  1. Spraying the inside of your lid black helps with people seeing your eyes
  2. 25mm version of one of these He has something very very similar on his belt holding the commlink, but it seems to have something on the foot of where it's secured onto the belt. Need to take a closer look You see a good shot of it, when Luke and Han meet up with the droids after getting out of the compactor
  3. Woot Woot!! Got a grappling hook off RussRep, dug out my old commlink, found a clip and will vac form a box this weekend hopefully
  4. Sorry about your lid. Dpending on what you've done, turn into a ANH based ROTJ lid You'll paint that whole area black, so it may not sow up so bad
  5. I think a real Sterling was 38mm in diameter? So a 40mm pipe will do fine
  6. Yes quite right Dan I'm sure I read that someone said their guns aren't that big....? May have been a diffferent thread. Please ignore me, I'll go edit my posts now
  7. Oh and I used a heat gun to get the shape again before closing fully
  8. Ignore my advice below. Wrong problem...... Is ATA sealing strip closed (TE based) or butt strip closed? I don't have huge guns either but I just cut my sealing strip bed off. Made my own just by using the natural contour of the biceps Just like ANH anyway, they didn't have a bed for the sealing strip only ROTJ did And if it butt closed, cut that away too and use your own strip to make the diameter smaller
  9. You can make your own dude Not a bad job can be found here http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1204 It's based on a A Rexim-Favor SMG
  10. They look fine mate By the time you lid is on, hardly much of it left to see anyway. But they don't look that bad to me anyway
  11. Such a shame when this happens I've had nothing but good dealings with Edward Cushman
  12. Anyone got a blonde floppy wig?
  13. Ah see, now I based my decision on you and Gary actually, as you're both challenged like me as well Yes I remember the space centre matey I was just wondering are Luke arms trimmed a little different. If he's short then his arms will be short too. Like mine. I know both ends of biceps and forarms don't have a return edge so that helps. If it's just the chest plate, back plate and grappling hook, cool Thank you too Paul
  14. Terry's method is great but save the masking tape and sanding, I just use a scalpel to key the surface
  15. Lol, I see your point. I'm basing my buildon Luke's suit....how about that then I may cut the chest yes, but that's for my GML to allow, not me. Not heared back yet. If I'm tall enough not to cut the chest, then there's no need. As yet I haven't finsihed the whole suit
  16. Yeah I've noticed that my BFA armour (just fancied a cheap suit) is a TE derived suit. I 'think' the biceps are different in several way. There is no platform for the sealing strip. TM armour doesn't have it. So fairplay to Paul for spotting that Luke has return edges on his upper thighs, so that's cool. Some of his sealing strips (arms) are angular at the end, so I'll try and do the same
  17. We all know Luke was a short person, so am I, but apart from the chest plate cut, does anyone notice any other differences? Many thanks to Dashrazor here Plus I think his lower edge has been trimmed so there's no return edge. Also to fit his weedy arms (I'll be doing the same) I have a new suit and will going for Lukes look. Hopefully I won't have to cut the chest plate like his though Luke has 2 left arms. Can others kindly list any other differences they are aware of with Luke's suit please? John
  18. Sony glue anything dude Don't forget that rear sean stays open, so we'll see if we can fiddle that I'm off work ATM so can come down when ever just give me a shout ok
  19. Any armour as long as you paint it correctly and use correct handplates should be accepted Only thing maybe the ab plate design and then you need to buy trimming for the armour Ask JoeR on these boards
  20. Lol Yes stay away from SDS Paul is a good egg SDS a bad egg
  21. Yes mate I'd stay away from him if I were you tbh
  22. troopermaster on these boards
  23. Yes. If FX is, so is this stuff His suits are good, come ready made but in velcro etc. We're just just telling you that's you're paying way over the odds for it. It's not accurate (very close though) plus some of his stuff is made from HIPS and can crack. So if you're dead set on buying from him..... Ask him what his replacement policy is if it cracks, and does he use HIPS or ABS The lads here don't mention his name much or advertise him in anyway due to the 2 LFL vs AA court cases in the UK and US
  24. If you're asking can an SDS suit be used for 501st clearance, the answer is yes. However, do read up on this guy. I like him personally (i used to work down the road from his shop) but he is a liar sadly. He makes claims that are not true and has thus put himself in a position where nothing he says can be taken as gospel anymore. The body suits he makes are no way near an original suit. He then claims then helmet moulds are also original too. Little differences will tell you that they may not be (then based on his lies about his body armour, why believe anything he has to say at all) Search for AA or SDS on here and you will find lots of negative comments about him. Example: Look at this ONE fact.(original recently found suit) Do you notice the little dimple at the bottom of the AB detail? (the vertical 4 button plate) SDS doesn't have that. No story he can ever give will explain why that's just gone missing. There are loads of others things that don't match up either. So, yes he made them in 76, no one denies that, yes he can vac form suits rather well, but.................they are not from the original moulds. A pair of his shoulder bells will cost you £113. I sell mine for £20 Here's and SDS uit Here's an original
  25. Snowtroopers suit all shapes and sizes due to the cloth being used not hard plastic parts. Gary is a short @ss and so am I lol I'm looking forward to making my new TK and I'm 5'7" If you are short short, I wouldn't do a TK If you have issues now, they may get magnified when you troop in it and stand next to tall folk Plus one insensitive comment from the public can really hurt. Depends on you Snowtroopers are awesome! And you can wear your own shoes inside the mukluks (snow shoes)http://starwarslego.brickstoys.com/files/2010/10/imperial-snowtroopers.jpg
