  1. I've never tried this, but it seems to me that the butt plate will want to push backwards and stick out (assuming you are going to use elastics under some amount of tension). I find that just attaching strapping via the shortest route gives the best stability. I'm interested to see how this works. Good luck!
  2. I believe for approval at higher levels they need to be rubber or rubber-like. Home depot has black neoprene gloves that work well and are pretty cheap. When you troop, you can switch them out if you want for something more breathable. I just use the home hardware gloves with cotton liners underneath. The liners keep the rubber from sticking to your hands.
  3. Thanks Franks. It is good to know you have my back.
  4. So, I had a weird thing happen to my PayPal account. PayPal has "limited" my account. Which means they have frozen my PayPal account. I can't buy anything, transfer funds, or send money... but I can receive payment. Well, PayPal can receive payment since I have no access to the money. They were not very clear on why they did this. I called in and talked to customer service to little avail. They want me to provide additional personal information (which I have now done) to unlock my account (pending review of documents). But after reading a number of posts online, this is no guarantee. We'll see. The thing is - I've had the account for 15 years and it has been verified the whole time with updated banking info added throughout. This last month (or so) is the first time I actually carried a PayPal balance. A balance which PayPal has essentially seized and basically held ransom for more personal info. After a Google search, I found out this is not uncommon. If PayPal "suspects suspicious activity" they can limit (aka freeze) your account for 180 days (according to a quick Google search) plus whatever time it takes to get it reopened (see Anovos' customer service record for analogy - just kidding, but some of the frustration translates IMO). Once the account is returned to normal (they say three days) I will be making a point of never carrying a PayPal balance. I'm sure they have issues enforcing security measures to ensure accounts are valid - but in my case, they provided no transparency as to why I was flagged. In fact, I believe the customer service agent mentioned it was a systematic audit. I find it too much of a coincidence that this occurred the first time I carried a PayPal balance (do this to a few thousand people every day - I'm sure the interest on the money would add up - if that is the game here). As PayPal seems to be the main method for payment for merch, this is very disappointing and alarming. I will see how this turns out in the next couple of days - but when I logged into my account last night and found it deactivated I lost a lot of faith in using PayPal. I just wanted people to be aware of this and see if others have had the same experience. end rant
  5. Soooooo... Curved side out?
  6. Okay, so when I built my TK I scoured other Centurion applications to see which way the S-trim is installed. Based on what I saw, I installed mine curve out. Then I thought I read someplace that curve-in is more accurate. So how to people wear it? Curve or flat? Curve ------- Flat (curve in) ------- To change things up, I installed it flat (I had to resize the opening on the bottom of my TD bucket). Anyway, I like the look of it. Not shown, but I installed with the seam at the back. ---------- I also picked up a hard hat liner from Trooperbay. Why didn’t I do this earlier!? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Congratulations, trooper!
  8. Yep, same grey. Sounds like things are coming together!
  9. I believe they are about 5 to 6mm in size. I can't remember if there was an actual measurement photo in the reference gallery. As long as they are not noticeably large (or small) you should be good.
  10. Don't worry about being accurate down to the mm for the TD. I'm surprised that the CRL states 7.5" I think most TD's are closer to 7.25 inches (like what is in your reference photo posted previously). Also, yeah... some have used it as storage by using an elastic strap to keep the ends together. But like Chris mentioned - it is not the easiest thing to reach when trooping and, it is one of the easiest things to lose.
  11. Congrats Jerald! Welcome to the ranks!
  12. I just posted this in your old thread - so I'll post it here too... Hi Michael, Yes, the ab and kidney should line up at the top. Also, the kidney should ideally butt up against the back piece with no overlap (so, yeah, it is high) - although I do not believe this is a requirement for basic approval (as per the CRL). For basic approval, you will need to separate your butt plate from your kidney plate. It does look like the butt plate has slipped down a bit in the pictures. You want to keep your cod and butt plates high as possible (i.e. comfortable) so they are not in the way of the thigh pieces. I wouldn't worry about reshaping the chest piece or the back quite yet from what I can see. Check out some of the images in the original trilogy image reference gallery. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/category/24-anh-tk-reference/ or some of the Centurion applications for the ideal look of the armor. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/72-request-centurion-status/ Hope that helps. Good luck.

  14. This is very cool! Nice work!
  15. Congrats trooper! The vast majority of the recommendations are pretty easy fixes, see you at Centurion! To keep my kidney and ab aligned and gap-less I had to make a tab and slot connection on the right side and add more strapping to the left side. Worked like a charm. Nice work!
  16. Agreed - further clarification on this sort of language would be very useful in the CRL!
  17. "OH, THAT'S OK. I DON'T LIKE CHICKEN, ANYWAYS"
  18. Just kidding. You will have trouble hearing - fact of life in a TK bucket. You can lessen the damage by insulating the fans from the plastic. If you don't have any kind of liner in your bucket, try to wrap foam (weather stripping) around your fans and back them with foam or Velcro. Aside from that, just placement can make a difference. Or go see Tony about his hearing assist system.
  19. I think you have a point to argue here. I don't recall anyone being called on those types of hovi-mics before (but I don't closely follow a lot of the approval threads). This is not clearly indicated in the CRL, or at least the CRL does not appear to have changed so I don't know why these tips would no longer be allowed. From what I can tell, if you passed EIB with them, then you should be good. Don't trash them yet
  20. Congratulations Chris! Enjoy the trooping - it really is the best part!
  21. Nice work Brendan and congrats on approval. Before you pull your helmet apart - keep in mind that the alignment of those ear screws can look off in pictures depending on the angle of the shot. I have an AP kit and always thought my screws were a bit out based on pictures, but when looking at the helmet in person, it is very close to lining up to the edge of the trap. I took a bunch of pictures to test, and sure enough... depending on the angle of the camera to the helmet, the screws can look really out to lunch. Especially if you are close up to the helmet and using a wide angle lens (like what most smart phones have). Did the hovi mics come from AP like that? See you at Centurion!
  22. @Harbinger I think you have samples for these kits. What say you, good sir?
  23. What happened to the plastic sample database (or whatever it got called)? Who was looking after that? Yeah, Anovos certainly has a creamy color when compared to AP. I have no idea about ATA.
