  1. Ok FISD. Teresa (Soulart) (Geeky Pink) has made a request that we re-open this thread. Please keep in mind that at this point the accusations regarding her "spoofing" Imperial Gaskets' threads and Imperial Gaskets' sales threads being deleted are now closed. The DCOG team has found that those accusations hold no merit. It has been brought to Staff's attention by Wyatt and Rhonda that Teresa may have recast their gaskets in the past. The staff feels that this thread will be re-opened and we will have a VERY close eye on this. If either party has any information to offer then I would suggest now would be the time to do so. I am going to make this VERY CLEAR to everyone involved. This thread will only remain open for 7 DAYS maximum. We will have the option of closing it sooner if the staff so chooses. Lets put this to bed for good...
  2. Ok.... now I truly am confused. And put off! Am I honestly being accused of being a recaster again? Yesterday saw Wyatt post publicly on my sales thread that I was “spoofing”. (Which I still don’t understand what he means) telling me I cannot use the words Imperial or gaskets in a sentence. Like EVER. As though you own these words? I’m struggling with this. Are you accusing and posting to Imperial Boots, (they sell gaskets) the First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment (many make gaskets here), or anyone else that uses the world imperial as well? That If I’ve typed these words anywhere at anytime I’m trying to prevent you from selling somehow????? Or stealing your business? Ive read through my entire years of postings to see how many times I’ve said Imperial.... have you? I’m sure the FISD moderators have and found very few instances. And to top all of this ridiculousness off, I awake this morning and find myself in a Recasters discussion???? Honestly???? I’m going to now hold you detachment leaders and moderators accountable here as you DO have proof and correspondence of this instance from the past as many of you were around. Including our DL. I was very kind and patient 2 years ago when you (Rhonda and Wyatt) began your attack of me. Tried my best to even have a working relationship with you and support your business. Even advertise you on other sites. To be fair to everyone that created gaskets so that hopeful TKs could make their own choices as to where to buy. I help moderate the Phasma costume page, and you are listed there as well! Forgive me if I lose my patience now. These types of things bother me greatly and I have no tolerance for false accusations or people deliberately trying to hurt other people. I’m pretty straight forward. Honest. Kind. Compassionate and most certainly am not greasy or underhanded. I try and treat my customers with greatest respect, try to provide the best customer service I can, deem it an honour to sew for whomever asks that of me, share my patterns and materials freely to help others create their own goods, and I genuinely care about people, our members, their costumes and what we do on a whole when we are in them. I’ve costumed since I was 14 years old. (That’s 34 years now) the past few years now with this particular detachment in the building of my first armor in April of 2016. As kind as I may be, I’m also feisty and happy to defend myself here or anywhere. I began selling almost 2 years ago. At the encouragement of a dear friend that ran the Phasma page. To help the upcoming Phasmas and FNs. January 2017. As no one could get approved due to gasket wait times. Upon that time I was accused by Wyatt and Rhonda of recasting. And at which time Rhonda accused my brother of stealing her design. (Which is not true.) After much debate, discussions, reading of past correspondence between my brother and Rhonda, much back and forth between Rhonda Wyatt and I , a personal 3 way call between the 3 of us initiated by myself and investigation and involvement from THIS detachment, it was proven by all that I was NOT in any way in the wrong or recasting and had the ability to be a seller here in the FISD. Wyatt himself then even welcomed me on my sales page. This was resolved and everyone went on their merry way. Now, here we are almost 2 years later, and I’m defending myself again? WHY? Because I said Imperial citizens? Or Imperial goodness? Are not all of us in this detachment referred to as Imperials? Because he feels that I’m responsible in some way that his presence here is altered? Or their business affected? Or am now being questioned as a recaster once again???? I am sorry.... whatever has happened here regarding Wyatts position in the FISD has nothing to do with me. And I take offence at being accused by him again, or that they are somehow trying to use me as the scapegoat for his misdirected anger. Or affected business As though Im responsible. I am not. My gaskets looked nothing like theirs. They’ve since altered their design awhile back and look remarkably like mine! Should I have screamed recaster?? Possibly. They are made out of completely different materials. And unless they hold a patent on the human body, ANYONE that can sew or pattern is capable of creating a set of gaskets. A rectangle is a rectangle people. An arm is an arm. A chest is a chest. I have proof of private correspondence between Rhonda and I on my Facebook page that I will bring forth if I must. Seeing as that it was private, I shall respect Rhonda’s words unless I’m forced to share them. And this detachment HAS past conversations regarding this once resolved issue. The phone call the 3 of us had regrettably will have to be he said she said as there’s no proof to back up what anyone said here. But it was a good call that ended very well and positive to the best of my knowledge. It must have been, because I was proven not a recaster and invited, encouraged and allowed to sell here on the FISD. I’m not certain what else to say here. I guess I’ll wait and see what else will be said. But please know I’m feeling defensive, and I’m now angry and disappointed with many things regarding this. I am awaiting my neck seal which hopefully will be delivered this week and thought if there are any changes to be made prior to submission, why not post my current images for pre-approval. If that is acceptable that is? Appreciate all the feedback, Nick (MandalorianHelm)
  5. Good morning, a friend of mine was talking about getting a shirt with gaskets already on it. Was wondering if anyone has done this or found a few pieces to mod. Right now I have geeky pink gaskets and a one piece undersuit with the shinny shorts. They are fitted to form and while they work it's a process to get everything on. Now that I'm approved would like to start making mods to get kitted up easier
  6. If you sew them on you will need an extra undersuit to go with the rubber gaskets required for Centurion (if shooting for that). I sewed my geeky pinks fabric gaskets to the undersuit and happy with that - kitting up is much easier this way, for me anyways

I can't thank Mark ( @ABS80 ) enough for making such an awesome looking kit. I've done 20+ troops now with no issues and I absolute love how great it looks in pictures. I might be tiny, but I still look badass. Fixes mentioned during EIB submission (and a couple of other things) that have been done: 1. Glue cleaned up. 2. Secured drop boxes so they stay lined up. 3. Shortened shoulder elastics significantly and rounded the shoulder bridges - @justjoseph63 this makes such a big difference! Thank you for the advice. 4. 10. And here we go! Rough trimming is mostly done- a few curves I need to use the dremel on. Next I will fine sand the edges and then I can start assembling the armor! Finger armor has arrived (the yellow pile), and they need sanding and polishing. Gaskets are on order, threw in a neck seal as well (Geeky Pink's), cape, belt and soft belt boxes will be the next purchase. Close up of the boots and lifts: The CRL says no laces, but no laces are going to show, so I should be able to make it work. I found that because of the height the lifts added, my foot wouldn't fit comfortably in most non-lace boots. A pair of my work heels with my lifts for scale, roughly 4''. If I can wear those heels 4 - 5 times per week and walk comfortably, then I think I can do the same with these lifts. I'm going to build up the base a little so that there's not such a distinct drop in slope at the arch, which should also make it more comfortable. And finally, the helmet thus far: A little more fine sanding along the eyes and then I'm ready to fine sand the whole thing. There's a lot of little extra bits that I have to remove, most of which are in tricky places. We'll see how that goes. I'm also going to cut out new lens material. The helmet came with bubble, and I just can't see out of them except a tiny little spot in each eye. Not a great combo for someone on lifts who's already kinda clumsy. No stumbling Phasma around here! With luck, I'll have some time between a troop, decorating for Halloween, and Book Club this weekend to get some more work done!
  11. I have used a couple of neck seals and I can definitely recommend Geeky Pink's seal by quite a bit. Teresa is a pleasure to work with and her craftsmanship is amazing. Definitely a high quality product and a fair price to boot.
  12. Teresa (Geeky Pinks) is in Alberta and she is great to work with! She can make neck seal to your size! Also, S-shape vs. U-shape is indeed referring to the rubber trim that lines the edge of the opening of the helmet.
  13. I just made my own, but yeah I hear the three best are Darman, Veedox (?) and Geeky Pink. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  14. Hello! My name is Sarah, a little while ago I received my BBB from Russia, sent from Denis at ArmoryShop. I ordered it finished because I had seen how beautiful Denis' other pieces were and felt like it would take me forever (and it would take my sanity) to achieve what he had done. Initially I figured I wouldn't do a thread here, but once I started putting things together, I realized it would be important because I've run into some interesting challenges specific to someone with a female body. I'm 5'2'', 125 lbs, and I am a fit person, but I have curves that kind of get in the way of my suit. For example, I really had to adjust that buttplate with the help of a hairdryer (although I had to be careful, as I learned that too much heat in one place will crack the paint already applied (issue of having it pre-finished, I know)). Today, with the help of my dad, I started cutting a sheet of ABS to make some hidden panels for my thighs and the abdomen section. Cuz if my hips were the same size as my waist we'd be golden, but alas. I think it's just that the suits were designed for male bodies with no curves. For the rest of the suit, I have Imperial Boots for boots and gloves, Geeky Pink's (Teresa) gaskets, JAFO's belt kit. I also got an unfinished laser axe kit from Denis, which I've been working on as well. I'm going to try to post on here when I have the chance to work on the suit, the issue is that I live mostly in Massachusetts helping to take care of my gf's sister's baby, so I'm usually not around the heavy equipment or strong chemicals at my parents house in NH. Anyways, I'm excited to be underway with my suit. My dad was watching me work on it today, and he said, "Does everyone put this much work into their suits?" To which I told him, "You should see how much more other people do, what I'm going to be doing is nothing compared to them!" Needless to say, I've admired the folks on this site for so long. You guys are so cool and I can't wait to get this together and become official! Here's a pic of me at work when my BBB arrived. How do you rotate a picture on here?

  17. Accessories Over the weeks, most of my major accessories have arrived: Belt from Belts of the First Order: Boots from Imperial Boots: And custom gaskets, neck seal, harness, and shorts from Geeky Pink: The extra neck seal is an OTTK neck seal that Teresa threw in when I very off-handedly mentioned that the neck seal she made me for my OTTK (which I troop in and love) is just a tad snug. Thank you, Teresa!!! I also ordered shoe lifts from Amazon because the smallest boots that IB makes are men's US 8 (I wear a men's 6 on a good day) so they are super roomy. With the boots, lifts, and helmet, I think I should come in at a TOWERING 5' 6"!!
  18. Ok, Well we are done, but wanted to post to help anyone else and be able to answer questions. We did a Jimi kit, and painted with spaz stix. We had to size down tremendously as my wife is 5'6" 120lbs. We cut the biceps and thighs in the rear, fit to body, then used a Dremel to cut again for a matched seam. We then used ABS strips inside secured with CA glue, and bondo'd the seams. Forearms we cut and sized with the same method, 2 strips of ABS per. We also trimmed the chest piece from the top and bottom to look more feminine. Pictures will show how the fitting came together over the course of 3 attempts and adjustments. We had Geeky Pink Gaskets, Belts from Belts of the first order, undersuits from stormtrooper undersuits. The cape is from the lovely Jessica. Holsters from Justin Lee. We did a simultaneous build.. FOTK for me and Phasma for the wife. Please ask any and all questions. We could not have finished without the help of this group and the facebook group. We want to share what we learned best we can.
  19. So did more work last night on the upper body armor. I got the magnet mountings for the chest piece to the yoke setup. I also attached snaps to the ab plate for my Geeky Pink's harness. In testing the fitting I found that the only downside to the front on the yoke is that with the wing tips going under the arms to the back they get in the way of taking it on and off, so you have to stretch it out. This led to a crack in the yoke on the left shoulder (small one that I've filled with Epoxy glue and covered with Apoxie Sculpt). I will be also reinforcing the yoke much more with fiberglass as it's going to be the most tampered with part I feel and I don't want to find more cracks over time with it if I can prevent it. Luckily it's a piece that doesn't need to be bending much at all. to remedy the stretching I'm going to be slicing the wing tips off (they aren't needed as the chest piece goes to the back plate fine). I'm also going to trim the bottom 1-2 inches off just for better fit/removability. Something like the red lines. Otherwise here's the updated images of what I've got going. And a video showing the magnet chest working: https://i.imgur.com/d6EKBXT.mp4 Chugging along here. Tonight I'm going to reinforce the fiberglass on the yoke and then work on getting the TD magnets to the Ab piece mounted. I have ordered some heavier duty snaps for this and they should be in soon. Once those come in I will be doing some more snap setup on the back of the ab piece and then the chest piece to the back. Plus the strapping for the thighs. After that there's only a few things to do before sanding/filling/priming/painting.
  20. Gasket Velcro Installation: Geeky Pink's gaskets include the velcro strips to install on the inside of the various pieces. Where to put them is a different for every person however. my first thought was that you just install the strips at the top and bottom of the pieces and have at it. Boy was I wrong! The biceps sat way too low on my arms that way. Here is where the strips ended up for me. The top strip connects to the chest gaskets and the bottom strip connects to the elbow gaskets. Biceps: As far as I could tell from reference photos and other troopers, you want the bicep seam and the forearm seam to line up as much as possible, taking into account the natural bend of the arms, much like the OT TK's. Apply the same methodology to the legs, except that you only need to worry about the knee gaskets. Thighs are connected via the method I already outlined. In my case, the strips did end up going as near the bottom edge of the thighs and top edge of the shins. Be sure to check fitment for yourself though. Shins:
  21. As you have all had a chance to read the misinformation, let me set everyone straight. I made some sales that were not deliverable due to bad plastic, this situation repeated itself 3 times. I was forced to buy small amounts of plastic (per Sheet), the supplier I use is the only one that sells per sheet. As a result they sent me old stock that was contaminated with moisture, since the 4x8 sheets needed to be cut down to 2x2 , I was unable to return them, hence so many B-grade sales. I handled this poorly and I am to blame for the way it was handled , I take full responsibility. I was approched by Hal and his GF for a phasma kit, I was paid a deposit the day it was picked up, the balance was never paid. Hal invited me to join his shop, making promises of supplying aluminum holsters for my kits as I supplied him with the file to cut them out. This never happened. During the course of stay at the shop, many promises were made by Hal. At the time of the TLJ premiere we met Shaun , he came into the shop with 40+ tie & At-At kits some built ,most in kit form. He stated he made the molds for Anovos for the fotks and that he finished the job and took the molds with him, he also stated he had 60+ FOTK sets he was willing to give to the shop as long as he got a cut of the sales. After borrowing money from Hal and wasted fett, suspicions began to surface regarding his legitimacy. As it turned out he stole all the armor kits he had from Anovos/Skin Shop. Hal made contact with Dana head of Anovos and confirmed what we thought, all kits were returned to Anovos, In Hal's convo with Dana, he informed him that we had seen the new armor and that my molds were being updated as a result, which I posted on my FB page the updates I made. Shortly after this Hal took a Discovery channel job, using my fotk molds to make 5 sets of armor for them. He never asked my permission, I walked in on him pulling parts and the electrician doing the leds there. Only after I asked Jsin what was happening, as my kits were not being pulled, I found out about the discovery job. Jsin stated that Hal was going to pay him for pulling the armor, but he never got paid. Hal also decided to use my flame trooper molds to make his friend a power ranger or something like that costume, he pulled 5 pieces and heat gunned them to reform them and cut them to fit his frame, but you can clearly see it is a flame trooper chest plate. Again not asking my permission or offer to reimburse me for using my property. In my opinion he felt that if it was in his shop he had the right to do what ever he wanted......WRONG. I posted a revenge of the 5th sale on my page with 5 slots on the post, I had 1 interest that I added to the post, Hal answered all the PMs and made 7 sales all with the money going to him as friends and family. This is what caused the end of me being in the shop. He claims he put out all this money, when in fact he asked for a Cardinal set of armor to troop with phasma, he got his kit, never did he try or offer to repay me. He was wanting to use that balance as my shop rent. I paid 2 months rent and Jsin paid 2 months rent, since Jsin was working under me, a total of 4 months were paid in rent. Hal claiming he put out money for the ABS is a complete lie as it was wasted fett, Geeky Pink and Tristan a good friend that put the money forward, Hal did not contribute anything to the ABS, he did purchase styrene and petg. Tristan put it all on his credit card, and Hal forwarded the money from WF and GP to Tristan. When Hal was confronted on how the money from sales was to be distributed he got upset because I did not agree with the way he was deciding the split. I told him that he needed to discuss all decisions with me before implementation, he then told me to come get my stuff as he was kicking me out of the shop. As a result he is holding one of my 3d printers hostage saying I own him for the electrical hook up.....there was never any verbal or written contract stating I was responsible for the electricity hook up , Hal said he did not mind spending the money as I was joining him. I made many mistakes, I own them and am making it right for my customers and myself. I have nothing to hide, to be completely honest, when all is said and done I will be handling this in a professional manner outside of the forums.
  22. Thigh Supports: When I purchased gaskets from Geeky Pink, I also commissioned her to make a vest to which many pieces could be secured. Included in this vest was a waist belt and some extra 2 inch nylon strips to hold up the thighs. After aligning those extra strips to hang down off the waist belt where I wanted them, I marked with a line where I wanted the top of the thigh pieces to sit. After that I measured and marked holes on the corresponding snap plates. The exact measurements aren't important, you just need to be consistent. For example, if the top line is the top edge of the thigh, then you can place the top of the snap plate at the inside top edge of the thigh. And if you mark the holes at 10 mm and 20 mm (just examples) then do the same on the matching piece. Front Back "WHOA WHOA WHOA ANZO!" you say as you look at the whole vest. Why are there 2 sharpie lines on the thigh holders now? Good question you super slueth. This is a good opportunity to highlight the mantra "measure twice, cut once." Or in this case, glue once! After I did the steps I described above, I had this nagging feeling that I should check fitment again just to be sure. Sure enough, when I put the vest on again, I was able to slide the thighs up ever so higher. I can't account for why, I must have marked wrong or something the first time. In any case, the top lines represent the true height at which the thighs should sit. No problem! since I knew the line represented the top thigh edge, I measured the difference between the lines and moved the snap plate down by that much. So in my case it ended up looking like this once glued.
