I have been stripped of my DMBO title along with my legion membership, without any sort of hearing. I have been blocked from joining our garrison public forum as well as my wife. When The chips were down, I suspected what my GCO would say and he did't let me down! Everything I am doing to bring you your orders is on my stormtrooper honor . I'm still one of you no matter what anyone says.5 points

We are all here pretty much for the same or similar reasons and at times we do wonder why, but it definitely helps when you get your costume on, you walk out and see the smiles on the kids faces, it warms the heart and even if it's only for a brief time it gives some pleasure. It's always a great help too when you know others are on the same wavelength2 points

The recent issue of the comic book Star Wars produced by Marvel, shows in detail and more "realistic" the armor of Sergeant Kreel. Wearing of course your light saber, jetpack, SE-14R Blaster, right arm accessory, pauldron and other accessories. In my opinion, I see all the same elements of a Stormtrooper stunt armor. Except the chest , abdomen and pair of parallel lines as detail on the left shoulder. Adding also the accessories mentioned above and that can be seen in the images. And even more pictures inside the comic. I think there is enough reference to start a built of this character and and why not, a possible new CRL, what do you think? http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Wars_37 http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Kreel1 point

yeah, my thigh pieces were quite large on me. I also had to taper the cut to allow for my skinny knees (i cut very little at the top and a lot near the knees). You want to share the trimming to both pieces. I just split the total amount in half and trimmed each side. If you have someone around to help you size, you can adjust how much to trim off each side to keep the cover strip join lined up nice along the length of the thigh. If that doesn't make sense, I can probably find an example of this someplace or draw a diagram.1 point

Here we go, a pic heavy update of the very first full fitting we did today. So I really didn't know how it would all look as one coherent costume. There are some finishing touches to do; hem the bottom of the cape, add pleats to the inner robe, new boots, finish the reveal mask greeblies and clips joining the two halves, and other little fitting tweaks, but it is otherwise pretty close to finished. It's two weeks until we debut this one at Supanova, so plenty of time to finish those extras. Pics with both the full mask, and reveal mask... Although we were larking about in this last shot (it was the end of our photo shoot!), it shows the undersuit which is a layer of faux leather over fleece wadding, then spandex underneath. It was hell on earth to sew this and is very rough inside...1 point

I enjoyed the movies I think it’s a different type of consumer now a days and they need to go in that direction. With that being said nothing and I repeat NOTHING beats the original three. So take some time off grab some popcorn and set them up consecutively! I’ve just got my first troop under my belt and as a TK I didn’t see much but I don’t think I’ve gotten that many kid hugs. They came out of nowhere and I didn’t even see them. Even the tweens wanted pics. I had a whole conversation with a girl cause she was acting mad at me (obviously a rebel sympathizer) and I had her cracking up by the time she walked away. It was amazing and I think looking beyond my passion that is what is just plain awesome. So rant away get it all out, get rejuvenated and get out and make some people smile! We are a community that’s here for you and your thoughts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I know how you feel, things can definitely get you down, when it's bad I turn to either Heart of an Empire of Star Warriors. I didn't like the story at first in EPVII, but really liked the updated TK, over the next few viewings it started to grow on me. EPVIII came along and ok didn't mind the TK upgrades BUT why since it carried on straight after VIII, OMG wow so many plot holes, even watching it multiple times it just isn't getting better. Rogue one, yes lets just mix up elements from costumes from EPVII and EPIV, then not see either the elements of costumes but the costumes themselves again through EPIV, V and VI. Can't tell I'm a GML EPIX who knows, everyone complained about the first director and then the second BUT lets get the first one back, "oh he can't do any worse" REALLY (shakes head) With what I'm hearing about SOLO I don't think that's going to be much better. I've been telling people ever since Disney took over that they would kill it, milk it for all it's work, here have a bag of Star Wars grapes or oranges, some body products maybe, a new razor, a bottle of Star Wars water, do I need to go on. We were once seen as something special, a small group of enthusiast bringing smiles to the world and helping charities when ever we could, now any man and his dog on FB can find a costume just like that and join, not for the reasons many of us joined for, or even having to do some leg work to even find a costume, now we are mainstream. OK rant over, here's to hoping it gets better, but I can't see it.1 point

Cheers Dan. I dont want to drag this group down with my TLJ negativity but glad I can honestly just put it out there it bothered me and have great trooper friends to hear me out. Seriously, thanks. ANH is my choice too for all the glory.1 point

Share away, Brian. Worth getting it off your chest. I’m with Daniel on this one - I love watching the OT to remind me why I love my TK so much. Whatever direction the newer films take, they can never take away that feeling we have when we watch the OT, specifically ANH for me. Rant whenever you need. :-) Best wishes, Dan1 point

Thanks. Yes, been watching the OT and R1 as always to remind myself why I am here. They are medicine for sure.1 point

We are here for ya', brother. Rant away. Many things can curb your enthusiasm about trooping for sure, but sometimes you just have to dig deep and remember why you donned that white armor in the first place. Don't let one (or 2) films get you down... Hopefully Solo will redeem the franchise for you with Ron Howard at the helm.1 point

Sorry to hear...if you haven’t already, watch ANH, ESB and ROTJ and that might help in getting you back at full swing..oh, and R1 as I know you liked it from the crystal pack buildthread1 point

Awwwww, it's all too clean . . .for now. Good luck on the build!1 point

One last post here. I’ve started a new build for a sandtrooper. But before I bail on this thread, I wanted to share one last image. I have this on order from Karbonite Kustoms. You can find him on Facebook. So sweet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Ted you convinced me to go the way of rubber guns. I will be ordering an HFX Rogue One E11 as soon as they reply to my message. I would prefer a more functional gun but I will see what I can do with the rubber one. Perhaps later I will build a metal gun, but I ma hoping to have everything in order for approval before DragonCon so I can troop one day as a TK and another day as a Mando.1 point

There aren't a lot of us Rogue One's yet, so there aren't as many resources built up as other TK versions. I've ordered my boots and gloves now from Imperial Troopers, so I'll keep you posted. I'm looking at a rubber kit to use as a blaster, but I have to see how it lines up with Rogue One and if it will work. Since you have experience in building armor, you should do fine with Jimmi's kit. I was a little overwhelmed, but found that once I just started moving forward, it was a pretty straightforward build to do. Good Luck.1 point

Ted, thank you for the information. I will look at some of the rubber gun options but I am not concerned about the weight for trooping. Serving 24 years in the army has prepared me for carrying a heavy gun for extended periods of time. My Mando sniper rifle is based on an airsoft FAMAS F1 and it weights almost as much as my M4 did1 point

I believe they first went on sale in June/July ‘16. I ordered mine about the same time as you did though.1 point

When one ordered doesn't have much bearing on when one's order is shipped. They often go in regional batches. I have seen a nonzero amount of bitching in the past from people who had been waiting years for something and someone who had only just ordered a few weeks prior got theirs in the first round of shipments.1 point

After seeing some other cool videos today, I thought I’d stick this on here. I mentioned on another platform that I’d managed to get kitting up, solo, to under 10 minutes. Well, this prompted a challenge to make a video of kit up, kit down and box up. Although the GoPro didn’t like the artificial light, so apologies for the poor video quality, I did it and here is the result.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

While the wife was packing and wrapping presents and getting kids ready and preparing some food, I snuck down to my office and got my thigh pieces sorted out. Inside cover strip is in both thighs now. I really like the inside strip - if I knew I had enough extra ABS, I would do this for all joins. right thigh with curved seam. Left thigh was good. I also trimmed the left thigh some more.1 point
