  1. What everyone else has said Caleb. Also watch out for kiddies heads with your blaster. They are usually just under your limit of vision and I almost bashed one on the head a while back ( thanks to a great spotter for preventing that ). I have now made a habit of raising the blaster a little after moving out of a photo pose, just in case. Enjoy it bro...! Darren
  2. I origionally left a lot of plastic on the abs/kidney too, but I've since taken off the excess. I do have a big ol' posterior, so didn't need to bend in the butt plate. Breath in at the start of the troop, breath out again at the end
  3. For some odd reason I decided to strip don my TK, redo a few things I don't like ( better shoulder bells and bridges ) and re-make the strapping system. I'm still hoping to be ready for EIB in the next few weeks. Darren
  4. Hi Brad. Don't forget to keep a look out on the For Sale/Trade parts of forums. I've just upgraded from a MRCE to a AP for a very reasonable price. Darren
  5. Hi Paul. I think I have some fine wire modelling mesh left. I have used it on my TK and Clone lids. It needs spraying black but it gives a great look to the frown. PM me with your address and I'll pop some in an envelope for you ( if I can find it ) Darren
  6. Terrible news mate. Thoughts go out to his family. RIP
  7. Hiya Jamie. Like many have said here, the MRCE is a durable little bugger and for that reason I love it. It's damned near indestructible, which can be a good thing on some troops. I also agree with many who have said that you will want to improve up to a movie accurate lid sooner or later. I'm ready to do that now, but I'll still keep the ol MRCE for troops that are likely to involve the public getting a bit 'too touchy'. I don't know if its any help but there is a shop in Darlington ( Wow Factor ) that regularly stocks MRCE lids. Maybe if you found their E-mail they would post one out to you. Darren
  8. Yep, leave it Mark. It's good honest real life wear and tear. I'm weathering clone trooper armour at the moment and trying to recreate what wears naturally is a pain. Your TM looks great.
  9. Aah the crappy Rubies costume rears its ugly head again. Has anyone ever tried to get 501st clearance with one of these?
  10. Hey Shiv, you've been buying again mate. It's a thing of beauty Nothing beats a nice BFG.
  11. I gotta agree with John. I've used a sandblaster many times and even with the pressure down low I can't see it not breaking through any weaker areas in the helmets. Superb reference photo's by the way guys. I'm gonna be retiring my FX and building another armour next year and I feel the urge to go ESB...
  12. Hey Chris with a lid that shiney you'll need more spotters around to prevent those pesky fingerprints mate
  13. Did a great little troop in Goole, Humberside on saturday. Then today worked on my 501st Legion clonetrooper armour for few hours. Now having a few beers and cruising the FISD, the UKG and Clonenetwork. Daz
  14. Yeah I agree as well. Billy Haggis has been a great help to me with my E-11 mods, and he is a great guy to troop with. Also Steve Parkes (TK6631, I think), who has lived upto the 'troopers helping troopers' motto. Twice he has offered me bits n pieces and has refused to take any payment. Darren
  15. It does help a bit, so I think its worth it. I agree with adding a strap and poppers too. Not just if you haven't trimmed the long tab off, but to prevent any embarresing 'cod flap' Darren
  16. Hi Mike. I used white silcone sealant. No painting required and flexible.
  17. Youe were unlucky with the heat gun there mate. Your repair looks like it should work though. Be sure to post pics of the finished repair. Good luck Darren
  18. WOW I never knew that. Often wondered why I heard people talking about movie accurate gray AT-AT driver lids. They do say you learn something new everyday.
  19. Hey Guy. Good luck on your quest for EIB ( I'm going for it too after my clone is done ). See you at Movie Mania 3....
  20. That's exactly how I want to do the brow trim on my next helmet. Nice work mate.
  21. Now that would be VERY cool. Can't wait to see it. I WANT ONE
  22. This is one of the things that is actually OK to buy from eBay. That's where I got mine from.
