  1. Congrats dude! If I lived in SoCal no doubt I'd have been on our in-progress Armorer list.
  2. Brilliant! I see you opted for the wipes container cylinder that Ardeshir used on his Kenobi pack! Before long I'm going to revive my own HWT build thread. Have fun painting all the treads on those ammo packs; took me sooo long with a fine-tipped sharpie. Or G2 pen; I don't remember what I used anymore.
  3. Great looking suit, Will! Just a few of my observations, though I’ll let the DOs speak to what they’ll be expecting to see. Forgive the formatting, but I’m writing this from my phone. - Love the coverage of your armor; you have very little undershot showing! Belt height relative to the lowest ab button is excellent. Your ab and kidney has an great minimal connection. And no visible seam at the bottom on the raised ridge of your left thigh piece!! - Looks like you may want to check your backplate and kidney alignment, as your back plate sometimes drops down in front of the kidney. - Optimally, the end of your canvas belt should be hidden behind your thermal detonator. - Some of your arm cover strips extend a little beyond the ends of the armor return edges. They may need to be trimmed down a bit. - The Han snap may be positioned a little too far back and close to the kidney. I’m not sure what the thresholds might be. - Either the strapping or v-tabs between your kidney and posterior piece are colored white, but shouldn’t be visible against your black undersuit. You could either replace with black, or paint them black. - The DOs might request a photo of your torso interior strapping. - I’ve seen on some AM builds that the flat angled portion at the end of the posterior (where you currently have your two snaps) is actually trimmed off. I’m not sure if this is always done. - On your ab plates, particular the large one, to best match screen references, the edges of then cover piece should be trimmed to fall within the threshold of the molded potion on the ab piece, Esther than hang a bit past/over the edge. - Love seeing inner cover strips on the arms!!! - The decals that Dave provides have a black outline that is a tad wide. Not sure if this is impacting up for approval. - Your shoulder bridges are a bit wide, and could do with a little trimming on the edges to bring them in closer to the ribbed pieces. You might be able to trim a bit more off the rear ends of them too. - Great job forming a bend into your abs belt!! - On your thermal detonator, your end caps look a bit wider than the recommended approximately 20mm. The control panel also initially looks a bit wide, since the ends of it extend past the screws in your clips, but if you narrow your caps a bit, and push your clips out wider to keep them flush with the caps, the screws might then align with the edges of the control panel. - Great job on your helmet! Perhaps your right ear (as the wearer) could be angled a bit more to align the ear screws with the rear edges of the trap decal above. Sorry I haven’t been able to provide any photos of when I described; I’m sure others will be around to provide you with more information and references! Once a great, fantastic work with your build! You got this!!
  4. If any of our RO troopers adopt these meshed vents they could put fans right up against them!
  5. Someday, if I ever become a master craftsman like you, Colin, I’d love to give this a shot on my BS bucket. Excellent work here, and documentation!
  6. It seems Terrell essentially stuck with the imperial system of measurement that is standard in the US, as opposed to the more global metric system. Personally I went with the 15mm, 20mm, and 25mm widths for mine, though actually cut them 1mm wider to account for any necessary sanding. Either way, as Glen said, and the reference suits photos show, the actual screen-used suits had varying widths.
  7. Also I’m curious how you handled the ATA kidney-to-ab height difference, particularly on the left side. Did you cut a notch? I couldn’t tell in your photos since your arms were lowered.
  8. Wow that’s some very impressive undersuit coverage for ATA shoulder bells! Well done. And it sounds like you’re already on top of the shoulder gap uniformity.
  9. Hello there, Brian, and welcome to the forum! It's great to hear you're diving into the boards, and finding these resources helpful. If I might ask, do you know what type of TK you're leaning towards building?
  10. I hope nobody minds me reviving this thread (though I suppose it's always good to remind builders about illegitimate products), but Joseph, your two-year old comment just made my day. The fact that you talked with a company chemist and package designer, and that they're aware of this community's use of E-6000.
  11. Very cool mod to your shoulder elastic! Did you actually use velcro, or is it actually just a piece of nylon strapping? Either way, basically it's simply providing structure, correct? But the rest of the white elastic still maintains some flex. When I first started reading I thought you were going to employ something similar to the metal pieces that ROTK and Shoretroopers use in their shoulder connections. Additionally, that's an insane amount of snaps in your bells; definitely a record of some sort. So you have your snaps and I have my thermal detonators. (By the way, did you get your 68mm TD yet?)
  12. Stumbled upon this, and as both a SW and LotR fan, I gotta say, impressive. Most impressive.
  13. Haha. Adding this thread to the E-11 section of the resource compilation for kicks and giggles.
  14. Our Nashville (Tennessee) and Atlanta (Georgia) symphonies tend to do these film screenings with live music once a year, and generally have about five Legion members in costume. Many Major League Baseball teams here in the US (and perhaps those in Canada) also usually have a Star Wars night every season. I believe some hockey (NHL) teams also do the same.
  15. Glad to see you're still at it, Martin! Let us know if you ever have any specific questions. If you'd like initial feedback prior to submitting to your GML for basic approval, feel free to post up in the pre-approval section here on the forum, linked below. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/191-tk-pre-approvals/
  16. I don't personally have a full AM suit, but I know that it is a reputable one. However, there are also other great vendors too, which can be found on the post below. Some armors fit various body types better than others, but you should really be perfectly fine with any at your height and weight, which are basically the same as mine. I would definitely recommend getting your helmet and armor from the same vendor, and preferably from the same armor run to ensure the white plastic is color matched. That's not to say that you can't mix and match, but uniformity is best achieved when sticking with the same maker. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/
  17. Welcome to the home of shiny white armor, Matt! AM armor is certainly well suited for L3 approval, and below I've linked to several of my favorite AM build threads. I even formatted AJ/s into a PDF file for ease of access on tablets or print, and this first thread below is actually a "master" compilation of resources that I've found helpful on my own 501st journey. Towards the bottom of the thread are additional links to AM build threads and EI and Centurion approval requests. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/40831-ajs-of-am-20-build/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31920-ukswraths-am-10-build/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/49991-oddvikings-anh-stunt-build-am-45-centurion/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/44658-ltms-am-tk-anh-build/ p.s. Dave makes my personal favorite version of the various thermal detonators out there, and it includes one of the few accurately-sized (to screen-used) tubes available in the US, which is also an appropriate color that likely doesn't need to be painted.
  18. I'd love to see footage of this come October! Too bad we don't have TKs playing paintball (though they may finish fully white anyway).
  19. Glad to see you back at it, Jason! Just a quick note since some HWT standards have changed since 2018/2019... I think you'll need to remove the antenna from your pack for approval, as the CRL currently states "No video monitors, extra greeblies. lights of any sort or attachments not seen in photos can be visible."
  20. I wonder if you might be able to hand-paint some sort of clear coat, or maybe even something like a CA glue onto the fraying portion tips to help firm them up and stop the continual fraying. Maybe even a white acrylic paint would work if you can find a color to match your canvas belt. I'm sure others may have ideas too, perhaps including stating that the screen-used belts had fraying and therefore you're simply getting more accurate.
  21. Such a beaut. I’m not sure I’d be able to disassemble for electronics. Next time you’re at a con you need to get a close up while re-enacting that Princess escort shot. Flanking TKs with the previously leveled Leia shoulder in the foreground.
  22. Reviving this old post again like Justin did in January to get a ruling for L3 purposes. @Deployment Officer Team would you guys simply mention the straight cuts on a Centurion app, or would it actually hold up approval? In reading this thread, and especially in light of the lined photos by past DOs that Glen posted above, I was thinking that angled cuts would be fine for L3. However, the more recent (May) discussion on Luca's ESB conversion leads me to believe that the brow trim would need to be cut straight vertically. Then again, it wasn't mentioned on his EI app with notes for Centurion. Asking for a friend. A friend that hopes to submit this Fall. Who actually already replaced his angled trim with straight-cut trim, rendering this a possibly moot question anyway.
  23. MTK (Mike's TK) is made by the guy that operates Trooperbay.com, which is where many of us get decals from. Word of advice, if you opt for flexible hand guards, get them from Justjoseph63 on here instead of Trooperbay. Basically everything that Joseph sells is better than most, if not all, alternatives found elsewhere. The first two links before are information on MTK armor, and then following are several example build threads. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/41975-mtk/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/37419-mtk-armour-questions/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38066-cptcaseys-anh-stunt-build-thread-mtk/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26449-mtk-build-anh-stunt/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/42496-devolvers-mtk-anh-stunthwt-build/
  24. Technically speaking MTK was around $50 less than DA after shipping last month (not sure if his sales offer is still active), but I also don't know if Andy (DA) has direct pricing that's different than his Etsy page. Not trying to sway you that way, necessarily though. =) Just sharing information! Find an armor that you like and will be happy with, and GO FOR IT! And once you have BBB (Big Brown Box) Day, start a build thread, post lots of photos, and ask tons of questions!
