I think you nailed the curve, Chris, absolutely spot-on.  It may be the photo or just me, but the inside angles seem just a tad off.

Hows this look:

dfZgRPh.jpg

might make the centre spine a little thinner on the left side to make the left top trap bigger in area. I had used the base print file so theres an extra 3mm width over all that needs to be taken back to accomodate the thickness of the plastic.

Have you included the indent on the front edge as per our chat, or is that something you will leave until ready to resin cast hand plates?

Im having an issue with locking casts on the handplate moulds that the mment and the indent is going to make it worse so will probably be doing resin handplates.

This will be very popular as the details are going to be sharp.

Super exciting! Looking forward to watching your progress. Presumably all the new Disney shows moving forward will be based on R1 TKs so I'm sure we'll see much much more of this style suit in the coming years.

Been a min! I have been sidetracked with some other projects I had more motivation for. However over the past few months I have been slowly working on the Shore and by extension I have some more TK bits. Still working out some details with these but theyre well on their way. Ended up redoing the back plate and chest as I want 100% happy with proportions. I also have shins on the printer at the moment just designing the remaining cover strips. A lot more engineering goes into these ensureing tight tollerances and minimal gaps but the results so far are promising. Lots of resin cast parts coming for the details to get it nice and crisp! The arm was a nightmare getting the curves right. Everything kinda twists along the z axis like a slight helix rather than being totally straight like the OTTK. I think I have got the shape nice with the correct overlaps.

These are looking very nice as renders. Can't wait to see what the pulls look like, along with the resin pieces.

Going to be fantastic having another vendor for New Gen TK's

Been a while boys but I am back on the saddle excited to get this ready for the 10th for R1!

Making the arm moulds at the moment and I swear Im getitng better at engineering these clamshell parts, the overlap and fit is perfect!

Need to paint the cover strips before moulding but thought Id give a quick teaser of what I got. Abdomen is almost done, just needs some sanding but will pull some tests of those this week if all goes well.

Shins have just finished printing too.

All thats left to design are:

- Thighs

- Butt

- Cod

- TD

- Chest + Back redo (will explain in subsequent post)

- Front belt (stillunsure of how I will tackle this part)

Its nearly 4am and Ive been at this for what feels like 12h but managed to rough our most of the parts that were missing. Totally forgot about the helmet! I took the back of my patrol trooper helmet and added a new face plate. Something about it seems off though. Maybe something to do with the eyes? I think I need to raise the cap ever so slightly.

To do list for next helmet revision:

- Adjust traps

- Rotate and scale ear details

- Make new teeth

I cant see anything imediately obvious so gonna need @Sly11 and @gmrhodes13 eagle eyes to give this a look over for the helmet and armour before I start adding more detail (ty ily x)

Well its now nearly 7am, simply could not go to bed knowing the helmet wasnt at least 90%. The update is chalk and cheese, much happier with it!

I think Im happy with the eye shapes. I might tweak the mouth a touch and see how I go. I also need to add the 1mm border to the tears. Let me know any critiques.

I am also happy to send the file to those who want to get 360 views and match to perspectives ect. Anyone who lends a hand with refining the helmet and giving some good critiques can have the finished helmet files free as a thanks!

Happy to go over this, I've got a bit on the next few days (possible garrison staff changes) but will definitely get to it by the weekend. If your happy to allow access to the files that may help.

Ok I had a mintue free.

Area just over the ear there is a small gap which shouldn't be present, the ear should have a small step and goes over the rear section. Also the raised lines on the ear greeble should fill the square area a little more, yours is a touch narrow. You will also need to recess the traps as yours are flush.

Thanks for the quick response Glen! Defos right about the traps, I did recess them but not enough. The gap above the ear is just from the ear being a seperate parts at the moment and I had scaled the ear and didnt close it back up. The ear will be a seperate part for assembly so will be a seam there but not as big as that, good catch though Ill close it up. Check your DMs I sent a link to the file.

Some little tweaks. Nothing major but I think its inching closer:

It still missing some major details which make it look weird but again, just trying to finalise proportions and topology before I add certain things in as it will make adjusting later verry difficult.

Awesome work.

Weird, without a background the face looks unusually long :laugh1:. Still beautiful none the less

It looks so so good. The only thing that throws me off is how close the lenses are to the eyes. The eyes are supposed to recess further back. And the wearer's right still needs the asymmetrical "bump."

Other than that, I'm stoked to finally see another R1TK available :smiley-sw013:

Im playing around with the eyes a lot as I was given some critique to bring the thickness you mention down a bit. So many different variables that interplay and throw others off. Havent forgotten about the bump but as its an asymetric feature I have to add that last.

Have you checked out this video from Adam Savages YouTube channel?

Lots  of good angles in it. Its from Obi Wan or Andor most likely. I'm not sure if there were any changes to the design between Rogue One and the TV shows. I wanna say the mouth looks a little wider/more ANH esque but I'm far from an expert.

I did see this, they did change studios who made more but afaik they are the same design, maybe just put together slightly different.

Although not from R1 these are some close up cut-outs from the Makinarium UK images. They were one of the studios making armour for Andor.

It's always interesting when you start to look at what's in the background of workshop images. In this case you can see they are using some kind of lining in the forearms. Looks to have thickness to it like foam or neoprene type material. Possibly for comfort but to also assist in holding them in place.
