TheSweatshop's 3D Printed Rogue One TK Stormtrooper
jsilvius replied to TheSweatshop's topic in Rogue One Build Threads
Tell me more about this IKEA enclosure? I've been looking for something for my printers as I'd love to try ABS or ASA. Best I can do is PETG currently and that is if my bed heater is feeling cooperative. -

TK-12953 - A Dave's Darkside Depot EIB AHN Stunt build

Okay, after some time off working on other projects, I'm back on working on building my DDD's AM 5.0 to at least EI. So I'm at the point i need some feedback. I need shims between the kidney and Ab plates. I measured the distance between the two and cut some shims, matched them up to the kidney and glued in some back strips. So am I on the right path? secondly, I don't remember which bicep is the left/right and which forearm is left right. My ATA kit had the thumb print on both biceps, and I though the forearm with the more curve was the right one. Pictures below. Ab/Kidney shims. Biceps/forearms. -

I'm only chasing EI, but I'll look at making the adjustments, just in case. -
R1TK build by TK-12953 for DS-32076 850 Armorworks

That is how the successful one printed. The next three failed. Thus the quest to find a better print orientation. I may have to go back to straight up and just slow it down and see if that works. Sent from my SM-N981U1 using Tapatalk -

Epoxy set and it seems pretty secure. My thanks to @TheRascalKing, I shall soon have the smaller resin parts. I threw the one ear that I got to print on it just to see how it would look (I have attempted to print the ears 12 times in different orientations and only one was successful, so Boo FDM printing) Still needs more sanding and paint, but we are getting there. I use the score and snap method, which is trace the line you want to cut multiple times with a razor knife, the bend and snap it off. I also use a pair of curved lexan scissors. I picked them up on Amazon, but you can get them at most hobby stores. I hesitate using the dremel as it is easy to take plastic away, but much harder to add it back, plus the speed of the dremel produces heat and will some times melt plastic instead of cutting it. But YMMV.

It is certainly a curious idea. I'm intrigued. And would 2nd Glen's comment. Maybe try making one if the smaller pieces as a test and see what it looks like. Maybe hand guards or the cod pieces. Looking forward to what you come up with. Sent from my SM-N981U1 using Tapatalk

R1TK build by TK-12953 for DS-32076 850 Armorworks

not a lot of progress as the wife has not been feeling the best and when she was we got her suited up in her Mara Jade and trooped. But I put epoxy on the helmet I printed and I'm going to work on it until the resin commission gets here. If it works for her, great, I'll keep the resin one for my kit (when ever Walt finishes it), if not we'll swap. -
As I'm building an 850 Armor works kit currently, I'm running in to some issues with other part. So I figured I would share some help and ask some questions. I saw someone was asking about lenses for their helmet. I didn't see them on the resources list, so I figured I would share them here. Mr. Paul sells lenses for the Desert Fox (Nico Henderson) helmet. You can find more info on Mr Paul's Shoretrooper Build page on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/totalgrunt I just commissioned a resin printing of this helmet for myself as my FDM versions were not looking great and I've order a pair of lenses from him. I'm seeking the difference in the neck seal. The CRL shows a picture of the TK_ANH_stunt one. https://databank.501st.com/databank/File:TK_anh_stunt_neckseal.jpeg I Thought the R1TK one was different. I saw a post on here with a version that has ribbing on the part that lays on the chest as well.

Can someone update this to Keep Trooping as IB is no longer a thing?

Congrats Eric! I'm so happy to see it is complete! I'm glad you had a good first troop! I answered your DM. Congrats again Trooper! It looks amazing. Be sure to check out the Expert Infantry Program. We are always looking to grow the EI ranks! https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/95-expert-infantry-program/ James -
Hey Jeff. I use a two-piece compression suit I got off Amazon. It is like Under Armor just a different brand. Shirt https://a.co/d/glupjPh Pants https://a.co/d/9nJcHGv I also have a pair of smooth long underwear for troops in colder months. Sent from my SM-N981U1 using Tapatalk

After multiple attempts to print, build and finish the helmet myself on my CR-10 and Elegloo Neptune 3, I've commissioned a resin version from a recommendation made by @TheRascalKing, so we'll see how that turns out. I'm looking to order soft goods still. I've reached out to @Soulart with Geeky Pink's Phantastic Gaskets as Teresa aways does amazing work. So I be working with her for at least the under suit. I did just buy a "new to me" Elegloo Saturn 4k, so I'm looking forward to being able to print some smaller parts in resin once I figure out how the resin printer works vs my FDM printers. -

Can't wait to see how it goes. I'm currently building an 850 Armorworks kit for my wife. It is a bit different than my OTTK, but so far it is going well. We still need to source the soft goods, so I'll take a peak at what you have there. -
That is an amazing find! Congrats. I'm not familiar with the different makers marks or tells, but maybe one of the Deployment Officers will know.

Yep you found it. Greg did some amazing updates, and I can't wait to get these printed, and see how it compares to what I have. The alignment pegs alone will be worth the extra print time IMHO. -

started to work on the helmet some. I'm not happy with how it printed, so I reached out to @TKModder421 to see about getting his modified files for the Nico R1TK helmet. He sent them on to me, so I'll start printing those today. I've sent some of the smaller bits (ears, ear caps, traps and tears) to one of my friend for resin printing. I hope that they will turn out as well as Greg's pictures did on his post. Here is what I was working, with. I'll hold on to it to practice finishing work on. -
Hey @TKModder421, I resent the DM and shot you an email on your FISD listed email address.

hmmm... I'll resend it.

Forearms and biceps rough trimmed and taped so we can size, then glue. Sent from my SM-N981U1 using Tapatalk
