  1. Doing some forearm trimming on a rainy Sunday. Next step is to get them sized and then move on to the biceps. Sent from my SM-N981U1 using Tapatalk
  2. @TKModder421 pm sent. Sent from my SM-N981U1 using Tapatalk
  3. So I started to watch the 850 AW build videos to get an idea of how different this build will be from an OTTK and I discovered that I'm missing some pieces. First off, I'm missing the TD mounting block (cheers to @gmrhodes13 for providing me a few 3d printed options to try). And secondly, I seem to be missing the 37" ABS strip for the belt. So it is time to source a few parts. I'm hoping to at least start building arms and legs this weekend as they seem pretty much the same accept the build video showed it done as overlapping joints instead of butt joints. So I'll need to check some other build threads and the Crl to verify some build techniques. Sent from my SM-N981U1 using Tapatalk
  4. Add me to the list. This build is not for me, but my wife, be she isn't on the forum, so here is my info Forum ID: jsilvius TK ID# 12953 Date Started: 4/14/2024 Date approved: WIP Location: Virginia Variant: TK 501st Approved: Not Yet EIB: not yet Centurion: not yet Armor brand: 850 AW Helmet brand: Nico's 3D Print WIP Thread:
  5. Well, here we go. Looks like it is all here. There are a couple of pieces that I don't have a clue what they are, so I'm hoping that some of the build threads will be able to help me figure it out. But the first step is lots of flashing removal. Sent from my SM-N981U1 using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks Mike! I'll take a look at your thread, I need some inspiration. I've got most of Nico's helmet printed as well. Sent from my SM-N981U1 using Tapatalk
  7. We figure we will have to cut the ab down some for this as well, so we'll fit it to her sitting and when adjust as needed for when she stands for pictures. We are excited to see how this goes. Sent from my SM-N981U1 using Tapatalk
  8. Greeting all! I'm about to start down this road. I was gifted a 850 armor works R1TK, minus the helmet. My son and I are planning to build it for my Wife (DS-32076), she currently only has a Mara Jade that she wears, but she is jealous of al the attention that Jarod and I get, so she wants to be a TK too! With her disabilities, our local Garrison Armor and GML both suggested the R1 style might be better for her as it maybe a bit easier to customize for her conditions. We plan to build it standard, but we will be setting it to have the cod and butt plate be strapped for easy removal as she often has to use a powerchair for larger events and needs a walker otherwise. We may need to cut the thighs and shins for easier sitting, and we'll see what other changes we need to make post build. This will be the build thread. Let's see how it goes.
  9. No offense, but yikes.... The more you know, I guess.....

I was so into my new build, trying to get it done before our last big event, now I'm eh, I'll get to it eventually. Guess that's the problem with having a working kit already. Sent from my SM-N981U1 using Tapatalk
  11. Congratulations! I've been doing this for 4 years now and it is just as exciting as day 1! Good luck with your event! Can't wait to see pictures!
  12. You've taken your first step into a larger world! Welcome to FISD. I can tell you as a non-handyman, you've already got one up on me and I do okay. Shooting for Centurion off the bat is a great way to start. It can be tough, but rewarding. As @gmrhodes13 has already pointed out, there are lots of resources and friendly faces around to help. So hope on in, take a look at some build resources, look at some of the build threads (you can check my two out in the links below my signature), and jump in with both feet. We'll be here to assist with any questions you might have! Best of luck and we look forward to seeing your build page!
  13. Just wait for @MaskedVengeance to verify.

  15. I'm really excited about seeing how this comes out. That wrap on the glove looks like something you could create with a 2nd set of the gloves and just cut the patter out and sew it on. I think I read you have someone making you the kama, so they might be able to do that as well. Unfortunately anyone that has access to these files would be breaking their agreement with GA if they shared them, so not sure you will get a response in public forum about sharing paid for files. My guess is that Aaron only sells them as a set. The whole set is on sale for $30 currently. https://galacticarmory.net/collections/armor-3d-files/products/captain-enoch-armor-3d-print-files If you alright bought the helmet, you might ask him if you can upgrade to the full set and pay the difference. I've seen some vendors allow that.
  16. Okay @gmrhodes13 and @Doggydoc, how do these look? Sent from my SM-N981U1 using Tapatalk
  17. Thank you both. I'll work on cutting those down. Sent from my SM-N981U1 using Tapatalk
  18. While I await the arrival of the new earcaps, I decided I would work on my belts. Yes, I said belts. My goal is to have an EI ANH Stunt and an ESB. So swap out helmet, belt, hand guards... two kits. I followed Tony's guild and cut the 45s and I'm looking at punching holes. Just curious about the belt squares. I'm not sure if I need to cut this down (thickness) or is the little depth okay. Sent from my SM-N981U1 using Tapatalk
  19. Congratulation Chris. I'm sure you will do an amazing job, and having @Sly11 as XO will only make things easier for you. I look forward to working with you this term.
  20. We'll I think I ruined my helmet. I've built a few ATAs and one MTK, but the AM is just a bit different and doesn't line up as I thought it should. So I added a 2nd rivet to try and pull the tubes in line and when I went to add the ears, they showed. The ears were another story. one side lined up great. the other has a gap on the back so bad I could put my pink finger under it. So we did some trimming, some sanding, some filing and it just kept getting worst. So after drilling out the 2nd rivet and making the ABS Slurry, to try and fill holes, I'm stuck with ear that don't work and the spares that I have are all for ATA helmets so they are a bit short. Well Triple D himself saw my post and offered to help me out. So if you ever question the AM (DDD) armor, don't. Dave has great customer service and wants to help you. I'm so happy that I've had Terrel (RIP) and Dave as my armor providers. Both have been amazing to work with. So while I wait on replacement ears (and a 2nd helmet). I will start working on my kidney to ab shims. Then once that is done, I can start strapping. Fingers crossed I'll have enough time this week to get the kit done before our first big Con of the year in our area.
  21. There will be a run sometime this year. They will only be available for full FISD members, so you need to have an approved TK costume and have one of these icons under your name on your profile. If you don't have one of these, and you have an approved TK, then you need to ask for Full Detachment access.
  22. Advance to 1500! Great job @TheRascalKing Sent from my SM-N981U1 using Tapatalk
  23. Okay, last pictures for the night. Both biceps are together. I've added a cover strip to one side and I started adding cover strips to the forearms as well. So need to shape up the shoulder bells. Then I'll start work on the ab/kidney sections. We have two armor parties next week, so hopefully I'll have a bit of help to finish my helmet. I'm so close. 24. Get on it Terry. Come join me as I help Advance to 1500! It is a lot easier to do it on this kit after I've built a few others. I feel like I know that I'm doing, but I keep asking questions of the DOs and other EI recipients because I want to make sure it is all good from the get go. A lot easier to ask now before I start gluing... LOL
