Oh, the LOTR one!!!!! Pmsl

That looks perfect! Thanks for this.

That all figures. Will have to give some thought as to if/how to apply any weathering then. Thanks [emoji106]

Almost a zombie thread... Came here looking for ref pics for weathering my se-14r, and strikes me that except for the glue marks from the missing extra scope it's always shown as a really clean blaster. Any opinions on this? 'Should' it be left clean for accuracy(?)

LEGOeatPokemon's TM Snowtrooper Build
CallMeMrTibbles replied to LEGOeatPokemon's topic in Other 501st Costumes
I have a rubber e11 for my esb tk which I bought from Sheartech in the UK, and I love it. Being rubber I am not nervous at all with passing it to kids (of all ages); I wouldn't say indestructible, but it's pretty close. https://www.facebook.com/sheartech/ Re e6000 plus, I'm not a fan. In the UK it's very difficult to get hold of the original e6000 that is so popular, so I can't give a direct comparison, but I've e6000 plus at the start of my tk build and very quickly switched to alternative. E6000 plus is (to me) not much more than a clear silicon sealant, and not an effective glue (OK for things that don't need strength, such as ab buttons). I used Gorilla Glue clear contact adhesive on my tk. It's very easy to find in the UK, cheap, strong, and still easy (with care) to remove/disassemble parts when needed. Hope that's helpful -
Hi Eric, Very few things more exciting than big brown box day!! Working slowly with pics and questions is the perfect way to go. Really looking forward to seeing your progress, helping where I can, and seeing the pics of the first troop in your new armour

Congratulations to all the award winners! ...and thank you to the staff for my promotion to IPM. I'm not sure what I've let myself in for yet, but I'll do my best to support the team and the detachment -
Tim’s first time build (RS Prop Masters ESB TK)

Given that its not going to be seen anyway, maybe either a larger rivet, or put a wide steel washer under the rivet(?) -
If you can be bothered to rewire your voltmeter, you could consider one of these.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Voltmeter-DIY-Mini-Digital-Timer-LED-Display-Car-Electric-Clock-Thermometer-/383581823026?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 (UK eBay but shipped direct from china) It's a voltmeter/thermometer/clock, and I mounted it in the front of my lid near the back of the hovi tips. I had to put some masking tape over the display otherwise it lit up my face so much you could see me through the lenses. It's utterly overkill, but very geeky and I love it [emoji1]

I wish I had the confidence and your ability. Would you consider delivering some in person training? -

Looks amazing Dan. Very impressive. Have you made any videos specifically about weathering? I've recently received my SE-14R from rdr, and it's amazing, but looks far too clean (If you consider in person workshops I'm keen and will bring snacks ) -
Hello Bundaberg, QLD Australia
CallMeMrTibbles replied to Direwolf's topic in New Member Introductions
Hi John, When looking at different suppliers of armour it's important to bear in mind your size and shape. If you're taller or bigger some armour will fit better than others. Best advice is to message or call the suppliers and discuss your dimensions to make sure you get something that will fit well (although all armour will need some trimming). All the best with it mate. Looking forward to seeing your progress -

Using a torch to find small cracks
CallMeMrTibbles posted a topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Found a new and useful technique by accident last night. Likely guys that have been costuming a while already know this, but figured it could be useful for newer troopers. I always check my kit after a troop to see if any repairs are needed. Discovered last night that shining a torch from behind your armour is great for highlighting cracks that you could otherwise not notice or are 'only just' starting to form. Here's my shoulder bridge with no back-light. You can just about see a crack forming. But with a torch behind its impossible to miss. Catching cracks early while they're still small could save a real headache during a troop.- 7 replies
