So I just received my skull trooper helmet and thought I would give a quick review for anyone who may be thinking of getting one. Let me start by saying WOW just great overall quality. Its nice and thick seems very sturdy. I feel like if it gets dropped it would take very minimal damage. The lens are basically hot glued in but nicely done. They are shaped and smooth no sharp corners. Also comes with a custom skull padding insert. Hovi tips look nice and are also fixed with the screw nut style so you can switch out easily if you had other plans. Paint job looks nice on it also. Only bad thing about it for me was that maybe 2 weeks after I purchased mine he ran a deal could have saved some money there. The length it took to receive was normal not super fast but not terribly long to where I had to inquire about it either. Overall I can say it was definitely worth the money. And he also offers different types for different kits. I found him on Instagram under the name skull_trooper_helmets . He showed great communication during the whole process even sending me update pictures as well. I would highly recommend to anyone looking into one. Heres some pics.2 points

The quality was excellent! I'm just horrible with painting and decal application lol!1 point

I use it and it works well. It's probably just soapy water, but who knows lol I use a small screwdriver to pick the decal up so I don't touch the underside much, then float it into place, then rub out the liquid from the center out. Sucks those decals are so pricey, but they look good and there aren't any other options I'm aware of :/1 point

That is perfect, thank you! I was under the impression that the ears on all of the helmets almost touched the traps but one of these clearly shows a gap. If I trim my ears to fit that high, I will end up with a very thick ear section at the top of the tubes. I think I will get a much thinner profile if I let it drop down around a 1/2". It also helps show where I can trim more of the bottom of the helmet. This is exactly what I needed!1 point

Hi Steven, this could be helpful. http://www.starwarshelmets.com/original-stormtrooper-stop-that-ship-helmet.htm http://www.starwarshelmets.com/original-stormtrooper-move-along-helmet.htm1 point

That was going to be my second option if this just doesn't do well. I already feel little iffy about the stability of it. But am just going to roll with it until it fails I guess.1 point

If you run into troubles with the elastic peeling away I suggest using nylon webbing and rivet them on.1 point

Very exciting stuff! Can't wait to see who # 500 is! Congratulations to everyone that has made it!1 point

Isn't THAT an understatement!?! I see so many of these dug up photos of the screen used stuff and cringe at the thought of posting pics of work like that as my own. The images and the armor shows it age, but so many of us new guys are striving for outright perfection that in comparison to the screen used stuff, ours looks TOO GOOD! Richard, you are doing excellent work that even this OCD new builder appreciates. Keep it up, my friend! I'm also working on an ESB armor set, but from AM, here in the States. Needing badly to start my own build (progress) thread and share some of my photos as well. Enjoy the journey.1 point

ONE SPOT LEFT! A hearty congrats to Max P. (TK 42199) for becoming the 499th Trooper to earn his Centurion badge and become one of the "Original 500"! WAY TO GO MAX! Who will #500 be?1 point

Hi Max, and thank you for your application for ANH Stunt Centurion! CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of CENTURION #499. Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. To start out, we would like to say a big THANKS to both you and Justin for jumping on the requested fixes. They came out amazing (especially tapering those forearms) and you should be proud of the final look all that hard work gave to your armor... I know we certainly are! The only suggestion we have is that you might want to consider lowering your biceps and forearms a bit if possible. I know you are a taller trooper, but if this is possible it would decrease the gap between your wrist openings and hand guards. And that's it, brother... welcome to the ranks, and extra kudos for making it into the "Original 500"! WAY TO GO! Side note- When you chose your FISD screen name, did you have a plan to be Centurion # 499?1 point

Congratulations Grave! It is such an achievement. As Centurion #488, I can say to anyone thinking of embarking on either a new build or upgrades in order to reach the certification, just go for it! The process of researching designs, techniques, materials and mods (if required) to build a set of TK ANH Centurion armour gave me a comprehensive understanding of building armour in general, as well as an appreciation for the fine details that entail EIB and Centurion status. This is experience I will take into my next build, and the next, and so on. Sent from my Imperial Comlink1 point

It's been a busy week. Last night, after a 3 mile pub run and a beverage, I finally got home and tried on the left forearm. I don't like it. It isn't terrible, but it isn't as good as the right forearm. Again, the shape changed after being held in the correct place for a few days and I want a smaller wrist opening. Not more than an hours work to improve it. I have a full schedule again tonight but should get that reworked tomorrow. I did get an update from Hellhound about the blaster. He has a few that are close to ready and mine should be shipping by early next week.1 point

Thank you! I did grab the correct shoulder for that side and started trimming it. I cut back the return edge so that it is just a little larger than the middle reference picture. I think that is a good place to be until I start the strapping process and see how everything starts fitting together. And an update that I forgot.... my boots came this weekend! Still waiting on the blaster and need to order a belt once I get a waist measurement. And another minor issue. Working on the helmet and when I tried drilling through for the rivet hole the helmet cracked since it was close to the edge. Not a big deal.... Nothing a piece of scrap can't fix and it will also be behind both the front piece of plastic and the ear.1 point

I've made less progress than hoped, but that is ok. Fortunately I am not working to a timeline. I had what was a very fortunate setback. The right forearm cover strip didn't stay straight while it was setting so I had to remove it. I hadn't been thrilled with the sizing, but because of the odd curve I couldn't get it on if I trimmed it any more. The shape changed once it spent 2 days clamped together allowing me to cut over 1/2" off of each side of the area I had to remove the cover strip from. Now I am much happier with the shape. Happy setback. I have the left forearm gluing now. Lesson learned: It finally dawned on me that the curved acrylic scissors aren't for doing the curved cuts. It is an offset to allow straight cuts without the cut pieces interfering with the scissors as much. It probably should have been obvious but trimming is now much easier..... I need to do a lot more work on the shoulder (and I think I grabbed the wrong one) but I'm making progress.1 point

Nice! I did the ANH to ESB conversion on my Anovos kit a while back - feel free to check out my thread if it helps! The look definitely grew on me as well and it really isn't that hard of a project once you already have the base suit... Best of luck, let us know if we can support! https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/49367-therascalkings-esb-anovos-tk-conversion-thread/1 point

Imperial Attache Outstanding Achievement Award In order to recognize those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty as members of this program, the FISD would like to announce a new accolade: The Attached Outstanding Achievement Award ribbon, (as seen above) will be bestowed to those who consistently exemplify the meaning of Imperial Attaché, which will be added above their EIB or Centurion badge. This distinction will go to those who are not only consistently assisting present Troopers but helping future Troopers on their white armor journey as well. This includes greeting first-time posters, offering advice and guidance, assisting with EIB and Centurion levels and staying active on the FISD and/or their local boards***.
