue One/New Generation style blaster without too much effort, but only good for approval if that's your intent and the costume you'd use it with.
