  2. Hi Kevin, great to have you back, posting again. Awesome job done on the folding stock, scope and the smaller pieces. The only thing that I would re-check is the width of the clearing stripe on your inner bolt. And the LED sticks out a bit too far in your magazine top plate. That should be easy to correct with some washers. Please don't feel pushed, it's just us here at FISD, wanting you to get the best out of your resin kit.

  3. Update time again! Managed to get some work done on the display while the helmet paint outside was drying. Drilled the 4 holes into the base plate where I wanted the blaster to sit in the end and the pre-drilled the holes into the legs. Afterwards I just screwed it all together and voilà: I am still going to glue extra backings next to the legs to stabilise the thing more, so expect another update soon

  4. Hey Tino, I adjusted the clearing strip. This better? I know it's a little high up but I like it this way. Made the strip 6mm. Dennis Blue Snaggletooth send me a reference picture and I took measurements from that picture. Will be adjusting the LED tomorrow and continue to work on my trigger group. Again thanks for the tips and info!

  5. Unfortunately I can not provide an exact measurement at the moment, as my digital calliper is currently unavailable. But it should be around 5.5 mm wide. Maybe someone else can chime in to help. And for the LED: just add washers, so it only sticks out about 1mm or less. On an original Sterling magazine you can push this button to slide off the top cover and access the spring powered loading mechanism.

  8. Depending on how wide the plastic is, the belt might be a touch too high; the plastic should just touch or slightly overlap the ab button plate. I don't think a larger overlap is necessarily a problem, though. Also, having the snap under the ammo pack is actually kind of a pain because it makes it hard to snap the belt to the ab since the line 24 snaps are pretty hard to snap. I ended up putting a little box of abs inside the ammo pack so that I had something to push against when I snapped the belt on.

  10. I dont think you need to worry too much about that as long as the snaps are hidden by the abs belt. you will have three other rivets to hold the abs belt to the canvas belt

  11. I measured mine from the end of the Velcro just like you did. From my middle I took the measurements of my snaps, divided by 2 and measured out from the center for the snaps. I ended up moving one side of the snaps about and 1/8 in out more to allow the snap to not be under tension and hold better rather than popping off after I did a trial fit.

  12. Hey Ian, saw your pictures at FB in the sun. Great! 1.: What if you smaller the length of the ab and kidney strapping. Maybe you have to open the split rivets. (excuse my english) Could it be the strapps are too elastic, cause of their length so they won´t fix the ab and kidney in right position. 2.: Please don´t do it. In my opinion you take a piece af the rs spirit. Buti won´t tell you what to do. Greets Wolfgang

  13. Hi Juan. Brow looks good to me. Hero usually sits right on the top of the eyes. Yours looks like it has at least 1/4inch. Regarding the thermal det, are the clips right up the the end caps? Hard to tell on that pic. Best wishes Dan

  14. On finding the center of the belt, do you measure between the velcro (meaning do you exclude the velcro pieces on each end)? Do I start the measurement at: And end right before the velcro:

  16. Hi all, It's been a while since I have been able to find the time to work on the blaster and post my progress. At this moment I am very busy with finding a new job and have been very busy with my portfolio and job interviews. The past days I have been able to rip myself away from the computer and continue my blaster build! Time for a big update! First of all I had to move from my loft space because it was getting very hot up there. I took me residence in the downstairs garage now and must say I'm happy with the change of scenery. First thing I started working on in the new space was the folding stock. Next I put some extra work in the spaces between the t-tracks and the main body. Added the bayonet lug Inner bolt, plunger and extractor Next up: The magazine Waited with the telescope for a long time because I knew it was going to be hard. Big gap because I got really stressed and forgot to take pictures. Need to clean the joint with the front lens. Added some detail to the rear sight. Modifications to the end cap clip. Everything coming together for the first time! Still a lot of work to do, but the end is in sight! Very happy with the result so far! I'll try to post my updates sooner! Until next time!

  17. That is 100% the plan! Only thing I need to do is get another pair of rubber gloves and attempt once more to get the silicone guards to stick (yeah, I know that's Centurion, but I'm thinking ahead )

  19. Welcome to the FISD!! Like Justjoseph has said I would start by reading this section here! You’ll find just about everything you think of when it comes to getting started and your armor needs! Speaking of armor needs our fellow Trooper and Deployment Office justjoseph63 has put together a great and very useful checklist of what you’ll need other then that amazing white shiny stuff. I found that personally it came in extremely helpful for my build. Once that has been all decided upon then I would dive into our EIB / Centurion sections and find out which a little extra effort you can get on screen accuracy. Hope that helps point you in the right direction, I know its a ton of information and a good size financial commitment so if any other questions come up feel free to ask. Its why we’re here “ Troopers helping Troopers” Best of luck in your journey.
