Okay Troopers (and future Troopers), If you have kept up on recent events here, you are aware that the updated changes in the CRLs for ANH Stunt, ANH Hero, ESB and ROTJ will take effect on June 1st. We understand that many of you may have started your build before that date, and in order to avoid confusion and possibly causing you to have to make changes, we are allowing those in that scenario to adhere to the existing CRL guidelines. There are some conditions, though: 1. You must have started (and documented) your build here on the FISD prior to June 1st. 2. You will have until September 1st (approximately 90 days) of this year to submit for Expert Infantry and then Centurion if you opt to go for higher levels with that particular set of armor. 3. We took into consideration that an average set of armor takes approximately 3 months (or less) to build and that "life happens", but if you find that it will be taking longer than the 90 days, you will be required to contact the D.O. staff if you are aiming for EI or Centurion and explain your situation. After that date, you will be required to follow the requirements as per the updated CRL. If you have already started your build and would like to include the new updates, you are more than welcome (and encouraged) to do so. If you have met the above guidelines and would like to use the existing CRL, we suggest that you print a copy before June 1st, as these will not be available to view on the 501st site after that.7 points

DH17 idealized metal build kit finally ready ,,i did this one like markus did... http3 points

Rather than drill holes in the ab and use snaps, I used magnets. I made little pockets using the extra fabric from the belt and used fabric fusion to glue them to the belt. I glued magnets on the inside of the ab piece. The belt just pops into place.2 points

Ok so I started this build last month and took a break to work on my E-11 let me.say first I have talked to some amazing people over the past few weeks and love how it's been going. So I will be adding over the next few days all the photos I took along the way . I have been sharing on the AM build group on FB and with members of the FB academy for my local group. Again amazing people still don't know why it took me this long In life to jump in. Now I have built Armor for fantasy RPGs and some cosplay before so getting out old tolls from the 90s is warming to my soul. Brown box day April 20 YAY ... Now next was getting few more tools ... Then we'll got to start somewhere after watching all the videos that a brain can handle. So we cut teeth. And we'll the saga keeps getting better ...next a few helmet photos of progression as I built And not 100% done yet make a few additional changes and started to paint Ok more toys to add to the helmet ...how much can we fit?? Now we love on to a few other orders that came in along the way Boots ... DroopyDoo kit (this starts a obsession and will be another part to this post ;).... Anyway this is to keep record off very first build started April 20 2019 and can't wait ...I leave you with my first Thermal Detonator straps .... Oh and a hello to everyone ...1 point

I was worried I might get it in the wrong position and be asked to move it for approval. The magnets on the armour are attached with 3M double sided tape, so they can be easily moved. I figured if it works for car trim, it should hold up.1 point

TY wook1138. All great tips here is a sneak peek of helmet now. The exact point you brought up has been in my notes and I'm still working on it but I'm happy where it sits now. Well at least I think it's a happy place between to low and to high. I haven't quite finished still need to paint a few outlines and the white over screws.1 point

Ah, he finally did it. Great to see your build thread here, Simon. That is some serious progress right at the start. Hollowing the inside of the folding stock is not an easy task. Well done! And the first 3 aluminum pieces are installed.1 point

Started off an E11 build thread over here: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/47280-simes-anh-e11-build-doopy-doos-tino-kit/ ...since the UKG won't clear a trooper without a blaster...despite the CRLs explicitly stating that it's an optional item (which I thought was a really good thing since not everyone is comfortable around replica firearms, especially in the UK). Ho hum...1 point

I had been thinking about using a similar setup when I get to attaching my belt, don't want anymore holes in my armor1 point

Thanks. I think it will work, but time will tell. If I pull it out of position, either up or down, it wants to pop back into place.1 point

Nice, I'd be interested to hear how it holds up during troop. Look very clean, great work1 point

Looking good Derek. Just a heads up the hovi screens should sit just inside the lip of the tip itself. Not a huge deal but worth mentioning. Keep up the good work1 point

Hi Henry, Great build! Unfortunately, before we proceed with your review, you'll need to remove your TKID from your blaster. We totally understand why it's there and you're welcome to put it back later, but for the purposes of your application it will need to be removed or covered. Thanks! Sha Sha1 point

Thanks for your suggestion! I will try to adjust the support frame inside the helmet accordingly.1 point

Resources thread One you want here Works great and it's just a matter of adding a couple of screws to the side of the blaster/s1 point

First of all, Thank you all for the warm welcome, I'm honored to be working towards becoming a member of such a friendly group of people. Yes, RS informed me that my order will take eight weeks to build, it is a commission made to my measurements and specifications. I'm alright with waiting, it'll be worth the wait I'm sure. I am very much interested in qualifying for EIB and Centurion, I ordered not only the armor, but also the helmet, the blaster, the soft pieces, the body suit, and the strapping. I've been doing research into checklists for EIB and Centurion and I look forward to seeing my armor in person so I can evaluate the small details more closely. Thanks again everyone, I'll be in the forums preparing myself for BBB day! For the glory of The Empire!1 point

Just a brief update, I'm adding a small margin to some of the items on my Shapeways store. Nothing huge, I'm going to round up to the nearest 50c, and the few extra $ every so often would allow me a to treat my self to some free postage every so often! I had a quick look at the sales and there's over 65 of the cylinders out there now which is pretty cool!1 point

... we question armour origins and accuracy all the time. Nobody is attacking your friend or his decision to buy this set. Or yours for buying two sets to give to a sick friend. Thats awesome. Second judging by the pics we've see while the vendors comms may rock his quality assurance needs to look up quality assurance. If they are 300.00 a pop he did his research when anovos offered tier 1 pricing on 650 dollar kits with finished helmets. yes kits sell at that price. but only if they are expensive kits at 50% off. Would you have paid 600 for one? I expect some gmls to deny basic approval. I expect some gmls to allow it. I expect the quality will have to improve before any make eib or centurion. Thats just my opinion. Im entitled to have one. So are you. and yes. Im an armour snob. ATA FTW. No chocolate Jawas. But its all good if it looks good. I1 point

Since there are lots of discussions going on about TKUK atm - here and on facebook, I will tell you about my experiences with the armor and the makers. At first I want to set clear that TKarmor.com (AM) is not the same as TKarmour.com (TKUK) But TKarmour.com (alias TKUK) is the same as stormtroopercity.com To begin my story: Nearly 6 years ago, I purchased a TK ANH Stunt armor on eBay. Unfortunately I didn't know the FISD by then and I had no experience at all. So I made the mistake, bought it and later found out, that it was an armor FX recast. There was a print on the BBB, saying it comes from "stormtroopercity.com" After I discovered the 501st Legion (especially the German Garrison and the FISD), I got some help here'n'there to build my kit up to approval. (of course I had to get another helmet...) Here in the FISD I asked whether anyone knew the maker and Joseph from Stormtroopercity reported to me, that he and his friend David (Ashcroft) are making that armor. By then, they already had developed a new mold for the helmet and he was willing to send me one for free. Not only that - they were also making their own molds to improve the armor (that's what he told me). At that time, one of my friends ordered the Stormtroopercity/TKUK armor. It was a kind of "in between development version". I compared it to my Anovos kit and my old FX armor and I was impressed about the development. (FX - TKUK - Anovos) So I encouraged him to make more changes to make it a reputable, good looking armor. That's what they did. Unfortunately accuracy is still not top notch and quality got lost due to thinner material. Two other friends ordered the actual kit, TKUK is selling right now - The armor is looking good, but you can clearly feel the lack of quality. Pulls are not clean, some parts are too thin, so they easily crack and so on. I've heard people rumoring, this was an SDS recast (because of the long chest plate...) - what I have been told, it is not. It's an evolved FX kit with losing quality on the material, but gaining accuracy and for a cheap price. Here is a comparison of the 3 different abplates they've sold over the time: apart from the missing buttons it's hard to find similarities with the FX and the new armor So in my opinion it's not a rip off if you know what you buy: It's definitely not high quality, but cheap and to be honest - good enough for approval (Higher ranks are another topic....) Anyhow your goal should be a high end armor, so I personally would chose other makers nowadays. If anyone knows better about that armor or the makers, please let me know! I'm not the wisest man in the universe and I'm willing to learn. Here is a shoot of one of my friends in his TKUK armor. P.S. I'm not related to TKUK nore am I working for them - I didn't even meet them in person, we just messaged here on the FISD... But I've made my experiences (good and bad) and want to share them with you guys. Best regards, Danny TK-555501 point
