So it's done! Now time for her to submit photos for basic acceptance. I am so excited for her to be an official TK! Here's her big reveal at our armor party yesterday. All 4'11" of her! Thanks for following on this TK build. The adventure will continue on my next RS TK Hero build after DragonCon. Cheers, troopers!5 points

Best advice would be to check out as many builds as possible, starting with the pinned ones, even though there are diffrent armor makers the general building procedure is the same and there`s something to see and learn from on all the builds as there are different ways to accomplish the same thing - becoming an awesome Stromtrooper2 points

As I´m not a part of the rebel scum I have a good feeling about this Looking forward to replacing this poster with one on myself2 points

A way to identify the shins is that the inside should have a shorter swoop, conforming to the muscle, outside then has a longer….good thing is it really doesn`t matter, the RS kit (made from Movie suit) comes with only outer parts (left and right) and is Centurion "worthy" so bottom line is: if it looks and feels right to you then all is good The Troopers in the Movie had all variants but all we see are awesome Stormtroopers2 points

I did a full repaint on my Anovos helmet when I first got it over 2 years ago. I was probably only the 2nd person to do more than a frown touch up. Full details are in my build thread linked in my signature but if you have any questions on how to remove the original paint and decals feel free to ask me.2 points

Hey I learned a few things from all you older troopers. So now I get to return the favor and I remember the odd ball things with the shins. I'm still dealing with them.2 points

Hello All, This will be my first build. Got my armor in recently after the long wait. Been lurking on here for a while trying to follow as many builds as possible. I thought i could use the strapping system that came with the Anovos armor, but the Velcro system didn't seem like it would be great. I am aiming for Centurion right from the beginning as I've read it is harder to change it later on. I am going with the Centurion build kit from Alay on here to help. I also ordered a zipper backed neck seal from Darman. I have cut the excess abs off the pieces. Next step will be figuring out the sizing for more accurate fitting so I'll definitely have questions. Going to remove forearm and shin return edges next before fitting on forearms. Thanks in advance.1 point

After seeing Suttontechs 48” trooper toy conversion for youth armor I decided to do my own. Immediately I realized that this was way to large for my daughter. She’s not even 4 yet. Did his stop me? Nothing stops the first order! Took apart all the screws and got a look at the insides. Started with curved Lexan scissors, dremel, and a jigsaw when able. I plan to replace the grip for the blaster. It was connected to the hand. For the shins I kept the bottoms attached for now. I may have to remove them due to my daughters extreme lack of height. Getting the insides completely removed has been a long process. Lots of cutting and grinding. Quickly realized you can’t let the dremel go fast or it melts the plastic and creates a mess. The main body I needed to completely remove the midsection to shorten it. Not sure if I will use these but I went ahead and cut the hand plates off. May just Velcro or use elastic to attach them. To give an idea how tiny this will end up being, the helmet actually fits. So I went to work on that and gutted it and cut the eyes out. Right now the parts I will need to replace with smaller alternatives are the thighs, ab, kidney, and forearms. The rest can just be big. For the forearms I’m just using the same PVC pipe I used for my TK thermal detonator. My goal is to simply get my daughter able to wear this now. But leave everything original. That way as she grows I can just substitute the larger pieces when needed and she can hopefully wear this for years. I don’t think the helmet will make it more than one year. But I also have a 2nd daughter on the way so this should get plenty of use. Here is everything I have currently. Still need to make thighs and find some plastic to cover the midsections. Also I’m going to be painting this all. I don’t like color of the plastic. I’m toying with making this into a executioner, but I can’t decide. As always any advice, critiques, or questions are welcome. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Thanks and...I know just whom to ask Funny thing about that poster is that my wife gave it to me a few years back , I think when TFA premiered so it was during that time I felt likt "eeaahh" about the new Stormtroopers so I remember beeing polite and saying "I love it!" cause as I have mentioned on a few times, she couldn`t care less about Star Wars so it`s very loving of her to go and by stuff for me to clog up the apartment with, anyways….I didn`t like it much then but now I´m all "it`s so cool, it`s so cool, I wanna build one (yeah I´m a nerd)1 point

Yup! Will do guys. Which reminds me, I need to get ahold of the people I ordered my boots from. 10 days for the boots that were in stock and no word yet.... I’ll do what you all suggested when I get them before proceeding. On another note... I know shin labelling was rumored to be wrong. Do these look right at least? Finally got around to tightening the right ab strap. I merely added more glue to the strap taking out the slack in it. Yes I should be wearing my undersuit but it's in the space cleaners and if that's the only gap there with my normal clothes I think that gap will be just fine for centeruion.1 point

For me, I just used the toothpick and gently chipped/scraped away any excess. Although I’ve not tried it myself, quite a few folks recommend applying the stencil, then a light coat of white paint, then the blue. This can reduce the appearance of bleed from the blue paint. :-)1 point
-
Don’t be too worried - It’s really not that bad. With the stencils carefully applied, then applying light coats, then tidy any bleed with a toothpick. Stencil applied: Before and after toothpick corrections: Hope that helps a little. :-)1 point

If you have your undersuit and boots try them on with them all at once.1 point

Getting going on the T-21. It is a 3D print so I’ve been busy sanding and spraying filler primer. The kit doesn’t include all the greeblies so I ordered these from shapeway. The base part didn’t fit the arm so some trimming was needed. Glued together. This shows the difference between the finished surface and the original with print lines. I’m using the print lines to simulate the ribbed texture of the original Lewis guns. Original I had to remove some plastic to accommodate the rear swivel. Most of the parts are glued and ready for black primer. You can see where I didn’t filler primer the barrel for the ribbed effect. This is a version of the original Lewis gun. Some seem to have the texture extend further back, some don’t. I think it is the same as what is used in the movie based on how the light is reflecting in this shot. I’ll do black primer followed by gloss aluminum and a clear coat. This is my base. I’ll spray gunmetal and black on layer in light coats and rubbing it off a bit between coats. This gives a nice worn look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Got a little side-tracked...was about to glue the sides but made the conclusion that it would be easier to sand the parts separately so I started with that. But they are now glued. Also decided to close the back using snaps so drilled some holes, made som strapping, set some snaps and I think it will work. And made the strapping for the cod1 point

You can always build another blaster in the future and mod it like crazy. That is what I plan on doing!1 point

No problem Rat. Anytime! Really looking forward to seeing your blaster all painted up. It really is the fun part as you see the fruits of all your efforts.1 point

Not at all. We have plenty of larger trooper in our ranks. What we do encourage however is uniformity, if you have to run thicker on the calves than follow suit with the thighs. Before going any further posting some photos as Rat mentioned go a long way in helping us give you correct advice.1 point

Just completed my RWA kit from Ross. Service & communication is impeccable. RWA has a great Facebook community page where you can ask questions, show builds and get feedback from other RWA builders. I was on a limited budget, so I was able to buy my kit in sections over 3 months which helped a great deal, and Ross was understanding and a pleasure to deal with. The kit itself is amazing. Great shape, lovely proportions and fits like a glove. Unlike some other armours, the RWA kit works together wonderfully and attention to detail is brilliant. I opted for a robust 2mm HIPS kit to match my existing lid. Extremely happy customer, and now shooting for Centurion - which should be straightforward with the RWA kit and if you follow Ross' YouTube channel which is a fantastic no-nonsense build guide. I cannot recommend the RWA kit enough. No need to look anywhere else! In a final note, I'd like to thank Ross for his time and feedback. A great guy to deal with - always friendly and helpful. Can't ask for more than that. Recommend 100%. Douglas1 point

Hi all, Dredging up and old thread, and pleased that RWA/Ross is now a vetted vendor, but wanted to share my thoughts of RWA Creations and armour. I purchased my kit from Ross back in Aug 2017. Ross is great to deal with, prior to, during and after purchasing. Very helpful from day one. My armour arrived in perfect condition, with documentation regarding what was included etc. I followed Ross’ YouTube videos, along with the help of other threads on here, the UKG and it’s fine armourers, and the RWA Facebook group, this got me through the whole build. I finished my armour and blaster in Nov (the blaster prolonged the process), and got my UKG clearance on Nov 24th. I’m pleased to say that ‘we’ (group effort) were able to achieve Centurion status with this fine armour. :-) Great seller, great armour, great community. :-) Best wishes, Dan :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I'm going back to all these posts and moving the photos from Photo*uckIt and into Imgur. After building this kit about a dozen times... we've changed a few things to the build process to make it easier to assemble, easier to wear, and lasts longer. I'll update these processes and provide more photos when I have some time.1 point
