TK-12953's Captain Cardinal build

I'm fortunate enough to be picking up a new to me FOTK kit. The current owner believes it is a KB Props version.

I'm hoping to build it into a TFA FOTK and then paint it the correct red to make it a Cardinal.

I plan to log my progress here. Does anyone have suggestions for build pages or even better YouTube builds for a FOTK build? This is a very different build then my OT or the Non-Saga TK I'm working on.

Not sure about this helmet. It isn't cast or ABS, but I don't see any battery boxes or things like that to indicate it is a Black Series or something of that nature.

That looks to be a TLJ helmet as it has the teeth and pointier Jib.

Cardinal is TFA era so you will need a different helmet by the looks.

It’s definitely a Disney one and not a kit. The ones made by Disney are inaccurate in two areas. The groove that goes around the aerator is wrong. It goes straight into the aerator slot and continues on the next side. Also the teeth are usually way thicker than necessary. But I think they’ve changed that to be more accurate as of late with the newer ones. But as stated above Cardinal is TFA so need the TFA helmet, cod, TD markings and if you’re really picky the forearm tops are different and the attachment method for all the parts are butt joints rather than overlapping as in TLJ

 

also love to see more of the armor in better pics. It honestly kinda looks more like an 850 kit than KB. But idk need to see more to really know

And this is why I ask the experts. Thank you! I figured the helmet was wrong. It just didn't seem right, but couldn't put my finger on the issue. Thanks for that input troopers! I'll take some more photos of individual parts and post them soon. I appreciate everyone's input and assistance. When it comes to First Order stuff, my knowledge is severely lacking.

So I took a whole bunch of pictures of the armor. Again, I don't know for sure who the vendor is. I bought it 2nd had for next to nothing.

The trooper I bought it from said KB Props, but I'm thinking as others have said more like 850 Armorworks.

I believe I'm missing some parts, and there are some parts I don't have a clue about. As this is my first FOTK style build, I'd love any and all help.

I'm pretty sure I have all the forearms, biceps and should pieces.

I have the calves and thighs, but there are lots of extra pieces, and I don't think I have the knees. I'm hoping the parts in the top row on the first picture are the lower legs (boot flares).

I have the Chest/Ab and back plate. And I'm guessing that the one part is the "yoke" or part of the "yoke".

Then I have a bunch of Thermal Detonator parts, and some resin greebles (lower leg bars, side arm mount, not sure about the other parts). 

Then I have the cod and butt plates, plus a few drop boxes. I think I'm missing some of these or there is more to it, but, there they are.

And finally I have these parts that I don't have a clue what they are for.

I originally thought they one parts might be the flares for the lower legs, but now I'm wondering if they are part of the "yoke", and the 2nd photo are the lower leg flares (spats).

I'm missing any and all of the "clip greeblies", but I'm sure I can aquire/print those.

Anyway these are all the parts.
Any and all input appreciated.

Helmet looks like my black series to me but as you'll need a TFA that's a nice thing to have for a display at home or a con.  They can be updated to clear if you want but it's a lot of work.

I think the partial yoke is to help reinforce the join between the various parts.

The left picture looks like the spats, but the right

KB's is normally white, also has his initials in the abdomen

 

Backstage Props had a piece for the TD plate with a huge amount of left over material

 

850 Armorworks has the same back piece support and I can't say that I've seen a kit separated in the O II area.

Hey James, this is 100% an 850 kit - I have one myself but the only piece I'm using from it is the butt plate because it's slightly smaller than the KB ones.

 

The spats are those flat pieces in the upper right of your first pic, near the helmet. IIRC they're meant to be "rolled". 

 

FWIW if you are missing any parts I'm happy to look at my kit and send you any parts you need if you'd be willing to cover shipping. The reason I ended up not really using the 850 is that the quality of the pulls was quite bad.
