Sly11[Admin] Posted September 23, 2025 Report Posted September 23, 2025 Hi Jorge and welcome to FISD. Everyone uses a photo hosting service to upload images. One of the most popular is IMGUR Below is some instructions on how to use. It is a free service. A far as advice goes, we have plenty to offer as you work your way through the build process, so ask loads of questions. The first advice I will offer is an oldie but a Goodie. Measure twice, cut once. This will make a lot of sense once you start sizing up your limb pieces to fit you better. Next would be to have a look at a few build threads members have made, but focus on the ones the same as the armour brand/kit you have purchased. These are invaluable to any first time builder, as most of us were when we started out in this awesome hobby. Good luck and we are here to help in every way we can. Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted September 23, 2025 Report Posted September 23, 2025 Hello and welcome aboard, you can find troopers local to you via the 501st Legion Map https://501st.com/maps/imagemap-northamerica.php Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted September 24, 2025 Report Posted September 24, 2025 Great to have you aboard, George! 2 pieces of advice I can throw in are: 1. Take.... your.... time. Don't rush your build. Rushing leads to mistakes. If you have an issue, ask us and post up a photo and we will steer you in the right direction. 2. Have all of your build supplies in order before you get started. Having to pause it because you need a particular item can be a pain. I have a thread (link here) which will help. As Andrew mentioned, check out some of the build threads that others have posted. Sometimes it is helpful to find ones that apply to your particular armor maker as each one has it's own little nuances. To get your questions/issues answered faster, I advise starting your own thread in this area. Doing this allows you to post all your queries in one area as well as show off your progress! Best of luck, and never be shy about hitting us up with anything you need! Quote

Mworm1974[TK] Posted September 27, 2025 Report Posted September 27, 2025 Hey and welcome to the best detachment in the legion, slow and double check everything before cutting or glueing. Ask questions if you are unsure and photos speak a thousand words. Quote
Hesikaya[TK] Posted October 6, 2025 Report Posted October 6, 2025 Hey Jorge! Welcome to the FISD and it was good to see you on the Dune Sea Garrrison forums. Looks like you've already gotten some solid starting advice over here. Have you started a Work In Progress (WIP) post on your R1 trooper yet? If you haven't built anything don't worry, many a WIP post starts off with pictures of the box, some parts and your thoughts of what to start on. You can find other builds to check out here: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/162-rogue-one/ As has already been said above, take your time. Pick a part you want to work on and look at what others have done, emerse yourself in the research and take the frst parts slowly. Once you have done a couple pieces it will flow more quickly and next you know you're submitting those approval pics. And hopefully Expert Infantry and Centurion as well. Keep your eyes peeled for armor parties. I'm not sure when the next one in Phoenix will be but we will probably have one in Tucson around the new year. Quote
