I quote "I don't see a mark as to maker and am not sure if this is home made or what" Try asking someone in your local primary school! I do love it though. As i bet someone who made that was dead proud of what they'd done You're right, it's just the prize thats ridiculous

I've worked out I can do these for £10 a pair (not trimmed, just cut out) Hoping to sell a pair of these and a pair of my hero ears at £8 So a a hero upgrade kit will be £18 So these ------------ and these --------- Let me know if anyone is interested. I'll start a thread in the correct place now -
Acceptable look for a TK
john danter replied to sixxgunn13's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Just use the soles if your boots to leave black matks on the corners of your kit Less is more when it comes to a TK looking used -
Exactly. As my favourite is tin shears and plastic curved scissors A bit of wire wool and she's a beauty! Everyone does it differently. I feel scissors give you more control but take longer than a score and snap Only thing I won't suggest is a bread knife

Oh yeah I'm not going to argue with that. Just wondering if AA made a nee or diff mould for his hero, or just cleaned it up. You can't ask him and trust his answer, is the point I was trying to make. I know his recent works are way off
-
I'm sure he said that dome shape was his TK lid mould just that the plastic wasn't sucked down as much? That's what gives it the flared appearance. Shame he's been such a b***itter as some of what he says might actually be true. It's we have an instant alarm everytime he speaks One thing though, the hero helmets don't have the bumps? So if he made more than more mould, or even cleaned it up.....that opens a whole kettle of eggs

Parcel2go have stung me in the past Mark. Be warned. When something goes wrong they're a'holes. Don't really care I gave up trying to get my cash back If it's a one off, having a friend in the army stationed somewhere close to where you want it to go is handy. We use a US chap stationed in the UK from time to time. I don't like asking as it's cheeky, but if it's really expensive, we get charged customs fees, so he's ok with it I hope Worth a try? -

Loving him. Sweet job -
True Can't wait for the BluRay discs. I'm sure this hobby will leapfrog once more Thing is though, if you look were the paint has flaked off, even that looks a little bit warped? Then when you add a layer of paint, those little bumps become larger. White reflects light more than any other colour so the angle of light, coupled with the paint on bump exaggeration, would make that lid look like the moon's butt How about shots of inside a lid? Are they as bumpy?
-
Agree but if he lives close to you then he can't mess you about? See if you can half now and half when you collect it? Or if you can't see any difference between ATA and TE then just get the ATA
-
Could this be an age thing? 30+ yrs Paint and plastic combined so it looks like it does today Were they really that bumpy on screen? Not perfect no but some of these things look awful/great, depending on your view Plus was that lid a ANH lid making it even older? It could be like a hero/stunt thing in that this guy was confined to background shots, but if that was pulled like that, that's really bad ....or good, depending on your view

As a cycling fan I'm loving that

Hero lenses you can see through
john danter replied to john danter's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I'm not sure as it depends on how I manage to cut them out of the sheet. Well, you can have them as a strip with the lenses you trim yourself, or I can dremel them out for you but then they'd be a bit more. Plus I can't remember how much I paid for all the perspex. I bought it ages ago lol I'll work it out -

Exactly dude, that's whay I made these. they'll be for sale when I make a few more if you're interested -
I've finally pulled my freeking finger out and made my 'flubble' lenses. I used to make these years ago by hand. Now I've let my machine help me make them To the outside world these are hero lenses (bubbled) but your vision in the centre is like a normal stunt lense (flat) Flat and bubble = Flubble A picture speaks a 1000 words, so here they are in clear plastic showing my lovely eyes Using moulds I made 3 years ago, lol I make these Cut out they look like this Placed inside a lid, they look like this Your vision looks like this As you can see, (no pun intended) vision is blurred and curved on the outside but relatively undistorted on the inside John
