MATT now pestering Andrew A on his FB page..
john danter replied to sixxgunn13's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Lol, who's having a breakdown? AA or Matt G? -
It's not on them all so I always thought it was maybe a clip bracket like you sometimes see on the scope when you fin it on it's elevation housing thingie Track could be a cool option yeah

Oh I forgot to add, and a 'glue' that wouldn't take a few minutes to set like ABS but rather one that would take 24hrs+ when they had 50 to make Something like E6000 maybe
-
No, they probably used something else cos they knew way back then AA was a lying scallywag So they used a solvent (cos the parts are 100% fused and melted, not in contact) that wasn't an MEK based solvent mixed with acetone cos that's what AA used. One that would stick ABS together, fuse it and leave a white residue, just like ABS glue does today but one that isn't ABS solvent glue? The pieces look fused to me, not contact bonded. Of course they used ABS glue

Its going to be cool whatever they do tbh I just wish they would rip it up and do it from the inside But that means wrecking a piece of movie history Could be out back together again I hope but they used acetone and ABS mix to fuse the limbs together. So we would wreck it if we did that Tough one Glad the lid is being done though Hope it's been done right. A 30yr old paper thin shell will be quite hard to replicate 100%

How would you create runny paint and such
john danter replied to LittleOne's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
I'd go for the superglue method 2 part superglue with the activator would be best....? Thats quite runny and a large volume in a tub If you drip too much it can be wiped off with a cloth (you'll be spraying the whole lid anyway) If you like your drip, fix it quickly with the activation spray -
I certainly believe it dude I have a degree in electronic design and this kind of thing is essential for a company to remain profitable and have a sales revenue. We were actually taught this methodology as a module! Diffusion of innovations NPD PLCM Look them up then feel sickened When the iPad 2 starts to dip, BANG, iPad3 will be upon us

My better half Becky has one for her uni work It's designed to 'consume' data rather than give you the ability to 'create' However, install pages etc on there and you can make documents etc Then with Dropbox or mobile me, those documents can be at home on your server before you get home That's cool Apple do drip feed their technology and I got sting with my iMac After 2 weeks they released a bigger screen with an SD card slot and extra USB ports I complained and got a refund to enable me to buy the new one I don't like the way apple deliberately hold back on tech in order for you buy the second edition bit I do like their products. Apple tv, iPad, iMac, iPhone, touch, iPod. They've done ok out of me Macrumors.com has a 'warning' window for the next possible edition releases of products Apple are quite predictable in terms of when something will be superseded and that website tells you when it's a good time to buy etc Apple have made tech fashionable, not essential

If I planned on making a fortune from it in making suits, I think I would You can screw it back together, I hope I see your point if it's riveted yes, that's a bit different. Making moulds from the outside saves your suit, but taking moulds from the inside makes it more accurate Depends what means more to you The suit or the accuracy of your product? -
Just a quick dental checkup.

I've got a few 3 bump hero ears left lying around if you want to go the full hog -

Go hero dude!! Much nicer looking TK How can people say some stunts had 3 teeth? Surely they mean a hero lid had flat lenses Depends where you draw the Borders of classification of each type. I'd make it a hero. It's not going to be too hard to change your mind and turn into a stunt after that is it? -

Well he must be very ignorant of vac forming process if he's to make moulds from the outside Anything he makes from that will be super soft and out in terms of end result size.......? What's the point? He'd have to sharpen them up. So then you have tampered moulds.....! I'm not sure what the inside of his suit looks like, but thats the best way to make moulds from this suit surely? I'm sure the insides cam be cleaned up to make good moulds That said, it'll be better than what we have now I guess. Just a shame they wont be doing it properly -

They haven't got a complete suit have they? -
ANH TK Stunt Teeth 8? 7 ok?
john danter replied to Fil5117's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I'm sure you can make the 8th yourself with a drill and file. You'd look odd with 7 -
Congrats dude

Elastic will give and allow you a bif of freedom if needed. Nylon webbing is rigid and doesn't flex at all. TBH I don't think there's much of a difference and thinking about it, a stretched band will produce more pull of you than a rigid webbing strap. I'd still go for elastic if you can as you can adjust things on your body as you see fit.

Being a competitive cyclist, I can say with knowledge and experience that doing too much exercise will wake you up at night, sadly. You're body becomes stressed, breaks down too many proteins in a bid to fix itself whilst you're at rest, your bladder fills up....you wake up wanting a pee. It's a clue we use to note when you're overtraining your body too much Agreed exercise is great, but too much is bad.

ditto that! Mark's nipples are ace! -
Originalstormtrooper? Andrew Ainsworth did make the suits back in the day, no denying that However his body suits are not original Helmet moulds?? Dunno 100% but due to the fact he lies about stuff I can't trust him or his reasons why the lids he makes are slightly different from 1976 Spend your money elsewhere mate

Nice what do they taste like?

Was there a other mould?
john danter replied to Turrican's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Like I mentioned Gary, it maybe there to help the plastic grip the mould..? It's in an odd place to help it do that TBH as I'd expect it more on the cap for instance? However the faceplate is more important than the backcap so maybe someone like Mr Muir or even AA may remember why it's there? John
