  1. I'd have to go with the MRCE too. I have one I regularly troop with it carrying fans, batteries, a mic and I used to have my romFX in there too. Plenty of space. The FX just looks odd. <_<
  2. After similar problems I contacted a fellow member who is an electrical whizz. Now I run 8 AA rechargble batteries. I've just done a whole weekend troop ( about 14 hours ) one one set of batteries. Darren
  3. Ah,ha. You may have something there Gary. Are they ever seen together?
  4. Aah Christian that wonderful feeling of opening up brown cardboard boxes full of cool stuff PRICELESS. ENjoy the build mate.
  5. Hi Steve. D-Mac tells me he has a spare Hensler in his garage so I'll buy that off him. The butt is my only real dilema ( the armour's not mine ). It is split, but it lies under the belt. Thinkin I could just lengthen the straps that hold it on????? ( comments from anyone here welcome ).
  6. Maybe it's a badge of accuracy. ( Only 8 shots fired before he could hit the barn door from twenty paces.)
  7. Nice one Stephen. Told you that you'd get there before me. All I've got to to now is get the butt section below the belt line and fit a Hensler to my e-11 then I should be there too. Darren
  8. Yeah that's what I thought Mark. I never was a patient person
  9. Nice work sir. I'm reading everything on painting lids at the moment so I'm finding it helpful. I had a problem with a lid a while back, when I laquered it the paint crackled ( don't know if I left it long enough ). Can't wait to see this finished.
  10. Some really good pics there Jason ( a lot I haven't seen before ). I agree with you guys, that pic of the guy posing in armour looks all wrong, way too many discrepancies to be a actual movie suit. He also describes the undersuit as being 'baggy'. Suspicious, very suspiciuous
  11. Nice work sir.! The same set up as I'm using. Good build
  12. Weren't hinting to me there were you bud? Unfortunately I've got two people wanting DC15 rifles doing, otherwise I may have been tempted. Darren
  13. Hi Ashley, I'm sure I've seen Rust-o-leum paint in B&Q.
  14. That looks like a really nice replica. Hmmm wonder if the wife would notice another big boys toy:D
  15. Nice work Derek I love BFG's. I'm on with a DC15 rifle for my clonetrooper.
  16. Welcome Fredrik. These guys are a wealth of knowledge.
  17. Good point Andre. Yeah I do have FX. I'm on with a few improvements to the fit at the moment. I agree the leather lift soles sound ok.
  18. Can't help with the website mate but I can tell you what I did with mine to get 501st clearance. 1. New tube stripe decals - the ones on the MR are rubbish. 2. Used Milliput Fine White modelling filler to fill the frown seam ( its better than silicone and the colour is about right ). 3. Scrapped the thin lenses and put in thicker ( you could either use 3mm thick dark green acrylic or no. 5 welding visor material ) 4. Opened out the teeth a little ( this depends on the teeth opening on your lid, they all seem to vary ) , then repainted Humbrol Gray. 5. Added black painted mesh behind the teeth ( the supplied fabric is rubbish too ). 6. Lastly painted the inside of the lid black ( not sure if its required but ikt makes the job so much better ). 19. This has answered some of my questions too guys as I'm thinking about painting my armour also.
  20. Any plans on selling them once you've got the hang of making them Damian.?
  21. I'm sure I've read somewhere about putting it in the fridge to make it easier to peel ( could be wrong though )
  22. Here's one of my 501st clearance piccy's ----------
  23. Yeah forgot to say mine is a Doopydoo. They are a decent mould. I like the idea of replacing the resin scope rail with a metal one. I'm sure I've got a sheet of 1.5mm aluminium around here somewhere. That would certainly strengthen a weak point on the blaster.
