  1. Hi Alex!! Great to see your Centurion App that fast. I'll be with you asap.
  2. As Glen pointed, rivets are closer to the corners than the references . It's too important to make a doble check with references prior to glue or affix pieces and I would recommend to check approved Eib and Centurion apllications to see the requested fixes and mods. Keep it up.
  3. In my case I have always started with the torso section Chest, Back, kidney, Butt plate
  4. One additional fix could be : 1- Alignning the two halves 2- Install de cover strip 3- At the end of the build when suiting up, consider if a mobility cut is necessary (this can be made instead of the adding the plastic piece behind and filling with ABS paste. Mobility cut CRL : L3 Any mobility cuts on the back do not extend beyond the top of the raised ridge. References
  5. You should align the botton section, back it up with an ABS piece and apply some ABS paste and sand to smooth.
  6. Looking good, side and back photos would be great.
  7. Welcome to FISD Kyra. looking forward for your advances !
  8. CRL L3: Cut-out notches at the bottom of right and left sides of the Kidney Armor are optional. Hi, Every armor maker has some details that make easy or difficult to achieve de more accuracy, I would suggest to add the shims with no cut-out notches As you can see, the cut out is Optional . You can ,(we hope you will do) apply for EIB and Centurion with out it.
  9. @makerM13 As Glen rightly pointed, This is highly recommended when building the helmet from the beginning as you're doing. keep it up! .
  10. Hi Alex , and thank you for your EIB application! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry. Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor, and please keep in mind that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. Starting from top, as the crl states, Ideally, placement of ears (and screws) should closely follow the rear angle of the trap above them . This is suggested for more accuracy if it's possible for you top make it without damaging the helmet. Reference Images Fall of tube stripe tops ideally lean toward the front. This is a common detail we see in the reviews that we suggest the change for more accuracy. Reference Images Looking closely to your ab/kidney connection front view, there's a noticeable a gap that perhaps could be fixed with a strapping adjustment. Reference Images This one looks like a dressing issue. Next time you put on your Thermal Det. be sure that someone place it a little down matching the canvas belt. Reference Images *************************************************** Centurion Requirements: In this section we prepare you for our highest tier of approval. Because Centurion photos must show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Level 3 might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we are able to clearly see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. CRL L3: There should be a minimal gap between the shoulder armor and the chest/back plates. shortening the shoulder strap and a bit could reduce the gap. Another trick here is to remove the Shoulder Bell's return edge to allow them to sit close the chest armor. Reference Images CRL L3: The plastic shoulder straps need to be held down in the back via a white elastic band to the white fabric that connects/bridges the chest and back piece. Your shoulder straps are slightly raised. This can be corrected by adding the white elastic required. Reference Images CRL L3: Ideally there no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor. Abdominal and Kidney Plate align horizontally at top You have almost no gap between AB and kidney but in order to get them aligned on top there's a little return edge that you will need to trim or fold over with a hot water bath or very carefully with a heat gun. Reference Images It could be my eyes but it looks like your small Ab buttons panel has a little return edge around. A little trimming would be necessary to make it flat and smaller so the ab raised ridge can be seeing Reference Images CRL L3: Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box. Yours are just a bit too far in. Most Troopers use to add a bit of glue to the drop box elastic to keep them in place Reference Images CRL L3 : Lower thigh ridge joins (front and rear) shall butt-up flush against each other. Any gaps must be backed with ABS or filled as not to be noticeable. A commonly suggested solution is gluing a small piece of ABS plastic behind and filling the front with ABS paste. Reference Images That's all Trooper, congratulations!!!!! Just a few fixes and you'll be ready for the next level, CENTURION. We are confident that we'll see your L3 application soon.
  11. Regarding the lower ear section, checking others WTF armor builds and EIB and Centurion submissions it looks like this armorer in particular has this detail in the ears armor. Looking to the back view of this helmet and compared to reference , the ears looks ok But if we see the front view, the WTF ear mold is thicker. This is not a issue in any level, and it could be just a suggestion to leave a little gap to make the ear looks thiner. Keep it up
  12. Congratulations Trooper !! Great looking armor by the way. Perhaps you may want to consider to apply for our higher levels
  13. This could be a good option since the bubble lenses can be either green or smoke to any level. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1354624918/dark-smoke-grey-or-green-or-red-bubble?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=stormtrooper+helmet+lenses&ref=sr_gallery-1-8&edd=1&organic_search_click=1
  14. Regarding the sniper knee position, Every armor maker has their sculpture details that needs to be considered when building . In this case the RS sniper knee typically doesn't has a perfect alignment with the ridges , so what we could suggest to ge it close to the ideal position is like the bellow image. Try to align the Sniper Knee with the shin ridges the more you can and trim a little over the ridge. Or a small gap in the lower section is allowed too . References
  15. Hi, coming along nicely Bryan. Just some details about the ears: 1- You could trim a little more the ear to get it closer as the references . Do it little by little 2- You will need to remove one screw (red circle) and align a little more the ears moving them back a little. CRL for L2: Ears shall have two screws per side, one above the ear bar and one at the base of the helmet. CRL for L3: Ideally, the placement of ears (and screws) should closely follow the rear angle of the trap above them.
  16. If you have taken that side photo from the correct distance (2-3 mts and zoom it) it looks good to me. If you commit the rivets you still can make adjustments to the angle if necessary. What I would do: 1- Compare my photos to the references: 2- Commit the rivets 3- Place the ears with just one upper screw to allow rotation for adjustment Some references for you Original flipped
  17. Good luck Trooper!. If you haven't done, take a read before https://databank.501st.com/databank/TrooperSurvivalGuide#Trooping
  18. The ABS Belt photo is a little small so I can't see details. Please post a bigger one. Thank You .
