  1. Getting close. Just a tip, I added some foam behind the back and chest sections so they don’t rub on the ab and TD, could be worth a look to save the paint getting rubbed off.

  2. Hey Dan! I'll get that fixed soon Also, I've had my first (inofficial) troop yesterday, joined by my favourite Bridge Crew member out there We had a blast and tons of people wanted pictures already, sooooooooo cool! So one thing came to the other and after many GG members told me the costume was looking pretty good we decided to take the approval pictures and send them in: Really looking forward to their reply, and in the meantime I'll eliminate all the smaller things that i came across during the troop, so this will take up some more time, and once I'm approved I'll be working on the EIB and Centurion requirements and application. So I took another big step yesterday and today, but after basic approval, I would be very happy if you guys could keep on supporting me until the very finish which is Centurion Thanks for reading as always, Freddy

  3. Thanks for the encouragement; I’ll get right on removing the paint between the teeth. I have to wait for parts to dry for 24 hours anyways. As you pointed out, I’ve already faced some of the bigger issues, especially plastic wanting to overlap. Paint removal, fortunately, is not all that difficult for me to do.

  4. I'm on the ISD Facebook page at the moment and see they also supply Imperial Boots. I'm firing a message off to them right now and cross fingers another part of the puzzle will fall into place ... Thanks again mate, Gav.

  6. Nice list, Gav. And great to see that your threads are up and running. It gets more and more exciting from here!! I you fancy the building experience, I'd certainly recommend the Doopydoos route. You'll certainly get a more details blaster than rubber options, however it won't take dropping quite as well. However, I'm on 8 troops now and haven't seen a single blaster damaged as yet. If you do go for Doopys, check out Tino's competition set: RS Propmasters use Imperial Boots and I've heard good things about them. Regarding the neck seal, I'd check out ISD (Imperial Supply Depot) on facebook. Their neck seals are made to measure and very high quality. Balaclava - a lot of troopers that I've spoken with, and myself, use Under Armour (UA). One of their balaclavas is around £20, so probably double the cost of most generic ones on eBay, however, they are very well made, breathable and a lovely fit. Happy days, mate.

  8. Hi, Jeff, and thank you for your EIB application and your patience. Let's get to it, brother! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All the required submission photos have been posted, and your armour meets all the necessary requirements for level 2. With that Tony and myself would like to welcome you to Expert Infantry. Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections First, we seriously appreciate for all the updated photos/corrections so far... so I am basing this review on your original ones and the ones you resubmitted. Not a ton of issues, but some items that could use your attention and get you ready for your next step, so let's get started! The paint job on your left tear is a bit small. It should fill in the indentation more, just as the one on your right does. Reference image The square buttons on your ammo belt could be cleaned up by removing the excess E-6000 that seeped out. (I had the same issue). I suggest (carefully) using a razor knife on the edges and then a popsicle stick or your thumb to scrape it off. Easy peasy. Reference image Your latex hand guards have turned yellow due to sun exposure (it happens). In the films, they put a coat of white paint on them so that they would match the armor, which is my recommendation to give you a sharper appearance. Reference image Your left drop box strap is a bit too short and sits on the front of your ammo belt. I noticed in almost all of your photos that it hangs up on your thigh armor causing it to tilt. They should hang below with a minimal gap. This should be an easy fix! Reference image Not a deal breaker by any means, but if you want to you can remove more of the return edge from your back plate. Centurion Suggestions: Because Centurion photos show much more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here. We try to point out all we can from what is seen but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. We add these as a way to enhance the overall look of your armor and get you looking sharp(er)! Not sure if you noticed, but your shoulder bells are on the wrong sides, and will need to be changed for level 3, (another easy fix). There is a "swoop" at the bottom of the outer ridge of each which should face forward. Reference images The paint on the teeth needs to be cleaned up on the edges. A cotton swab and some NON ACETONE paint remover should take care of this easily. CRL: "Frown area is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area". Reference images The gap on the right side is back in your last set of updated photos. This will need to be eliminated for level 3, and could just be a matter of attaching some strapping on that side to hold it together. CRL: "Ideally there is no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor". Reference image I see that you put some glue on the straps in the rear of your drop boxes to keep them in place, but they still need to align with the outer edge of the ammo belt. I had the same exact issue and I ended up just eliminating the loop and gluing the strap directly behind it. CRL: Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt.." Reference image I see that there is a larger than normal gap between your shoulder bells and chest/back, that they should sit closer to the shoulder bridge, and that you may have trimmed too much off of the sides, but you have attempted to correct this by reshaping them and eliminating all the return edges. It will not affect you at level 3, but I suggest looking into replacing them at some point. (Don't forget the direction of the swoops)! You have done a really nice job on this build, brother, and I applaud your pursuit of perfection. Just a few more steps and then I expect to see your submission for Centurion!

  9. Hi Freddy, I’ve just spotted something: it looks like your right calf coverstrip is possibly overlapping the wrong way at the back. They should both overlap from the outside of the leg, however the right calf appears to be overlapping from the inside. In other words, the coverstrips should be glued to the outside part of each calf. Hope that makes sense. :-)

  12. After the blaster it was time for the back pack and I decidedafter the primer that it was good enough, so after some paint and clear coating it was ready for the detailing, there were no decals for the "trim" that goes all around the sides so that`s painted and no small squares pattern that goes on the handle/grip of the lid so I have to figure that that out...all in all pretty happy with it and still waiting on magnets for the lid so that`s only taped in the position I want it. It`s wery light so I´m sure magnets would hold it just fine on the back plate but as I´m going to have the vest I will use those straps to also secure the pack...not decided how yet, have some ideas though but need some armor done to be able to test those ideas

  13. http://501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=28607 I started my Jimmiroquai Rogue One TK on April 2nd and was approved on July 22nd. I got this kit to celebrate my 50th birthday. This kit is very different from OT TKs in many ways but perhaps the single largest difference (from a construction perspective) is that it is made of flexible fiberglass rather than HIPS. It must be painted and most of the problems I have run into have been centered on paint more than any other aspect. I have been told that my build thread here in FISD is pretty extensive and comprehensive so I will not rehash all the good and bad things that came from the build. I will simply provide a link to the thread and anyone wanting to read through it can do so. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/44463-11b30b4’s-rotk-build/ I chose the Rogue One TK because of the detail and I loved Rogue One. This is not my first costume. I have been an active member of the Mandalorian Mercs since January 2018 and have been told that my Mando build was equally extensive. So now I will be seeking EIB and Centurion for my ROTK. I am very excited to be an official member of the 501st and I have been blown away with the support of all the members who helped me along the way. 16. Heat gun used on the ammo belt to get it to conform to the thigh band a little better. Temporary screws in place in case anyone sees anything wrong, if good to go I will use the rivets. So the pictures are all over the place on centering the ammo pack on the ridge or off to the side. Based on gallery pictures the ends of the ammo belt go to the rear of the thigh, so using the back as the starting point I wrapped around and just had enough material. Cut off 16mm on each side. On this shot I took out the big bends and got it a little more round. Nice view when looking down I did the 6mm from the end and 10mm for the ammo belt, it all lines up now and conforms to the sides Side view with the swoop cut out (used a vegetable can as a template)

  17. yes! first person to get photos in that the LMOs can use also becomes the CRL model. I'll also send a free Phasma coin. How is that for an incentive?

  18. I have missed several Cons and events I had planned to wear this to. Looks like I will miss bringing it to WorldCon as well. So frustrating, I am almost at the point of just asking for my money back and then trying to sell everything I have purchased on the side for it and washing my hands of this thing entire debacle. It's taken something that was a passion and turned it into something I am starting to resent. They have truly turned me away of purchasing anything from them again in the future.

  19. OK, trial fitting. No cover strips and arms are not glued (in case I need to resize). I think I will need to hot water bath the biceps. If the interior strips are attached via superglue, does that give problems with hot water bath (loosen or become brittle?). Forearms are not attached, so had to hold my arms at an angle. With helmet (not finished as well - got to find more time in the day)
