  1. Kia Ora! My name is Georgia Haywood and I became a member of the 501st legion this morning! I have waited many years for this day. Ever since I was young I wanted to be apart of the 501st Legion, and when I was old enough to join that was my goal. Well now at 18 years old, I finally am. I ordered my RS Prop masters TK ANH STUNT Commission all the way back in Jan and after many months, it arrived last week. Its been a long journey and my biggest dream, I can not wait for the many troops, memories and friends I make along the way. Its surreal that I am an actual Stormtrooper, the ones I looked up to for all those years! I might be one of the youngest and shortest troopers out there (at 5'3) but I have one of the biggest hearts. Georgia Haywood Outpost 42 New Zealand Garrison

  2. First up my gloves are a success! Next, I decided to try my hand at making a custom Mesh press tool set. used PLA with High infill. (these will not last as PLA for more than a few times) But it worked! Though, I discovered a minor flaw in my design once I got to this stage. I should have made the top and bottom both square, to facilitate keeping the top and bottom aligned when in the vice. (it was a bit harder to keep the round part centered over the hole) I've made some minor adjustments to the tool model, but this one lasted and worked well enough for this time. I'm going to go with the Left one (they are not the same, but close). Got some input from an expert who agrees with my choice. LEFT: #16 stainless mesh. RIGHT: #14 stainless mesh next up, paint the inside white and figure out how to glue these in without getting it all over everything..

  4. Ears... Let's take our time. Use all the techniques we've learned thus far. We got this. It's time for the ears. I've been reading and re-reading build threads and tutorials about ears and I think I'm ready. On my ears the mold lines are pretty faint, which I like. I marked them out though as reference for the basic shape, and then I marked out my cut line. The mold lines are in red and my cut lines are in black. I'm not going to cut all the way to the cut lines but I'm going to get pretty close.

  6. RWA (in the UK) produce all of their armour pieces in XL / Big Boy sizes for tall / large OTTK (and TD / TX) costumers. Their YouTube channel has videos describing the size differences for the different sections. I'm 6'4" and around 215lbs, and all of my RWA TK is XL except for the butt and back plates, and its been cleared to Centurion. Hope this helps someone

  7. Hi Joseph, Would you mind adding some info to your post above. Geeky Pinks have told me that they are able to produce all of their items in non-leather alternatives, for those plant based troopers amongst us. In their words, this includes: "...neck seals... pauldrons, gunner bibs, vader suit, imperial knight, jedi or sith items, jawa bandoliers... Basically any item the SW universe could need in leather, I'll make in a vinyl/faux leather"

  8. @Daetrin Could you please update the original post of this thread to show that RWA now produce all of their armour pieces in XL / Big Boy sizes for tall / large OTTK (and TD / TX) costumers. 9. I received my geeky pink gaskets yesterday which look amazing!!! [emoji2956] thank you Teresa for your hard work and effort to make my first order gaskets and neck seal a reality! I am really looking forward to test fitting 90% of the costume soon!! [emoji2962] Last night I made progress with more pieces primed and some pin holes filled! Thus far I’m really impressed with Jim’s kit for several reasons: 1 - it’s a very clean kit, with very few pinholes and scratches to fill, s as I rotated the piece I was surprised how few imperfections there were. which means it’s faster to get it painted and onto strapping. 2 - crisp detailed pulls with sharp edges. I’ve seen other builds where details are soft and need to be cut out and replaced but not having to deal with that is awesome. 3 - It comes with no pieces needing to be shimmed . Compared to my galactic marine build this is much easier and I’m excited to keep making progress and I’ll keep you updated! Before filling

  10. If you wouldn't mind posting pics so I get get a better visual idea of whats going on. I think I understand what is going on but I would like to see some pics to see if I can help. If you can post pics of both side with masking tape holding it together from the inside would be great.

  11. I would contact your GML as some are a little more lenient than others when it comes to approvals. Not sure what was going on with those forearms, here are my ATA which do have the angle not stepped like those you show. Cutting that section shouldn't be a problems, screen references:

  12. Glad to hear that! And thanks a lot for the phone call yesterday -- it was a great help to the point that I actually continued working on the helmet yesterday evening! I added the entire RS included interior of the helmet, so my helmet is only missing the tube stripes (along with the template) by now. I really like this picture because you can see the green in the eyes and the gaps in the teeth beautifully. I think I might have to cut out a nose area in the future and maybe I'll even rework the eyes entirely at one point, but right now I'm very happy with this very simple set-up. One of the things that Tino (T-Jay) suggested was to work on the Hovi Tips a bit more to make them look more realistic and like the paint wore off rather than the thick off-white line that the tips from RS had. He suggested that I use wax around the tips and then paint it over with black and I got to say that I'm fairly happy with the result. To compare: The one at the bottom looks more realistic and less cartoonish than the original version. Maybe I'll whether them a bit further to get more white around the tips, if that's needed, but as of now, I've got a off-white Hovi tip, painted black, with some wear and tear at the tips: A (slightly blurry due to the camera quality) close up. If some slight and really simple weathering can improve the look of the armor this much, then I'll probably do some more in the future -- just some small things like this that genuinely help it look so much more like a "real" Stormtrooper. With Tino (T-Jay)'s help, I've also decided on a transport box and that I will re-work most of my strapping to make it easier to wear and work with. This means, that I'll probably spend the evening mapping out how I want my new strapping system to be and what I need to do to achieve it.

  13. While I'm sure someone put a lot of time into designing/making this bucket, but there are just too many issues in my opinion. In addition to what Justin pointed out, a few others include: Frown shape is way off. Areas around tears/traps/and frown should be white, not gray, and the lines look a bit sloppy. Rear traps appear WAY too large and not recessed. Also, it looks as if the brow trim is part of the print, and not a separate piece, and those ears are definitely molded in. Since I doubt that this particular bucket would even pass Basic 501st approval, unless you are just planning on using it as a display piece I would steer clear.

  14. Appears some of the grey traps are not recessed, the line around is but the center areas are high, reference below of how they should be. Ears don't appear seperate. Cheeks traps are quite high on the center grey. Also appears a big gap under the bottom mount of the vocoder When in doubt it's always a good idea to check against the reference galleries https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/category/21-starwars-story-reference/

  16. So to start off, I just got my clone boots from ImperialBoots a few days ago. Also got a few of the audio files for the troopers in cutscenes (only 6 but better than nothing) that I'll be sharing here incase anyone wants to use them https://drive.google.com/open?id=1f5TeM74BvAUSe-Y3zrYzx-yayEEDAEIa Voice lines are as follows (1-5 are from the first mission, and 6 comes from the PSP versions Order 66 mode): 1. "Lord Vader! We were ambushed upon arrival, but i have the situation well in..." 2. "Lord Vader, Triton Squad reporting for duty sir!" 3. "Yes sir!" 4. "You heard him men! On the double!" 5. "Yes sir! We're sustaining heavy resistance sir. So far we haven't even broken their frontline." 6. "Yes my Lord."
