  1. Has anyone got a shot of said thighs? I think they were glued on as I'm sure I've seen a suit with the thigh box missing. It wouldn't fall off and leave no marks if it riveted on surely?
  2. Who's davin Felth lads? I know he was a sandtrooper but is he facebook member on here?
  3. Hair drier will do it fine Just don't rush it by pushing too hard I use the outside of a saucepan for my curve
  4. I have one on the left cheek Angled so the air circulates a little It's a big 4" fan Mind it doesn't blow into your eyes as they tend to go dry John
  5. I got my new GF lid yesterday Will try to create that low brow look with this little baby One of my favourite lids, the GF
  6. Looks like we'll have to have a whole new section then Si man derived armour, lol One things for sure, look what's happened to TE suits and the amount of folk making it now. Some legitimately, others by recasting said suits or by Matt selling a million copies of his moulds. It's only a matter of time before the Si Man kit is recast and offered somewhere at a cheaper price. (To say it won't is living in a dream world) When that happens, I guess people will switch over more readily. Si Man may even think it wiser to just sell copies of his moulds? Who knows. Most people won't truly know the difference between a TE suit and a Si Man suit for a while. It has a great selling point and I may be tempted but we'll see. I think most people on the look out for a good suit at the time, and who have taken the time to research will be more inclined. We may see a load of TE sales on here and ebay etc as some will want to swap Who knows. But I agree with the posts above. Lets wait to see what they do, how they do it, how quick they do it, how reliably they do it
  7. ESBs additions aren't that bad? More of Bespin and that's it really? Am I missing something?
  8. Lol, relax lads. I meant..... We can't base what's right or wrong on just one TK......hero or stunt Unless you want to replicate that particular chappy. In which ase, cool I'm doing Luke ATM and am trying to replicate his as best I can, so in that sense I'm being a hypocrite lol Do what you want dude, but like I said, the less lip you have, the less likely they are to crack as it allows the bell flex more. The lip, stiffens it all
  9. Kurtyboy from Scotland had DVD versions of the untouched OT films I bought a set off him years ago and they're ace [email protected]
  10. Having a good look at Luke and Han will help you decide whats wrong and right. You can't base it on one background stunt suit as they are just that, background stunts. A little return edge is fine mate.....plus it stops them cracking when flexed
  11. Yeah I know Brian Don't get me wrong, I have an SDS hero lid (had it in a cheap kit form years ago) I like my lid TBH (its not 100% accurate as such) and he certainly knows how to vac form. He's just full of #### which is a shame
  12. No problem Brian I understand what you're saying. My mistake as I thought he had plaster tools sent. I'm not in AAs side at all, I promise you! We in this geek world have several arguements over AA 1) his suits aren't original from moulds 2) his lids look like they're not either 3) his claims over making moulds from what Elsteee sent him I don't believe him on either of his claims TBH. So don't worry He's full of #*%# on ALL accounts I didn't know Elstree pulled several suits though. I thought just the one or two. The broomstick TK Interesting. So why ask AA to do more? Is it because Elstree's machine broke?
  13. Very true but......... Not many sell the kit already all glued up for you and ready to rock Not defending him, just saying. That said I'm sure his kits are overpriced too mind
  14. Hi Karin Right then.... I tried my lenses on one if Joes lids They look cool but ROTJ lids seem to have a curved top edge as opposed to ANHs flatter profile My lenses fit a ANH based lid very well So if youve cut your eye sockets yet, great I have some ready formed for you I'll be back home Friday night, so hassle me Saturday John
  15. Balls Vern. sorry mate, but thats wrong. The fire you mention was during production. AA then had to work his nuts off to complete the order. If the moulds were damaged, how could he then go on to complete the order for the film? Seriously, think a little more logically about the facts.
  16. Bollocks is correct But I type bollox to stop anti swear filters getting it
  17. Lads we can't gang up on Vern. As it's not cricket. Regardless of what he believes, AA has just posted a rather tasking question on FB for all us arm chair vac formers and mould makers He shows his lid buck. That wouldn't have come from a clay sculpt at all........ No it didn't. Not in a million years. However if you read the court case it is clear AA was sent plaster tools taken from the clay sculpts Were these tools 'suckable'....? AA says no LFL says yes. Elstree did pull a suit. But their machine was later broken and unable to produce another 49 suits AA was asked to help...... However...... I have read that even Elstree struggled to get the desired undercuts and I've never seen pictures of this prototype suit Is it the same one as the broomstick trooper? AA claims yes he was sent stuff but you couldn't make a suit from it. Especially a helmet. AA is a vac forming genius in my eyes. Very clever ways of getting around things that Elstree may not have had the experience to do. I do believe he tinkered with them yes But his suits today lack vital detail on his original pulls So Vern, where has that detail gone? I'm agreeing with you, he may very well have made useable TK moulds back in 76 based on those from Elstree But they are NOT the moulds/tools he's using today His argument is highly flawed On FB he asks how can I get a vac forming buck from a clay mould In most cases it's simple. Especially the way I do it. His lid tool was not derived from a clay mould directly no. But tilt it, cast it, add the undercut barriers and it's simple Elstree did it
  18. Sweetness in a lid form Nice work on the tube stripes too
  19. Vern I know what you are trying to say mate You're trying to say Elstree made moulds that weren't suitable for vac forming. Just moulds sent to AA 'apparently' this has been proved to also be 'bollax' They did pull a suit at Elstree but the machine broke down (which is why AA was then roped in) Apparently they sent AA plaster moulds to him with the clear intention of being used as vac form bucks I think this is also in the court case somewhere.....? I agree he may have altered them in order to pull better products But he clearly didnt 'create' them from scratch And even if he did.......... Why are his suits today different from a 76 ANH original?
  20. Board the train Love it
  21. @Vern Of course they used ABS glue mate I was being sarcastic I'm just pointing out that lots of people instally dismiss anything to do with AA due to reputation 'of course they used ABS glue' Is a quote that can be taken from my initall post. Of course they did. @Rolf Your ex sounds like a right bit(h
  22. @ Vern What fire are you referring to dude? The fire I'm aware of was during production. It delayed his progress that's all. I didn't realise there was another fire? If there was, I'm pretty sure a hardened mould would have lasted far longer than a 2x1m sheet of thin plastic...? Even if what AA is saying is true........ Where did the oval on the tears go Why are his parts a different length and width Why has some detail moved or is missing from his current day suits? There's no way what he makes now is the same as before and I used to defend him with vigour He has recasted someone else's current day suit As for Siman armour I do hope it's done properly and I maybe tempted myself One things for sure....... It will get recasted within a week I'm sure
  23. You mean trooper expert right? That's TE mate. Matt G on that facebook chat Trooper Master, TM is Paul on this forum
