  1. You could ask to your GML before or you can also make the change once approved .
  2. This is what the Legion Site says Who publishes New CRLS? The Legion Membership Officer (LMO). The LMO has the final say on what goes into a published CRL. You can read the complete text here https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRLGuide
  3. Hi, perhaps this one works for you. I'll keep looking for more info.
  4. Hi David, The crl don't specifies the mobility cut For basic level but for Centurion Level CRL L3: Any mobility cuts on back of piece do not go past raised ridges. It would be like bellow
  5. There's no stupid questions brother, just questions. The CRL is clear in the Sniper Knee request and for reference images we use what we have in the gallery section where you can see the sniper knee is present, damaged, but present. The BASIC level Is all up to your GML to approve with or without the sniper knee, buy for higher levels we have to check according to the crl and official references .
  6. Hi Dan, this is an interesting question . As you noted , the crl is specific in the rear tab of the shoulder bridges and isn't for the front one but, to my understanding , if the rear tab is optional, is implicit that the front one isn't . The crl aditionally states : Text descriptions are only one part of the guideline. GMLs and costumers must consider both text and pictures (CRL and Reference) when reviewing the costume. We have a lot of reference images that clearly shows a large tab in the front and most of the time none in the rear. At the end of the day is completely up to you the Basic Approval, for higher levels EIB and Centurion this would be a blocker and the applicant would need to change the piece.
  7. Most are ANH, If you go for ESB taka a read to the CRL for each one to consider the differences between them . https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_stunt https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_esb
  8. Welcome to FISD Seth . Overall looking good. It would be great if you can post some photos with the complete suit up (black suits included), so we can see the final fit. Keep it up.
  9. Hi Tristan. What a great looking helmet and E11 blaster they look awesome. In a quick view , what I can see that will be a block for higher levels : 1- E11 Blaster: Even though it look great , there are some small details that we didn't see on screen and you will need to address : Ammo Counter CRL for L3- The blaster may have minor weathering or base metal exposure however, T-tracks and grips shall be of a black plastic appearance with no silver/metallic weathering allowed. Although in some counters the brass could be seen, in this one it does not look like weathering, (it is a perfect square). You may be able to paint it black and then rub a little before it dries completely, and thus give it the " weathered " look. Also it would be located forward as the reference images. References 2- Helmet : As EIB and Centurion are an add on to the Legion standards, it has to be Basic approvable. Those scuffed marks looks great from a prop replication point, but aren't for what was intended and not what we saw on screen when things are moving, and thus not allowed on a Legion approvable costume. You may want to check the EIB and Centurion application Threads and see what we look for. Rerefences I would also suggest to trim a little more the extra material in the Left Eye References This was a quick check and more details would be pointed in a EIB and Centurion Review. keep it up
  10. @MaskedVengeance Caleb, this could a good addition to your All in One
  11. Congratulations Trooper !!! Welcome aboard
  12. Coming alone nicely Tim. In a quick check, additional to what Glen pointed, you may want to rise up your AB belt to sit at or just above the bottom of the central and vertical abdomen button panels. The Ab rivets must be painted in white color. And about your own observations: 1. I think I need to shorten the elastic between the shoulders and the biceps a little so the biceps sit a bit higher. YES2. I think I’ve pulled the shoulder bells to the front too much YES4. At the moment, there is no padding in my helmet so that’s as low as it will sit. Conscious it’s a bit bobble head but not sure how I can get the helmet any lower (short of removing vertebrae in my neck haha) NO PROBLEM
  13. Nomex is the way to go. https://www.amazon.com/ONETAC-OUTDOOR-Screen-Tactical-Resistant/dp/B06ZZYCBNW/ref=sr_1_28?crid=263GL0EHLQB50&keywords=nomex%2Bgloves&qid=1693315349&sprefix=nomex%2Bglove%2Caps%2C167&sr=8-28&th=1
  14. Great to read you had a great time !. The first trooping let you see how the armor behaves and make the necessary adjustments . Congrats and looking forward for your advances. Keep it up.
  15. Hi Christian , and thank you for your EIB application! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry. Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor, and please keep in mind that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. Starting from top. We suggest a little more trimming to the upper section of the eyes to keep the menacing sight of the Stromtrooper all people loves Reference Images This is an easy fix with a screw driver just to twist a bit the ear screws on both sides to get them more flush. Reference Images This is something we suggest only for trooping reasons , not for screen accuracy. Most troopers add some sort of black cloth or mesh behind the helmet teeth in order to prevent people at troops from seeing our faces as stated in the CRL . This is a suggestion to preserve that movie magic everybody loves. Reference Images The posterior (butt) plate is over-riding the bottom of the kidney. I would highly suggest using the V-tabs method (shown below) to correct this. It really does work !. Reference Images V Tabs Method A suggested and practical solution is to add a couple of "V tabs" made from ABS .With a heat gun you bend strips of ABS plastic into the shape of a V, only glue one side and the other remains free to allow movement when you bend. Just helps stop the butt plate from pushing back from the back plate. For more accuracy, we suggest to move a little the location of the rivets of your Snipper knee . Reference Images Centurion Requirements: In this section we prepare you for our highest tier of approval. Because Centurion photos must show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Level 3 might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we are able to clearly see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. CRL L3: There should be a minimal gap between the shoulder armor and the chest/back plates. This looks like a simple strapping issue. Shortening a little more the shoulder strap and reduce the gap. Another trick here is to remove the Shoulder Bell's return edge to allow them to sit close the chest armor. Reference Images CRL L3: The plastic shoulder straps need to be held down in the back via a white elastic band to the white fabric that connects/bridges the chest and back piece. Your shoulder straps are misaligned, and ideally they should sit within the boundaries of the back tabs and be held down by the white elastic. Reference Images CRL L3: Ideally there no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor. Abdominal and Kidney Plate align horizontally at top. A single visible seam line is present. You did a great job adding the shims to your kidney armor , now it's just and additional step to make the seam lines invisibles by adding some ABS paste and sand and polish them . Reference Images And that's all Trooper, Welcome to EIB and we are confident that you will do the required fixes to go the next step to Centurion !
  16. What I would do is shorten the elastic a little more ti allow the bell to be closer to the shoulder and be sure to push them to the shoulder every time I suit up.
  17. Hi Tim The Sniper knee looks ok the dint is almost not noticeable , What I just would suggest to trim the edges a little to match the Shin line About the canvas belt take a look to the bottom section of the building thread bellow link and check the videos Second one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnJc9t4KQlo
  18. Nice and interesting read. It's the first time I see this. Thank you for sharing.
