  6. Troop #10 It's been over 2 years since my last life troop with full group and it happened to be back at the Yokota Air Base for their May the 4th celebrations. This was a combined troop with 501st, Rebel Legion and Saber Guild with a R2-D2 from Droid Builders Guild. We moved around but brought smiles, laughs and screams from kids and adults alike.
  7. Rivets can be troublesome, when one failed on my belt I switched it to Chicago screw. I also used them in my helmet for mounting lenses.
  8. I might be a bit late to offer some advice, but I also had issues with wide calves. You can see in my build log that I joined my shins and forearms in a V so the openings were sized right. Also with an inner/outer strip and gap filler to make as much room as possible. Also for shins I created a lock to hold them in correct place as I need to hold them exactly the right spot with a lot of tension. One of my last posts trying a new lock pin system, it worked well for troop but the pin needs improvement for removal.
  9. I’ve been considering how to add hearing assist without additional helmet work. ( My helmet is tight already. ). I’d been thinking to just use AirPods and found Live Listen feature build into iOS. So you could have your iPhone carried externally or by handler and hear more sounds around you. If anyone has any other app suggestions I’d love to ‘hear’ them.
  10. Looks good. I can see your TD might need to be rotated to show the circle like I did with mine. Best of luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. Troop #9 Star Wars Visions Media Event 「スター・ウォーズ ビジョンズ」 I'm the trooper on the left.
  14. This is why I used Chicago screws instead of pop rivets. Down the road I can remove the plastic and give the belt a wash. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. After over a year of storage and pandemic I pulled the TK armor out and put it back on for some video message recording. I was happy that it all still fit but taking it off the left shin lock snapped. This sliding lock worked well, only coming undone once but the 1cm didn't hold up and snapped. So I designed a new lock which works on a pin instead of sliding it up which gives more size for the plastic and should still hold strongly. I added some space to get a hold and pull the pin up. Also an elastic above it which makes it engage as soon as it is inserted so only taking it off takes a bit of work.
  16. Troop #8 ( Virtual ) May the 4th be with you event May 4th 2021 Disney Website/Youtube After Live event was canceled I was asked to join the May the 4th Zoom countdown. One of the few TK's along with other members of 501st, RL, Droid and Mandalorian groups. Also at the end of the show was a collection of clips and my dancing one was used. Video up on Site and Youtube. https://starwars.disney.co.jp/mt4.html?fbclid=IwAR3DfIJUuT4zbsw_24Dl3r1UlV8kQ8PDiAkgsjbiKBenbAs1pF0-611Q2ME
  17. I managed with a coat hanger, taking the plastic cover off and had a nice grease metal look under it. Found a broom handle with reasonable diameter. Most important to make careful even spaced wraps around the broom. You don’t want to try and adjust them by hand afterward, never evens out right. After I cut to the right length and it is static but jiggles around making a reasonable sound I like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Sadly my bucket doesn’t have the room for so much goodness. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Welcome to FISD. Sounds like you are already on your way and many here will offer their help. Research and questions will get your armor ready for service to the Empire. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  22. I used a mix of elastic and nylon for both flex and preventing pieces from being out of position. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. If making changes to the TD, you might want to rotate it so the panel is facing out. I had to make a similar change to mine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
