Haha, love the image at the top! My plan is to implement the same conversion in the future, and it looks like you have your task list ready to go. The only thing I'll add is that you may be able to get away with using the same holster and simply replace the tan straps with the black loops. I acquired black straps from my holster maker for the easy swap out with chicago screws. Looking forward to following your completion of this next project!

Two months late to this super fun E-11 party. Is it even necessary to say "excellent work" when describing Joseph's posts such as these, or can we all just come to an agreement that such accolades are assumed? I've now added this to the E-11 section of my resources compilation!

As Glen said, blaster makers have come and gone, and the Weapons Locker forum is the best place to keep an eye out, but below is a list of E-11 options from 2021. I'll add, too, that Hellhounds has been reviving their business with updated rubber blaster features, and we're expecting products to roll out this Q2 of 2022. I'm certain you acquired many skills while building your clone that will serve you well on your TK, so some of this may be unnecessary for you, but here is a link to a TK building resource thread that I compiled. I tried to pool together as much helpful information as possible, but research is still key, as always in this hobby. I look forward to following along with your build progress!

Glen - Was there an additional how-to thread that showed a different belt-bending process other than this post linked below (which depicts the process you described)? If there is another method out there that could use revival and redocumentation, I'd be happy to implement and photograph it with my build. Otherwise I had saved this post and planned to utilize the same technique.

LOVE seeing this progress! It seems we are increasingly seeing builders wanting to get approved in printed armor, and thus far the OT asymmetry has simply never been sufficiently replicated. You seem to be making good headway on your prints for buck creation, so maybe someday there will eventually be an OT TK approved with 3D-printed armor. Shhh, don't tell the old guard.

Enjoyed the Gundam trooper post from the UK yesterday, but I'll admit that I was on the lookout all day for something foolish officially from the Detachment. I'll be on the lookout again next year, Command.

Welcome back, Chris! I too, took about a year off until the past month or so, but even now am have still not completed my helmet. If, somewhere down the road, you find that you have no need for your second set of ATA ears, I'd certainly take them off your hands. =) As for your question about the ab or kidney piece, I'll defer to the thoughts of experienced troopers, but I can't help but wonder if your need to trim might give you an opportunity to implement the kidney notch. Off the top of my head I can't recall if the ATA posterior and kidney pieces already come identically sized with alignment at both ends. Looking forward to your continued progress on your build! It's been a pleasure to follow along, and even just today I reread the back half of your postings thus far.

Thanks so much for those figures, Mario! Those seem to be right in the ballpark of where my pre-built WTF and in-progress ATA are. Once I finish the ear installation I'll make final trimming adjustments to the neck opening.

The biggest issue right now is the increased price of ABS due to more limited supply and perhaps higher production costs. Some armor makers aren’t even producing due to supply or expense challenges. Up until now perhaps the most well known “budget” kits have come from ATA and MTK (Trooperbay). However, ATA is currently unavailable and Mark with MTK is on a production hold. In Europe I believe DA Props tends to be on the lower price range. When I last checked I believe the MonCal (Far Away Creations) had kits in the US for not a lot more than those aforementioned. Best thing would be to check out that vetted list that Glen linked to, and reach out to some makers to see what they have available and at what price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Very cool transformation at a low cost with minimal tool! GREAT work! I have a couple Rubies E-11s that I'd like to do similar conversions to in the future.

OP (MV) Post #50: Quick Ear Update Just a quick update to say I've spent the last several weeks very slowly working on the ear and neck opening sections of the face plate and cap pieces of my bucket, as well as ear trimming. I decided to use one set of my ATA ears as a draft of softs, to help me hone in on final installation of the second set that came with my kit. We'll see how that goes; hopefully I don't have to source spare ears from previous ATA builders. Haha. I'm hoping to have a final helmet update several weeks from now. Talk about a snail's pace... Some residual questions from my previous post, in case anybody has any insight. Any tips on an appropriate white spray to match the very cool white of ATA armor (I believe similar to WTF and AP)? It seems both Testors 1145 and the Humbrol gloss white are both somewhat off-white. Would a polish drum for my Dremmel be the best solution to buff out scratches on my helmet lenses? Is Novus 1 and 2 the best buffing products to use on lenses? Would it be better to simply source some replacement lens material and cut new ones? Can any of you share measurements of how deep and wide your neck openings are, and what your recommendations would be for sizing? I'd hate to cut it too small then have to widen it up down the road and then have an insufficient length of S-trim. Are there minimum and maximum recommended opening sizes?
